Awesome Massage & Spa

I came here to write a review and it looks like there have been VERY similar experiences from other clients with the Groupon.
I purchased 3 60 minute massages and he REFUSED the Groupon, no matter what I said. I indicated on my client information sheet VERY clearly that I was using the Groupon, but he insisted that he «told me on the phone it was $ 70.» What a joke! They’re clearly using the Groupon advertisement to lure clients there, then make them pay full price.
If you’re looking for a relaxing experience, look somewhere else. Not only was the front desk attendant extremely rude, he didn’t care at all about the client experience, just that he got his $ 70.

I have been going here for 3 years now.
This place is simply the BEST and Barry is a incredible masseuse!

One of the few massage spas who listened to my requests (pressure, no elbows, sensitive areas, etc). Heater made the room comfortable. Therapist worked front and back. rare in commercial establishments. Multiple services available with reasonable pricing. Afternoons good for walk-​in… would call ahead for evenings and weekends.

I always feel so relaxed after my massage and foot treatment. Quite and peaceful environment.

I purchased the 2 60 minute massages for one person from Groupon. Called to make an appointment for both a deep tissue massage and a Thai massage back to back for myself for this afternoon and the spots were available. When I told the guy setting my appointments that I had the Groupon he said I couldn’t use both hours in the same day… why not? I would have to come back another time for the second appointment. I paid for 2 hours, and I want both in the same day. It doesn’t state that anywhere in the fine print that I read before purchasing it. He told me to call Groupon about it. I did and the person I spoke with said it’s not in their fine print so they should honor the Groupon. I paid for 2 hours and it only says the same person must use both hours. Called the business back and told them what Groupon said. Was told well I need to investigate and will have to call you back. I asked if it would be in the next few hours because I needed to book the appointments and was told oh, I probably won’t be able to get you in today. Needless to say, I cancelled the purchase and got my money back. Such a bad way of doing business. They lost a potential repeat customer over something very stupid.

I decided to try out awesome spa as I needed some relaxation for my sore back. Jose did an excellent job and took special attention of some dodgy spots on my back. Good clean place, privacy is respected and price was reasonable. $ 45 for an hour long session.

Amazing massage! Now how the rooms are set up, leads to an imperfect situation. The rooms are not enclosed so you can hear what is going on outside, but honestly you can’t beat an amazing massage for 50 dollars. (Wendy was my masseuse)

Professional massage at a very reasonable price. I have gotten a lot of massages before and I would rank this among the best. The price is actually cheaper than most so that is why I give it 5 stars based on very good massage at a great price. I normally go with Barry who is great. One time he was sick and his sister was my masseur instead and she was great as well.

In this instance, no massage trumps a bad massage any day!
If in doubt, choose any place but here unless you want a world of hurt.
And I do mean hurt — elbows banging and shoving into your bones forcefully.
Oh, and FYI — if that wasn’t enough reason –they don’t want your business. When I was done he says «why didn’t you choose x place, they are ranked higher than us as top massages» ?!!
Pricing – arbitrary. Listed as 50 an hour. He chose 60 for me.
Scheduling – just don’t do it.
I scheduled a time and was asked to do a different time.
I was still told –«we don’t usually do this late»
And «oh sometimes this late just for people
coming after work” — yet, their website and system
states late hours.
All the same – this place is a big no.
Bad massage, and 100% inconsistencies across
the board!

My regular therapist from another spa was on vacation, and my friends told me about the Groupon deal at Awesome. After buying the deal, I called for an appointment, the guy who answered the phone was strange and impolite. His first question was how did you hear about us? Then he said there’re restricted hours for Groupon customers. (I asked for 6 pm body massage on Fri). He said weekends are reserved for customers who pay regular price. He even said in a sarcastic manner,“you got the Groupon discount, you can only come during non busy hours like weekdays mornings”. I asked why those restrictions wren’t written on the deal. He just laughed and said his customers are flexible and no one has issues in coming in weekdays’ mornings. He also commented that if I’m willing to pay $ 50/​hr, he’ll schedule the 6 pm appointment for me.
I am sorry that I have a 8 – 5 pm job M-​F, so if I knew of those restrictions, I will NEVER have bought the deal. It was a complete waste of time and his demeanor was unprofessional. I shared my experience with several of my friends who also bought this deal and we all ended up getting a refund from Groupon.

