I always enjoyed the food at the Barnaby’s franchise. The Lebanese chicken fattoush is one of my favorites. Atmosphere is usually good except(unfortunately) several recent occasions. I have noticed that several of the restaurant personnel is a tiny bit too casual, slacking off, making the rest frustrated. Expect delays. In conclusion, should you go? Yes, but just in case, arm yourself with lots of patience.

Food was pretty good. I would suggest the salads or burgers. The Salads were huge… def enough for 2 meals. The service was a little lacking but our server seemed super busy. Mouth wash dispenser in the bathroom was interesting.

This is a quick update on the excellent house wines. As mentioned in my earlier review it’s $ 5 per glass and $ 10 per bottle — except on a Tuesday! Then the house wine is only $ 2 a glass — great quality and a price you’ll struggle to beat in any restaurant…

So happy that there’s a location close to home and they serve breakfast! I went to check it out for the 1st time this weekend and the quality of food and atmosphere was great! I will be back with the family.

My Houston staple! I live in Dallas now and every time I come back to Houston I try to eat here — it’s that good. Bring someone with you and split the Lebanese chicken fattoush salad and the egg-salad sandwich. You won’t be disappointed, they are both so delicious and generous in portion that you’ll still have leftovers.

Being a canine lover stuck in a feline era tends to hurt a bit when everywhere you look are displays of cat merchandise and none of your doggie friends anywhere. This place was incredibly uplifting since it’s dog(and cat) friendly. The incredibly adorable canine pillows on the booths were so endearing. Our server was quick and helpful. He was happy to accommodate anything that we needed and really friendly. Waffle fries with blue cheese fondue(without bacon): YOUMUSTORDER! The blue cheese felt a bit overwhelming but holy crap it was amazing nonetheless. I’m a huge fan of waffle fries but just add some decadent cheese oozing with whatever ranch looking sauce on there and bam! You have a clogged artery and a happy heart on a plate.(5⁄5) Cheese and spinach lasagna: I deducted a star for this dish. It didn’t taste like a lasagna since all I was able to see were cheese and spinach and just a lot of cheese… I was wondering where all my layers of pasta went but I found ONE layer of pasta under the mounted cheese. I didn’t even dig through half of this dish because it was a lot of cheese. I will give it credit for the fantastic sauce that covered it. It tasted like it was made from scratch with a little spice.(3⁄5)

Children were hungry and we decided to have a meal in Barnaby’s Café. We ordered Chicken Tinga Quesadilla, burgers, fries and salad. Everything was tasty. Kids ate with pleasure. The service was excellent. Prices were affordable. The ambience was enjoyable and homelike. My children were amazed by cute pillows in the form of dogs. They liked them so much that they even asked to buy one of them. We liked Barnaby’s Café.

My friends and I frequent this establishment way too often for me to give it anything less than 5 stars. We’ve graced all locations. Give or take 3 – 4. The menu isn’t complex at all. Grab a burger and a beer and you’re good to go, but Definitely try to fit in a side salad if possible.

Great food! I had the egg salad sandwich. YUM. The cooked carrots from another entrée is quite questionable though. On a side note, we had tried coming here around a holiday. We called to confirm they were open. We showed up 5 minutes later, and they said, «Sorry, we’re closed.» SO. NOT. COOL.

