Community Self Storage

I rented a unit at Community Self Storage for about 5 years. I rented space in their «basement» and was told by the owner that the price would never increase because my unit was in the «basement». In addition, they have a truck that they say you can «use» almost any time as long as it is available. Needless to say, none of this was true, they went up on their price EVERY year, in 5 years, the price was nearly double, and they no longer allow their tenants to «use» their truck unless you pay a fee. Service started out good, but went downhill fast. I would not recommend this business.

I can’t vouch for this company’s storage facilities but I can when it comes to their Uhaul rental truck services.
This place doesn’t even deserve one star. I made a reservation earlier this week for a 10ft Uhaul truck at this location. I received an email today (the day before my trip) that they reserved me a 15ft truck at the Hobby Airport location… I called to ask why I didn’t have a truck on Washington and they said they don’t guarantee Uhaul reservations and that the closest truck available was at Hobby… Not at all close!!! I called their call center to remedy the situation and they said they could give me a truck in Katy… Again, not at all close!!! Do yourself a favor and skip this disorganized company. I called Penske rentals and had a truck reserved down the street from my house immediately!

Poor management. They will change prices and policies and will not notify you of such until they begin billing you for it and then will expect you to pay.

The staff here are pretty nice and they keep this place pretty clean. I had the storage for good amount of time before I moved to a different location because it was a little far for me. The price for the storage is a little bit more expensive than I wanted to spend. I’m sure you can find a little bit better and cheaper options but I would still consider this storage place for my stuff because they to keep it safe.

Awesome storage place so far. Good security, easily accessible, excellent rates compared to others in the area, and clean clean clean. I’ve looked around the area for sometime and this has to be the best place hands down.
Hopefully I won’t need a storage unit much longer but I’m glad i found this place

After our other storage unit got broken into at West Oaks U-​Haul, we had to make a move so we searched to the most convenient place and came across Community Storage on Washington Avenue. The price was slightly higher but the the staff, location and the quality of the grounds more than made up for the price. They offer one month free so after the first payment the bill is not due for two months. The best part is that they offer to let you use a rental truck for free to move in! Factoring in what it would have cost to use a rental truck, this benefit more than paid for the savings at another storage place.

I have been doing business here for over year. Renting their trucks mainly. Today I found myself in a bind and their amazing costumer service moved me to write this review. The assistant manager there Sandi went out of her way help me with a last minute scheduling conflict. I have always found the staff to be friendly and helpful, treating me always with respect. Highly recommend this place.

This was my first storage unit I’ve rented and I must say I was impressed. The place is clean and the staff is very friendly and willing to help. I would highly recommend this location to anyone needing self storage. They take all types of payment and can set up automatic payments so you don’t miss any.

I had a unit in the basement for almost 3 years. Glen (manager) and his wife were always easy to work with and friendly. When I moved out I forgot to stop my auto payment with my bank and they cheerfully sent my overpayment back to me. If I every need a storage unit in the future I will be going back to Community.

Do Not sign up for automatic billing. They do not know how to properly debit accounts. Rude management. I have called multiple times to adress issues and never been responded to.

Very friendly staff at this location as well as at the Voss location. Convenient location and the security measures are a real plus. I highly recommend CST.

Great people, great location (Washington) and always friendly service. I forgot to lock my storage unit and received a phone call the next day as a courtesy. Recommended if you need storage.

I would give this place a 3.5 stars if I could but I can’t do half stars on Unilocal!
Staff:
Very friendly, you can tell its family owned. Slow to respond on e-​mails, but nice when spoken to in person.
Location:
Great location for in town. Convenient, up to date and kept very clean. Very safe as it is gated security with your own personal passcode.
Price:
When it comes to storage the only thing that really concerns you is location and price. I’ve already said good things about the location, however, the price really is what makes this place a bit too high for my taste.
Very pricey when it comes to storage facilities. Their basic rate is probably slightly less than $ 200 for a storage room per month. However, if you are a new tenant you can get 50% off. If you are an existing tenant, they only give you 2 months free on a 12 month lease. I think the pricing point is dead on if they give you the 50% off, but anything more than that is over priced.
Overall, the facilities are quality indoor facility in the inner loop directly off of washington. If money isn’t a concern store here. If you are storing for a short period of time, store here because you can get a decent deal for good quality. If you need a storage facility for a prolonged period of time, may want to look at other places for better prices.