Got a 60 min deep tissue with Sophia earlier today. It was one of the best massages I had in awhile. The only thing I didn’t like was the room isn’t fully enclosed so you can pretty much hear everything going on in the place. The front door has a bell/​chime and every time someone came in or out it is so loud. I didn’t come in for a relaxing massage so I concentrated more on breathing through the deep massage where it could get painful then let the outside noise bother me too much. So if you want super quiet and relaxing place try elsewhere. I’ll be back to get my neck and shoulder loosen up again soon.

This is the very first groupon that I ever got for a massage and was not bitterly disappointed. Barry is great. Here is why:
–I got there exactly at appt time because traffic was bad. I got checked in right away, filled in my 1 page paperwork, and was put in the room in 15 mins.
–I assumed my massage was going to end after 45 mins cause that’s how they catch you in most places. They count your hour the minute you walk in. But it keep going and going and going. I got my full hour.
–I always prefer a male therapist cause they are more firm. For the first time EVER (and I have had hundreds of massages) I felt a bit nauseous from all the toxins released because it was truly a deep tissue massage.
–The lotion used was simple, light fragrance and did not leave a heavy cheap smelling lather/​fragrance. Really brought out the quality of the massage.
Only teensiest bit annoyance was the fact that the rooms are not fully enclosed, although private, and you could hear other peoples conversations and stuff. That was a bit distracting.
Go see Barry, you won’t regret it.

Just received a Thai massage from Sofia. I sit most of the day, so I normally ask for deep tissue massages. But I have been more active the last 4 months and today I did not know what kind of massage I needed. But as I told Sofia about the stiffness I was experiencing from my distance running, she told me a Thai massage would be the best. She was right. I like deep pressure/​stretching and she was very able. She was very attentive to the pressure, ensuring that the massage/​stretching was effective, but not overly painful. I will absolutely be returning.

I just called to see if anyone was available for a foot massage and the gentleman that answered the phone said, «can you do the body massage instead?» I proceeded to ask how much that cost and he replied, «$ 50.» I go very often to get massages so I wasn’t looking to spend that much so I said I’d rather have the foot massage. He responded with, «sorry we don’t have anyone.» That’s it. Nothing about someone being available at a later time or anything. Does that mean they no longer do foot massages or what? I guess they are not looking for business.

As a complete first-​timer to any massage parlor, I was more than pleased with my visit to Awesome.
My boyfriend bought my sister and me their Groupon deal back in February. Call to make an appointment and give them your Groupon numbers. They’ll give you a confirmation call as well.
We were greeted with the biggest «good morning» when we walked into their well-​kept, peaceful and clean facility. We filled out forms, and Wendy took me to the back. Her room was also clean and smelled great (talk about aromatherapy!). She was very friendly and did an incredible job focusing on the spots I had mentioned in the forms. I’ve never felt so relaxed, and she managed to get some of the kinks out of my shoulders, which had years of stress. I didn’t feel uncomfortable at any point. Highly recommend her!
My sister also enjoyed her massage with Barry, and she feels much looser without the heavy tension in her shoulders and neck. She also recommends him!
I felt so bad that I almost forgot to tip at the end until they politely asked. I actually appreciate their friendly reminder because I appreciate their hard work and I can’t believe I completely overlooked it. I emptied out whatever cash I had in my wallet, but I’ll definitely be more prepared next time.
TIP: Don’t wait on their Groupon deals. Their services are already such a great prices without them.