This is the lunch and dinner version of Baby Barnaby’s. It, to me, brings to mind your local neighborhood watering hole and feeding trough. It *is* in my neighborhood, which is a plus. It’s only a half mile away, which means on a nice day, we could actually walk there. All that said, I will give the food a 3⁄5. Not because it’s bad. It just doesn’t stand out; and when you have dined at as many establishments as I have, your expectations tend to be higher(read: gourmand). I had the«Danish Ribs.» If found them lacking meat, and the sauce wasn’t as tangy/spicy as I am accustomed to. Now the butter/garlic sauteed spinach was quite tasty. Surprisingly, the fries were a bit bland as well. Now my wife raved about the meatloaf, as well as a couple of Unilocalers next to me.(Taking pictures of their food rather gave them away). I asked the young lady next to me, and she confessed to being a Unilocaler. She also thought the meatloaf was very tasty. I had a couple of tastes of the meatloaf: gratefully, it wasn’t the hamburger loaf covered in ketchup variety. It was more of a salsa-like tomato sauce which was very flavorful. The garlic mashed potatoes didn’t disappoint. We sat ourselves at the bar, and the young lady there did take good care of us, so no complaints there. I’m not sure still if one is sat down, or one chooses one’s own table. I believe it’s the latter. I did see that telltale yellow notepad«sign-in sheet» but it didn’t seem to apply last night. Overall, an enjoyable experience, and a fun neighborhood place to hang out. No real complaints. I’m sure we’ll go back and I’ll try some of the other options…

We’ve been going to other Barnaby’s locations for 9 years, so we were pretty excited when they opened a new location down the street from us. Unfortunately the service at this location is terrible and not at all up to the usual Barnaby’s standards. We’ve had multiple waiters who are inattentive, dismissive, or just plain rude. We could deal with this, but after our last visit we witnessed our waitress, who was cleaning the bathroom, carry garbage from the bathroom and then handle our food without washing her hands. When we realized how quickly she went from the kitchen with the trash to our table with food, we asked specifically if she had washed in between, and she said no but that she had used hand sanitizer. I don’t know what health codes allow, but we certainly didn’t feel like a spritz of hand sanitizer was sufficient to clean hands that had handled garbage. We won’t be returning to this location for a long time and until the issues here have been addressed.

I’m SO glad there’s a Barnaby’s even closer to me now. It’s a dangerous addiction, but I do not mind. I love the venue. It’s in a semi-quieter part of the Museum District, and it’s right next to a large parking garage with free parking on the first floor(but there’s tons of street parking if that doesn’t work out). The entire front wall is glass, allowing sunlight to peak through the restaurant. I’m also dying to sit on that front deck, which looks perfect for a brunch scene in a future favorite rom-com. Naturally, this bubbly, bright restaurant came with bright, bubbly wait service. Speaking of brunch, I can’t get enough. Against my better judgement, I ordered the short stack of red-velvet pancakes(complete with cream cheese icing, powdered sugar, syrup, and no regrets). Fluffy, heavenly, dessert for breakfast, well-earned calories. If you have a shameful sweet tooth, order this. Staying true to my roots, I also ordered the smoky bacon, which had perfect chewy-meets-crispy-but-not-too-greasy profile going on. The slight saltiness contrasted the pancakes nicely, but it wasn’t overbearing. I also tried my friend’s steak and eggs, and the steak was thick and chewy. All for a very reasonable price, too! I could not have asked for anything else from my brunch experience. Except maybe for the time to stop and rewind so I could do it again.

How cute is this place?! So cute! There’s dog pillows on the benches and dogs are allowed on the patio. There’s even games on the patio… It was like a little slice of Austin in Houston! Customer service is excellent, the food is great(yum to the sweet potato fries and a-mazing burger options). I do wish they had more gluten free items, but I simply ordered the burger without a bun and it was wort it. Plus, the steamed spinach as a side was extra tasty. To top it off this place is family friendly. I was there with my sister-in-law, nephew, and cousin during lunch on Saturday. They were so attentive to us and got the kids the wooden robot and colors to play with. So… I’ll be back — obvi. ;)

Wait — so you’re telling me they opened up a Barnaby’s in food-starved area where I have to go a lot, *and* it’s a thousand times easier to get a seat here than at Baby Barnaby’s? Really? The food is exactly as good as the location in Montrose. Perhaps it’s not quite as warm and welcoming a place as Baby Barnaby’s, but with a kid in tow, accessibility trumps nostalgia. We will be back, and back, and back… (if you want to feel as if have eaten enough to explode, for two, order 1 pancake(really excellent), and 1 of the breakfast plates, with sausage(excellent) eggs, biscuits(also excellent) and potatoes(frozen, I think, but excellent). You can just go ahead and skip lunch.

