Afterglow Skin Care

I got a Brazilian, armpit, and full leg wax for my wedding and Stephanie did an amazing job. We all know that waxing is one of the most dreaded things a girl looks forward to but she did an amazing job. She kept me distracted by asking me questions about my upcoming wedding and just chatting about life. I will no longer dread getting waxed again :)

How much do I love Stephanie? Oh, let me count the ways.
1. Her bedside manner and overall energy is very calming and non-​intrusive. Stephanie knows when to talk to you and when to let you zone out.
2. She takes an overall assessment of your skin before she begins and tells you what products she’s thinking of using for this facial. Want something with a little more kick? Or something a little more sensitive? Let her know and your wish is her command.
3. Her neck and shoulder massages are the bomb-​dot-​com, y’all. For real real.
4. Stephanie knows her products are the best and lets them speak for themselves. She proudly displays what she uses and if you’d like to buy product she’ll happily oblige, but will never push a product on you just to sell it.
5. I’ve been coming to Stephanie a little over a year and can tell you she’s, hands down, the best. I’ve gone to other salons in other parts of the city as well as out of town when I’ve traveled and no one compares to the experience she creates for you.
6. Stephanie has never said, «No, I can’t schedule you then» to me. She’s an independent business owner, therefore she’s able to set her own hours and cater to when you need her. There’s been multiple times when I’ve had to shift my facial a few hours here or there because of outside obligations and she’s always too happy to oblige.
Give Stephanie a try — I guarantee you’ll never have another facial like hers.

Stephanie is a very sweet and hospitable person. I came in for eyebrow waxing and she took her time to make sure I was happy even going over my eyebrows a second time when I asked her to. I’m giving her 3 stars only because my eyebrows did not turn out how I wanted them, I actually went home and plucked what she had missed. Although I won’t go back to her to do my eyebrows I wouldn’t mind going to get a facial after reading all of the rave reviews.

Stephanie has sat the bar so high I’m not sure what I am going to do when I stop coming to Houston for business. I found her on Unilocal when I was looking to get a few facials prior to my wedding.
It was my first facial ever, so I didn’t know what to except, she walked me through and talked me through the whole process before we got started and put me immediately at ease. She has created and extremely tranquil environment in her suit. I immensely enjoyed my entire experience, the products she uses are wonderful. I have since had another facial and was extremely disappointed in that experience and was made acutely aware of how good Stephanie is at what she does. I saw her again a few weeks before my wedding and had just as incredible of an experience, I also saw a very real improvement in my skin fort he very important events lead up to it. I am so grateful I found her when I did!
I wish I could give her more than 5 stars!

Stephanie is sweet as can be and does an amazing job giving the best and most relaxing facials!
I originally came to her because of milia issues and she has done a great job at keeping even the most stubborn ones at bay. I’ve realized all these years I’ve struggled with milia that I’m not really equipped to deal with them myself — plus I’m more likely to scar my face in the process whereas Stephanie only removes them when they are ‘ready’ to go.
Her office is easy to get to, she has been very flexible with me when I have to change appointment times, and my skin is much improved since I’ve started seeing her. Go see her you will not be sorry!!!

I previously had a facial here which was awful she did a 30 minute facial and charged me 80 bucks. She called herself doing extractions with a piece of cotton and when I seen my face I still had tons of blackheads. If you are looking for a esthetician that’s takes her time and does a great facial this is not the place. Run, I was about 10 minutes late you barely removed and blackheads and it was tons to remove you put cream on my face and pushed me out the door in 30 minutes but charged me for a hour facial. Don’t try and make your crappy facial my fought. Run

I wrote this review three or so years ago. I am still a client at Afterglow. Every service I have ever had is professional, top quality, great service. I wouldn’t drive to the galleria area from Montrose if it wasn’t a great place to go.

I love getting all of my face needs at afterglow! Stephanie does a great job waxing, with facials, and has the best make up supplies I have ever used! I will never use anyone else for this and has helped me with my acne. I am extremely happy with my face after any service. Such an awesome aesthetician!

Stephanie did my makeup for my wedding, and I could not have been happier. She truly went above and beyond my expectations. She also did makeup for several of my bridesmaids and they were extremely satisfied as well. I would definitely recommend her to anyone with a special occasion coming up!

Stephanie is amazing! I’ve tried a couple of facial spa including The Heights and both time was disappointed, but this is the real deal! She’s very friendly, doesn’t talk much but very accurate n focus on what she’s doing. She did a good job on extraction, my skin was breaking bad; she was able to extract everything out, no pain! Not like other aesthetician, she doesn’t try to sell any product at all.
Three hours after the treatment, my skin was glowing already, i put on some makeups to go out n my friends were like «why does your skin look so smooth n glowing tnite?!» That’s just how wonderful she did. Best 85 $ i’ve ever spent on facial!

I do not know why I have not written a review sooner. I tried Afterglow after I read reviews on Unilocal… that was 3 years ago. I do not go to anyone else but Stephanie. She not only has reasonable prices, she is extremely pleasant to go to. She is easy to schedule appts with and will always work around your schedule. Not to mention — I have EXTREMELY sensitive skin and used to always break out when I got waxed — Have I had a breakout since I have been to Afterglow… no, not once. Stephanie is extremely knowledgeable about the body and her products and will explain to you exactly what products she is using on you and why –and best of all she doesn’t try to force you to buy anything. I wish I could rate this a 10 star place but that wouldnt even do it justice.

I tried Afterglow out through a groupon. I have had a terrible experience with a spa from groupon before and this was a relief to find. It was the best experience possible. The place is very clean. I did not have to worry about laying on dirty sheets or a wrap that everyone has used. I felt very comfortable and relaxed.
Stephanie is very sweet and knowledgable. She knows what products work for your skin type. I will definitely be visiting her often.

I absolutely love my facials from Stephanie. She is very pleasant and always very accommodating when it comes to scheduling (and rescheduling) appointments. Her space is very clean and my hour spent in her office every 6 weeks is one of my favorite hours all month! I love her products and my skin feels wonderful after ever session. LOVE her facials. She customizes the facial according to your needs, uses fantastic/​effective products, does a great job of cleaning out pores without leaving skin red/​irritated, gives a very relaxing arm/​shoulder massage. Glowing skin afterwards!

Just like everyone body says, Stephanie is amazing. The wax was almost painful as long as you keep up regularly and take some painkillers an hour beforehand.

Tried this place on a Bloomspot deal. I’m a Euro Wax Center loyalist for the most part for their pricing, hygiene and location conveniences. Stephanie brings tough competition. She is clean, courteous, very skilled at her job. She operates independently, yet has great pricing for a Westheimer location. I’m booking the next appointment soon.

Stephanie is awesomet! I’ve gotten a Brazilian and eyebrow wax from her and they’ve both been great! Her Brazilian was way less painful than most places I’ve gone to and reasonably priced too.

Stephanie is amazing! My mom and I have been getting facials from her for a couple years. My skin looks amazing and I keep coming back! Plus she gives such great facials you want to keep coming back!
She also waxes me. (I came to her after a bad cheap nail salon wax where they screwed up my eyebrows) My eyebrows have never looked better!

Brazilian waxes are NO JOKE! There is no way around the pain and what is worse is when it takes longer than 20 mins. What are you doing down there so long???
Stephanie is your answer! She takes 15 minutes and her cool demeanor put you at ease. 15 minutes does not mean rip and go. Stephanie is very fast — her work is detailed, clean & there are no strays or ingrown hair left behind (sorry guys– TMI).
She is a one woman show so if she doesn’t answer her phone, leave her a message, she always calls back pretty quickly.