Barry was Awesome, just like the name…
did a thorough work of my back as my knots had me clogged. My lymph nodes seemed to clear right up after.
Was back and once again an Awesome massage.
Really intuitive on what is working and what isn’t. Must say, Barry has my vote for therapist of the year. THAT is how well I like his massages.

I really like this place and come about once a month or more for either a full body massage or a foot massage.
Barry does a wonderful job as a masseuse. Last time i went was after a marathon and I was very sore. Barry combined swedish, thai, deep, and stretching and after an hour in his hands, i felt so much better. He really got into the massage and it was a perfect combination to address all my issues but still an enjoyable experience. Be sure to speak up on what you want and you will get a massage tailored to your needs.
I’ve gotten the foot massage once and was also very satisfied. It lasts 60min with the first 10 minutes a shoulder massage and the last 15min a lay down back massage… which is nice after having your feet concentrated on for over 30min. Unfortunately I do not know the lady’s name who did my massage but her foot and back massage was great and price was awesome! I have my next massage tomorrow — perfect for a work lunch break to unwind.
I would recommend this place to anyone.

I must confess this was my first massage ever, I’m glad I wasn’t disappointed. Great massage, very clean and professional; definitely will come back.

I came to this location with my boyfriend after seeing the Groupon for it a couple months ago. When I called in to ask a few questions and make an appointment, the receptionist told me to just come in soon. She also advised me not to buy the groupon and that they would honor the groupon price of $ 40 for a one-​hour back massage. Since I know that groupon takes 50%, I followed her recommendations.
We were asked to fill out a form when we first arrived, much like other massage parlors, that asked us about our preferences and our aches and pains. I had been feeling some mad back pain and spasms from bending over a lab bench 10 hours a day 7 days a week, so I was greatly looking forward to this.
The massage area is set up so that there are two rows of massage chairs in the center of the room with doors to individual rooms lining the edges of the room. Since we had opted for the back massage, we were led to the individual rooms. One major flaw was that there was no option of having a couples massage together in the same room. My boyfriend is always a little apprehensive about coming here because he is never able to communicate with his masseuses. After being led to your room, you are then invited to undress down to just your underwear (no bra, ladies) and prostrate yourself on the massage table until the masseuse knocks to ask to enter.
I always ask for Tommy, who is actually also the manager of the business. Tomny is amazing. He is very professional, very considerate, and very good at what he does. He can feel the knots in your back and is wonderful at working at them. He even brought out the tiger balm to rub all over my sore back, bringing back a very comforting smell from my childhood. He always tells me how terrible the knots in my back are and makes recommendations about how often I should visit him to resolve the problem (its nothing ridiculous nor does he make it sound like a simple ploy to turn me into a money cow), yet I unfortunately can never make it on a weekly basis. Whenever I make a return visit, he always gives me ten to fifteen minutes extra (I think it’s because he feels sorry for me). I always walk away from our encounters looking as if I took a beating to my back (my boyfriend definitely got some glares when we were at the pool the day after my first visit with Tommy), but the next day, I am always feeling 110%. My back spasms have also stopped after my first appointment here.
I take off one star though on behalf of my boyfriend’s experiences. While I am more than pleased with Tommy’s skills, my boyfriend has never found a masseuse there he is comfortable with. My boyfriend is a big guy with several good-​sized knots ins his back as well, and none of his masseuses are able to apply the pressure he needs. One masseuse had even tried standing on his back after the poor woman could not apply any more pressure, but it just made his experience more uncomfortable. I think I’m going to have to share Tommy with him!

I had an hour massage with Kelli and was extremely happy afterwards. She was very professional & knowledgeable about the human body, reflexes, muscles, etc. She really did listen to what I wanted out of a massage and went over & beyond. I felt fantastic afterwards. She definitely worked the spots that I needed a little extra time on and got the knots out that I seem to collect. Super happy with the place and especially Kelli. I will be back!
