I can’t rave enough about this place. I come here often for my meat. The prices are cheaper than your average grocery store, and the selection is phenomenal. They staff are helpful and knowledgable. I always leave here happy.

I like B&W because they sell cuts of meat, that I just can’t find at the other butcher shops. I was on a quest to find smoked turkey tails. And, whereas they didn’t have them, they did have FRESH turkey tails (well technically frozen, but you get the point).
Whaaaat? I have never ever seen that at the butcher before.
The place centers around the butcher will a VERY large selection of meats, but they also have a small grocery store, so if you need to pick up a couple items you can do it all in one place. Though I wouldn’t advise doing a full grocery list. The meats are typically less than at a grocery store. They are comparable with other meat shop/​butcher prices.
I have a meat shop that I tend to go to more, but I do love this place for its variety of non-​common meats and cuts of meat.

If you need a cut of meat that you think may not be available at your favorite grocery store, come here! They probably have it. Even if you don’t see it on the display, you typically have one guy that will help you the entire time, and they always say no problem and walk to the butchering area and they will cut off a piece for you and your requested weight. That’s awesome.
While you’re here they have some amazing sausages that you must try. I highly recommend the spicy deer sausage, and the smoked boudin sausages.

This place is great! It has a wide selection of different meats you can pick as well as different grocery/​produce products to choose from. We had a BBQ last weekend and I wish we would’ve thought about coming here instead because it’s a one stop shop! Meat, tortillas, fixings, chips, drinks, salsa, produce!
I can’t wait to grill out meat :)

This is THE place to go to get all kinds of meat to grill and make in Houston. Want a whole rabbit or venison? They got it? Crawfish rub? Got it! Meat patties? Ditto.

Great place. Good meat selections. Great venison sausage. I had my deer processed here too. I was very happy ! I got almost every thing here, too at their grocery store

This is a nice little hidden gem in the heights area. Wow was I amazed when I saw the prices!
When you walk in, you are immediately immersed with the wide range of meats they offer. This place immediately brought me back to Louisiana with their tailor towards southern meats and spices.
You take a ticket and wait for your number to be called. It does take a bit, so I’d advise not to come on a Sunday, as it was very busy.
We ordered SO many meats and some cheese for a grand total of $ 32! It was a steal and the meats look amazing.
Forget the grocery store, we will be coming here for now on!

Just moved from Louisiana. Came here looking for boudin. quite the surprise when I found out they sell smoked boudin. bought four links. sooo good and they heated it right then and there

I love B&W meat market, it’s quite a drive from my area but it’s definitely worth it.
They have a great variety/​fresh selection of meats and cuts.
Frog legs? B&W has it.
Whole oxtails? Yup.
Whole rabbit? Yup.
Deer sausage? Yes.
Turtle meat?! No problem they have that too. Yes, you heard it. Turtle meat.
Anything that has legs. B&W probably has it.
Also one the few places that will sell whole bacon with the rind as well.
It definitely can get packed during weekends. If you’re a last minute holiday dinner shopper get a number be & prepared to wait in line.
Employees are extremely helpful & friendly, from suggesting cuts of meat for a dish to picking the actual meat itself. They are knowledgeable about the marbling on beef as well. I’ve never had a bad experience here.

Clean, friendly staff, and good quality of meat. Only downfall are the lines, but they move quickly. It’s better to shop early in AM especially on the week of an holiday.

I was really impressed with the meat and the service. There is an excellent variety of very fresh meat and there wasn’t a long wait at the counter when I went. (after 5 on a Wednesday) The meat cooked up well with less grease and water loss than the meat I buy at the grocery store.
Their prices were great and I was even able to buy two huge bones for my dogs at a reasonable price. I will definitely be back!

This is my go-​to meat market for great quality steaks. I typically come here for the ribeye’s but they have a ton of other assortments of cuts and other meats. These are the best ribeye’s I’ve gotten. I’ve once gone to Whole Foods for ribeyes (because B&W was closed) and the steak was just not up to par as B&W. Did I mention that this place is cheaper too?
I’ve gotten the filet mignon’s there as well. The filet’s are exquisite! I would say that they are on par with steakhouses in terms of quality and tenderness. I love that they let you choose ANY size of filet cut and they cut it ON THE SPOT. let it be 4oz, 5,6,7,8 whatever oz filet you want.
The people at the counter are very nice and helpful. They don’t rush you in placing your order.

