Big Tex Air

Charlie installed my system in 2011. It has been working awesomely! Throughout my years of having this system, and searching for a service company, i learned that Big Tex Air is primarily a new hvac system installer. They’re not support and service like johnmoore or bradburry brothers. Regardless, over the years, i called them many times to get tech specs on my system (to save me a trip into the attic), and EVERY TIME, they’d take the time and look up the information for me.

worst piece of shit company ever i have no idea why taylor morrison uses them. My home is 3 months old and the ac has gone out 3 times. They send out crappy ass african american technician with the worst attitudes. This company is a joke stay away from them dont use their service.

Big Tex air is a friken joke. My house is less than 6 years old and this will be the second or third time I’ve had problems. They were just at my house 1 year ago because of freon leaking and now is not working again. I just called them and they won’t come out to my house because I’m not under warranty and there sooooooo booked they will only service warranty people first.
They also just lied to me and told me the first time I called it was a week out, then I called back and she said a month.
Unfortunately this joke of an ac company installed my ac in my house when it was built and now won’t even come fix the problem. Listen to me and other people when we say there is to many honest and good company’s out there to deal with this crap.

I had a good experience with them last year. But ask them to set up a late afternoon service window and forget it. I called to confirm an appointment at 3:30 PM. They confirmed it. I didn’t hear from them until 8:45 PM when they told me there was an unexpected issue at a customer’s home. They weren’t sure when they would get out to my house. I rescheduled for the next day. I called at 5 PM to confirm someone would be here and was told it would be «several more hours.» I am still waiting.
These people clearly do not responsibly schedule or prioritize (or communicate) with their customers. I would strongly advise finding an alternative service shop if possible unless you enjoy being held hostage waiting for them to show up. Absolutely dreadful service to their customers.

Crap — Big Tex heating and air conditioning doesnt even service anything. All they are is a coordinator for a bunch of mexican day laborer /​independent contractors. The assholes that didnt install my system correctly are followed by different ones that also didnt repair it correctly and now theyll send some other assholes try to fix it again.

They surprised me! I have not had good experiences with several other HVAC companies. My new home listed Big Tex AC as our subcontractor who installed our system when our home was built 3 years ago. When our heat stopped working, I called on a Sunday & in less than 24 hours, they were at my door. The technician (George Jr.) was so efficient & done before an hour! He answered all my questions & actually explained in detail what the problem was. Cheapest bill I’ve ever gotten for such good work too! I’ll be calling them again.

horrible service. it is 50 degrees outside and 59 inside my brand new 2 day old house.
i called them and they claim they have no available service techs (hire more people).
promised service at noon the next day Saturday and it is now 6:37 pm and nobody showed yet.
their «emergency» phone number is only good Monday to Friday 9 – 5.
i have been royally screwed by my home builder getting me stuck with them but if you have a choice, run!

Horrible! Air conditioner quit working in hot Houston in July. They don’t consider it as emergency. It took them over 48 hours to come to have a look at it and then tech said that the part needs to be ordered and will take another 3 – 4 days at least to get the part. Highland homes should find another company for air conditioning.

If you use them, you are just asking for trouble. Unfortunately, they are the Big Dogs in Houston, doing most homes. However, the money is in service, and yet they treat us all like crap.
I will tell you, the technicians have always been really good guys, going out of their way to help out (used them about 6 times in the last 4 years) but their office, billing and scheduling is horrible. When you need them most, they will turn you down and leave you high and dry (or very hot, literally and figuratively).
In terms of service, AC guys are a dime a dozen and a warranty is with your unit, not the service guy, so do yourself a favor and go elsewhere.
