CCS Paving

Agree, wish I could give negative stars. These people are crooks. Let me add to the aliases used by CCS Paving Group: Farrah’s Concrete Design. Farrah’s company contracted the work through Thumbtack. Farrah has only a cell phone contact number, which she does not answer and has no mailbox set up for messages. Previous references to McGowen Construction, emanate from the self proclaimed «CEO» of CCS Paving Group, David McGowen (self-​proclaimed on Facebook and Twitter). Jason is the field guy who comes out and bids the jobs. His business card reflects that he represents CCS Paving, but the card does not have his name, nor does it have an address for CCS. (You will not find a physical address for any of the companies or businesses discussed). This fiasco began on Sunday May 1^st when Jason came by to pick up $ 2,300 in cash. Over the following week, Jason sent text messages stating my job was scheduled and would be poured on three different occasions, all cancelled. Each time Jason would say the concrete is priced too high. On Friday, May 10^th, Farrah called me (caller I.D. was blocked). She offered excuses, but said my job would be done on Saturday. I told her fine, but if it was not done to just bring my money back. On Saturday, a crew (Pedro Construction) showed up at 7:00 AM, prepared the area, laid the vapor barrier, tied the steel and was ready for the concrete that Jason said would arrive at 10:00 AM on Saturday, May 7^th. No concrete ever showed. Pedro and I called and sent text messages to Jason, to no avail. Hours later, Jason finally sent a text saying the concrete plant had closed at 1:00 PM and he was in the hospital. Never over the course of this event would Jason or Farrah answer their phones. Pedro told me his crew was hired by Jason (site unseen) off the internet. He had never met Jason, but was promised $ 800 to prepare for pouring and finish the concrete. Pedro left unpaid as I had already given Jason $ 2,300 up front (cash) as a 60% down payment and his contract was with CCS Paving. I have since talked to Pedro, he has not been paid and cannot make contact with any of these people. His exact words to me «These people are stealing money from everybody». On Monday, May 10^th, I started anew trying to reach Farrah and Jason. I finally sent them a text notifying them of «breech of contract», as no one would answer their phone or respond to text queries. I could not go on indefinitely being held hostage by promised dates that never came to fruition. Jason responded to this text, saying he had ordered concrete for later in the week, but would now have to reconsider, after seeking counsel, and get back with me. Obviously another delay tactic and the last straw considering I was looking at a second week of lies and deception. I told him not to worry about getting back with me as they were FIRED! I will seek getting my money back through the legal system. I have more homework to do, but I have a suspicion the concrete price was either elevated because of their bad credit, or they wouldn’t sale to them at all. Lessons learned: 1) If any of these people have their mouths moving, they are lying and 2) they have absolutely zero values.

These guys are reliable and professional. I called them and they gave me a fair price, they were at my house within a couple of days after permitting and laid out my new concrete in my backyard. Dave and his team were great!

Second what E. B. had to say. These people do lousy work had mine done in 2009 and the next day there were cracks every where and they refused to repair!

DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THESE PEOPLE. They are crooks, who take your money for ‘material and labor’ but then dont pay their subcontractors – basically they take your money and run and leave you to handle all the people who did the work or supplied material for the job.