Great selection of sausages and meats. Almost nothing they don’t have and tons of it.
Not your typical «one counter» meat market. The meat cases seem to go on forever. Staff is incredibly helpful and very patient.
Place was packed when I was there which tells me one thing: THIS IS THE PLACE TO BE.

I’ve been going to this store for three months now, and been having their ribeye steaks. I think it’s better than most stores, including whole foods and HEB. Plus they carry all the BBQ spices, so if you’re planning a BBQ don’t worry they have everything even charcoal.

friendly staff, very helpful. Brought in an outside product to trim and tie. @ 85 cents a pound, def save me the hassle of acting like I knew what i was doing!

I stop by here one day after work to check out what they have since my friend recommended them to me and said they have really good meat and is always fresh. After experiencing the experience of buying some products from them I was extremely satisfied with the meat products I got. I purchased some sausage, beef, parks and some ham which ended up all fresh and delicious. I shared it with my family and couple friends that stopped by to try it and they all said it was one of the best experiences they had in awhile. The pricing was good and I would definitely be coming back to purchase more.

First state your name and where you are from — Duan and I am from Jackson, Mississippi. I came in town to hang out with some friends. I am an avid backyard griller — so what do you do when you visit a city? You load up on grub that you can’t find in your own city, especially when you come from a small city like Jackson, Mississippi — that does not have any real butchers in the whole freakin place!
I got on Unilocal,used Unilocal to help navigate to the location — directions were spot on and did not have any problems. I must say that the customers that come there are serious about their meat! They know what they want and how they want it. Every customer that was there — I promise — purchased at least 25lbs. of meat — whether it was smoked sausage, roast, steaks, seafood — they got frozen goods too!
Walking into that place — I felt like a kid in Toys’R’Us — it is a grill masters toy store!
They had jumbo turkey wings! Not that mess you see in Krogers — I mean they had HUGE TURKEY WINGS!
It was amazing, simply amazing! I was blown away when I noticed they had Spur Tree seasonings — dry and wet — Ox Tail, Curry and Jerk seasonings!
An abundance of BBQ sauces and rubs! It’s like I said — it is a grill masters toy store!
I ended up getting 15lbs of the beef and pork garlic smoked sausage (hot and mild), 20lbs. of the marinated rib eyes, B&W BBQ sauce and rubs, I loaded up on the Spur tree seasonings as well.
Got back to Jackson for the 4^th and threw on that beef and pork garlic sausage! The kinfolks destroyed it! Cooked the marinated rib eyes the other day — Some of the most tender steaks I’ve ever had and I cooked them medium well to boot.
I would give an arm and leg to have a butcher store like this in Jackson, Mississippi — but I will just have to load up the coolers on my next visit to Houston, yes indeed!
B&W is awesome, simply awesome.

I drive by this place every day on my way to work and I finally stopped in.
The meat counter is all the way in the back and it goes pretty much wall to wall. There were 4 – 5 people helping customers. I missed the number machine towards the right so I was standing there for a bit not knowing what to do. I asked one of the ladies on the floor and she walked behind the counter to help me out.
If you are a fan of sausage this is your spot. There is all sorts of smoked sausages: pork, beef, gator, possum (OK, not the last one). They have great selection and the prices are actually very reasonable.
I ended up buying some pork steaks and jalapeño boudin. Everything was of great quality and the boudin was awesome. I also grabbed some cracklins as an impulse purchase and those were damn tasty. They also have a little market for any last minute items but from where I can see it’s definitely pricier than what you would get at the grocery store.
I’m happy to have a place like this so close to my house. Support your local businesses!

As suggested by the reviews, I avoided coming here on a weekend. I went on a Friday, just before lunchtime, and was helped immediately (line of employees waiting for customers to help). I only got chicken wings (they cut them for you for only 4cents more per lb), and they looked good/​big. Service was quick and they appeared to have a large selection. Will be coming back for more.
Prices seemed decent, but not a huge bargain. However I’m sure quality is superior to grocery stores.

This place has TOP OF THE LINE customer service. The whole crue never stops moving, and as soon as you walk up to the counter someone is there like Johnny-​on-​the-​Spot!
Deer sausage, alligator steaks, rabbit, pork, turtle, etc., they have someone you’ll like.
Try to go on the weekdays, the weekends get pretty busy.
