I was highly disappointed with my meal from Checkers, my friend who is from New Orleans went on and on about how good the restaurant is in New Orleans, but I told him this was a major disappointment and I wanted my money back !!! My friend and I ordered the # 10 combo which is a big crispy chicken sandwich. 2 medium meals for like a 14 bucks, so I pull into a parking spot to eat and first off the sandwich bread was half toasted, my friends on the other end was perfectly toasted(may not be a big deal to some people, but it was to me !) next the sandwhich was so dry !! I needed more mayo !! BUT, the flip side the fries were pretty good !! I don’t think I will be coming to this establishment any more, first and last ! I am anticipating on visiting this establishment in New Orleans although :-)

I only went here because I missed New Orleans and rally’s. Checkers is a disgrace to mankind. I ordered a bacon cheeseburger thinking nobody can mess this up. They did though, by not giving me a bacon cheeseburger. My burger had 1 patty, wet ketchup, and 1 string of old purple onion. I would have chilled if there was at least cheese on it, but I digress … On the contrary my fries and dr. Pepper were poppppppppiiinnnggg.

Last time i ate at Checkers was 10 years ago when i was living in Atlanta. When i found out Checkers had come to Houston i knew i had go over there get it. I ordered the baconzilla combo and food was hot and fresh and tasted good too just like how i remembered it. Hopefully more Checkers come to the Houston area soon. I will definetly come back more often now.

I used to go to checkers in Beaumont all the time but I haven’t lived there since 2002. Dear lord the fries are so friggin good! The burger was just okay but I never went to checkers for their burgers in the first place. They forgot the jalapeños I asked for, too, but they definitely charged me for them.

The food is always fresh and customer service is awesome. Just be patient because the line is always long during lunch hour but well worth the wait!!!

Well I came back for the Big Buford and now I can see why it has its fans — it was tasty. The sauce makes it reminiscent of a Big Mac but the bun and meat make it different. For my palette I still prefer a Big Mac or Whopper, but the Big Buford was pretty good. 3 stars is my cumulative review — the Spicy Chicken sandwich tasted great but looked terrible. Despite tasting pretty good, the denseness of the smushed double fish sandwich took away from the experience. The fries are unique and really good. Bottom line? Checkers is decent but does not make my top of 10 list of fast food places.

I’ve literally been waiting YEARS for Houston to finally get a Checker’s! I’ve been in Orlando, Detroit and Beaumont every time I head East. I was shocked as hell when I was telling a friend about Checkers and discovered there is FINALLY one here! And close to my house too! I always get the #3 Baconzilla meal, complete gluttony but it’s soooo good! And those FRIES! I randomly bought the frozen fries a few years ago because they were cheaper than Ore-Ida and fell in love so I thought to myself«if the frozen fries are this amazing, I can’t wait to try them fresh!» Kind of a crappy area, but hopefully that won’t deter people from going. I’ll definitely keep visiting!

Worth the wait glad they are finally back. Food just as good as I remembered. Make sure you are packing a $ 20 when you arrive there is a big price difference from when they were here years ago not their fault thanks inflation. Enjoy because we did.

I remember eating Checkers and Rally’s when I was a kid. I was super happy to see they were coming back to Houston. The burger tasted exactly how I remembered it, delicious! The fries were similar but I felt were a little over seasoned. I ordered a double meat burger combo with fries and it was just over $ 8. The burger isn’t as big as I’d say the double meat quarter pounder at mcdonalds, or even whataburger’s burger. However, it’s delicious in its own right. The fries are definitely better than most fast food burger places, however I do think they need to tone down the seasoning just a tad.

Not impressed with their chocolate milkshake! I’ve had WAY better(and am on a mission to try most shakes in Houston). It had a marshmallow aftertaste(and I like marshmallows) and it’s weird to say, but wasn’t really cold/frozen feeling as I drank it. Maybe it is just a type of chocolate I’m not a fan of??? I don’t know, but I will not be back for dessert. I am willing to try their burger and fries though.

This was my first time ever eating here! I loved it, the seasoned fries were the best I’ve ever had! The burger was good but nothing to rave about. I also tried the apple pie it was hot and fresh. All in all on a scale 1 – 10 I give them a 9! They need to open more locations on the north side.

Decided to try this location today and pretty disappointed with it. Service was good, but the quality of the food is lacking. Ordered a big Buford combo with fries and a strawberry shake. The burger patties were overly-salty but lacking other seasoning and tasted a bit watery(i.e. Frozen patties). The fries were over-seasoned and greasy. The shake was watery with a little too much strawberry flavoring added in a glop without proper mixing. I also added a chili cheese dog which came with a rubbery hot dog wiener. Completely unimpressed and will not visit this location again unless food quality improves drastically.

Absolutely thrilled that we have a checkers ! Also known as Rally’s. It’s absolutely delicious and better than I remember it. The big Buford is on point and the fries are amazing! And since we live in Texas we get a Texas BIGBUFORD! Yup we are special! They have wings, a great selection of chicken choices and they have shakes! And ice cream sundaes! This place has everything and the service is great. Hope it stays great they were fast and delicious! I will be coming back! Definitely took me back to my Cali days

The deep sea double fish filet sandwich is delicious. It’s kind of like a Mcdonald’s fish filet but with an extra piece of fish. I also ordered a bacon cheddar burger which was part of a 2 for $ 5 deal. The burger was ok, the fries were very good. I want to try some of their other menu items soon.

The baconzilla cheeseburger is the best. The seasoned fries remind me of the curly fries from Jack in the Box. The Coke is a little flat. Only outdoor seating available and even that is limited. I feel sorry for the Wendy’s next door because the burgers here are the real deal. Even better than Whataburger. Yeah I went there.