My first time to Barnaby’s and the food was delicious. I had Doctor Gale’s Meatloaf with mashed potatoes and veggie of the day(asparagus), and this is one of the best meatloafs i’ve ever had in a restaurant. It was so tender and moist and falls apart. It’s topped with delicious chunky tomato sauce. The sides were a perfect compliment to the meatloaf. I do wish the sauce wasn’t so runny that it got the bottom of my mashed potatoes really soggy. My friend ordered the same thing and his wasn’t as runny as mine, so I guess it just depends. The restaurant is spacious and clean and this location is adjacent to the Children’s Museum. There is garage parking and if there is no space on the first level, they will validate parking for the upper levels. I can’t wait to go back to try something else. Price ranges from $ 10-$ 15 on average per entrée, but portions are huge.

Arrived here around 1:30pm for lunch. Got seated quickly, and then right after, the line started piling in. The interior of the place was so lively and cutely decorated, I must say. Anyway, I asked the waitress to describe what the Petaluma salad was; it’s basically a taco salad w/a chipotle ranch dressing. I ordered for it on a smaller size; sans sour cream and cheese. The salad was served quickly and the smaller size is still HUGE! They served it w/2 scoops of great guac, and shredded tortilla chips everywhere. It has corn, black beans, etc. It was a filling salad and great for that price. The chipotle ranch dressing was actually really good. Definitely a good place for a quick lunch.

I am soooooo stoked that they opened up this location. I alway frequented their downtown spot for lunch with coworkers. First off let me say the portions are huge! Second they use hormone free meat! Aside from great food and service, I have one complaint… Parking. The first level of the garage is for restaurant parking(there are three food places and maybe 20 spots; clearly that isn’t going to work. I am unsure if they validate parking for those who park on levels 2+ Overall, I love this place so much that I don’t think even the parking could keep me away.

Picked this restaurant based on location and Unilocal reviews, and was pleasantly surprised! The café is near the natural history museum, which was the reason for stopping here… but now I’m thinking I should get a museum membership just so I have a good excuse to drive to Houston and eat at Barnaby’s. Came here two days in a row for lunch(it was that good!). The first day, had an epic salad — Chef’s, I think, in a bowl that would be an appropriate size the mix cookie dough in — that looked like I barely touched it when I finished. It was so delicious! Shredded chicken, bacon, egg, tomatoes… it was definitely a meal. Or four. Learn from day one: scan the QR code on the menu to get pictures and full descriptions, so you’re not surprised by what you blindly ordered. Or don’t. Blindly ordering worked out pretty well for me. Day two my mom and I went for burgers. She had something amazing, drippy and smothered in mushrooms. It looked fabulous(and she assured me it was. Repeatedly. Even a week later.), but I had zero regrets about my ahi tuna burger. It was cooked to an absolutely perfect medium rare and had a delicious, slightly spicy remoulade sauce on it. Oh, and get the chipotle sweet potato fries with chipotle bbq sauce, they’re excellent with everything — even the salad. The staff are friendly, a little quirky, and so attentive, even if you sit at the bar during the lunch rush. They have games set out on the bar, too! A cute detail that adds to the café’s fun atmosphere. I wish Barnaby’s would open a restaurant in Austin, because it would save me some gas money — I will definitely be returning.

The newest Barnaby’s is great! Large interior, some outdoor seating, great service, good food! We went for breakfast this morning(thank goodness they finally started their breakfast service!), and they brought a pot of coffee to the table right away! My boyfriend tried the bacon waffle(a waffle with a crisscross of bacon cooked inside), and liked it. I tried the falafel scramble which was actually pretty amazing — much, much tastier than it looked it sounded! I would definitely get it again! Love all these new places popping up in the Museum District!
