Community Self Storage

We rented several units at this location for two years. I do not have enough space to tell you how many problems we had. We used their site to pay our bill monthly. an «Unknown» employee went into that site and debited the amount I was in the process of paying on the 1^st of the month! I gave them NO permission. We had to change our bank account because of these people! We have had to prove two separate months that we paid on their site! Why? I did not trust them as far as I could see them. I had to take my bank papers there to prove I paid it!!! Why? When moving out we had to use flashlights to move because the lights were out on our isle. That has happened so many times… I got up to the floor and no lights… had to use cell phone flashlight to get into my unit. They have new people regularly. I paid every single month on the first… never late. I was called at least three times on the weekend by weekend crew wanting my payment when it was already posted. Each time I had to get the manager involved. They attempted to charge me late fees several times when I paid either early or on time. One thing after the other. We moved out of one of the units at half the month… we got no refund! They rented it in two days. Beware… do not move out until end of the month or your rent time… because they turn around and re-​rent AND YOU GET NOTHING BACK! This place is chaotic… I was very fearful many months that the staff would screw up and I would lose everything we owned. We went by and checked on our stuff weekly. I did not trust anyone there… they do not know what they are doing. The price went up regularly. one unit after the other. Very greedy owner who sits in office off of the main office. I would not rent from these people again if I had to store anything. Now there are apartments and a dog kennel next door. And large rat traps around everywhere… indicating there may be a rat problem. I am sure management will dispute all of this… I am telling the absolute truth.
They are terrible!!!

The truck they gave us was clean. The people were nice even at the beginning when getting the truck. The problem comes after returning the truck and getting my receipt, I see I have been overcharged. They said I had the truck for an extra 6 – 7 days, when I picked it up and dropped it off to the same lady all on the same day. At first I charged it go a innocent mistake but after many calls and being given the run around, I go up there and still get no resolution and they keep pushing me to the side. Customer Service is big to me and I can’t take not even trying to satisfy me.

I work in the area and had to use them for a short period of time. The staff was very friendly and no problems. :)

The prices are reasonable, but the employees are very unprofessional. If only the owner knew the way they treated the customers– he would be very disappointed. Rude, and could care less about their job.

It’s unfortunate that the other reviews do not mention the primary service that Community Self Storage provides. As denoted in the name, they are primarily a storage facility.
When I needed to move most of my things to a storage unit, I did some careful research and decided to pay a little extra for a unit here. I looked at other places such as Public Storage, and the facilities don’t even compare.
At Community Self Storage, you have a very secure gate code and pin to get into and out of the facility. There is always ample parking. All units are temperature controlled, and everything is clean and immaculate. Moving things around is already stressful enough– I never had to worry about rain or being too cold or hot when I was trying to arrange and organize my things. The front desk administration is always friendly and helpful, and they have ²⁴⁄₇ video surveillance as well as individual unit alarms for extra protection for your things. I felt extremely confident about the safety of my stored items. You can come at any time to access your storage unit, even when the office is closed.
The only thing to make sure to take notice of is that the monthly rate is not prorated– you do not get refunded on rent you pay for a month if you decide to cancel early.

I have always used Uhaul for all of my moves and this location was by far the worst experience I’ve ever had with Uhaul. I thought given the location I would get 5 star service and this was not the case. The location itself was very attractive and highly secure. My rental truck and supplies were what I’m use to, but the service was the worst. They were not only rude to me, but they were rude to my husband and sweet mother. My truck was suppose to be rented for the entire day and I’m not sure if it was a computer mistake, my own mistake, or the company just trying to rent the truck out again for more moeny… but I didn’t get my rental for the entire day. This is fine, I understand things happen and it could have totally been my fault. But the women working said she would give me a call in 30 mins to let me know if there was anyway for me to have it all day. I never got that call. I had to go back up there to get my answer. When the truck was returned clean and with more gas then it started with I asked about still using the dolly’s and moving blankets that we had rented for the rest of the day even though we couldn’t use the truck. The man working just said «No». No explanation as to why even thought the store was full of them. He didn’t say they were booked for the rest of the day. He didn’t say I could rent them for an extra fee. Just no, and brushed me off. He then let me know that I needed to bring the dolly’s and blankets in myself and did not offer to help despite my mother being elderly and myself being obviously pregnant. The icing on the cake is that they then somehow over charged me. I have no idea how they did this since I was standing there and have the receipt, but they did. It was clear as day on my bank activity. Then two days later they refunded the entire thing, then two days after that recharged me the original amount. I’m never one to complain about places being someone who works for delivery services and specializes in customer service, but if my small review can help prevent others from having this same experience on a day thats probably already stressful for them (moving to a new home, or needing to store belongings) I’m here to say find another Uhaul place. I used one in a really shady area of Houston when I first moved here and got the most amazing customer service. I wasn’t pregnant at that time and the Uhaul guy helped me bring in all supplies and was just sweet as pie from begining to end. So, I’m not sure why this super nice one is greatly lacking in the most basic kindness associated with running any business, but they are. And your moving day and storage is best done at a more friendly location.
