Brad was awesome! Our AC wasn’t cooling very well so we contacted one larger company that no called/​showed.
I messaged Courtesy on Unilocal and Brad got back to me within minutes! He was at our home within 2 hours. He was very nice, professional & a great price to boot. I highly recommend them and will definitely use them again in the future.

We could not have found a better HVAC team to work with. Brad Sheldon and his company were heads and shoulders above the many competitors we screened for the total replacement of two A/​Cs and one furnace. We thought the 2d furnace had to go to but Brad very honestly pointed out that it was not required, saving us a great deal of money.
The installation was complete in one day which also included all duct work. Cruz and team were very professional and thorough. Professional, even though they are specialized in commercial, they were very accommodating to the many questions I had. The gentlemen took his time to explained to me about their process and kindly make recommendation to me to me.

Courtesy was great! The guys were prompt and quick with determining the root cause of the problem. They even drove across town to get the part that was needed so we’d have A/​C that night. After getting the part, they explained what had happened and were quick with the repair. I would highly recommend this company and would use them again.

First off I have no experience in HVAC.
Today I woke up and to my dismay I heard a loud hissing sound coming from my a/​c vent where air is sucked in from the house. I went up to the attic and the inside a/​c unit was shaking and hissing like it was about to blow up or something.
At 830am I checked Unilocal for some good reviews on A/​c Service companies which I’m glad I did, had it not been for Unilocal I would have called John Moore or ABC Home Services just because of the fact that they spend so much money on advertising just so they can be the 1^st to pop into my head when I need something. Thanks to Unilocal I saw that many of their clients felt like they were being sold whole ac units when all that was needed was actually just a $ 150 compressor or something similar. Reading those reviews painted a picture of a company preying on a customer without the knowledge to know better, someone like me. What a nightmare.
Anyways I called and spoke to about 7 of the top reviewed companies on Unilocal.Most of them said they could make it out the same day but Tom from Courtesy actually said he could have someone out within an hour. That was awesome!
Sure enough at 920am Robert calls and says hey Im on my way. He showed up at 10am looking presentable in a van marked air conditioning so that was good. Its always weird letting a stranger into your home but he was friendly and courteous which made the process more comfortable. He went straight to the attic, took the cover off of the ac unit and within a few minutes, he told me I needed a new motor, blower wheel, and capacitor. He gave me a very competitive price which I agreed to. He said «Okay, I’ll be back in a few hours».
At 2pm I get a call from Robert saying «I’m on the way.» Which was courteous of him to do that. I appreciated it. He showed up, went to the attic and within 20 minutes he was done.
Few things to mention that I liked. He had a professional receipt book in which to write out a itemized receipt (not everyone does this). He had magnets with company logo and contact info to go on the fridge. He even gave me warranty on the parts and labor from today.
As of now my a/​c system sounds and feels just like it did before all the problems started, I’ll update you fine folks, if it doesn’t stay that way.
It’s never easy to open your wallet for a surprise disaster but it helps tremendously when their are good people willing and able to help. Thanks Robert, for the great experience.

The lead technician Robert came very quickly in my time of need as it was after hours when my AC went out. Professional, honest, and fast service!

Had an AC problem in my rental property on a Sunday (Memorial weekend). I called these guys, had them coordinate with tenant, and thats it, its done. Though I cannot comment yet on the quality of work since I am writing this just the day after the work was done, what I can say is that the service was quick and efficient. I asked them to email me the invoice/​work order and I got it promptly. Professional and hassle-​free. Thanks to Brad and Willie.

For over a year I knew my a/​c was limping on its last and very tired legs. I knew I wanted to establish a relationship with a family owned company and found Courtesy through various reviews, Angie’s List, and the BBB. Brad arrived at the appointed time, evaluated my system, and made recommendations. The pricing, installation, and fees were all on target with research I had conducted and so I pulled the trigger and purchased a new coil and condenser. Brad arranged an installation team and once installed I am happy and cool with my new system.
Pros: Brad was professional, approachable, and took great care in explaining various aspects of the hvac system.
Pricing was on point with competitors.
Local, family owned company.
Install team did a fantastic job taking great care to clean up after themselves and did a neat job. In my install the hvac team had to remove a fence and coordinate with my neighbor. The fence was taken down and put back up and is nicer now than it was before. KUDOS.
Cons: The install team was late in arriving. However, Brad was in communication with me throughout the day and honestly, if you are having a new hvac installed you should plan on being around for a while. These things are not plug and play.
I will use Courtesy Air Conditioning & Heating again when it is time to install a new furnace and recommend them without hesitation.

I just had the BEST experience with Courtesy AC! I came home to find a ring of water on one of my bedroom’s ceiling and knew instantly that there was a problem with either my AC or plumbing. As I’m sure you all know, both can get quite expensive very quickly.
I reached out and called Courtesy AC. The phone was answered with promptness and the gentleman was very friendly. He said a technician would call me within 30 minutes to schedule an appointment and they did. I spoke with Brad. Brad was nice and accommodating. He made room for me on his schedule and came right away. This was on a Friday evening, by the way and I did NOT get charged an extra fee because of the time.
Brad came in and it took him one look to tell me what was going on. He flushed out my lines and was done in a matter of 15 minutes! He also took the time to educate my Partner and I on how to keep our AC from building back up again. I learned a lot. As a first time home-​buyer, I found this comforting and educational.
Also, they were VERY AFFORDABLE… let me repeat: VERY AFFORDABLE. I just found my new «AC Guy, Brad.». I am happy to refer him to my family and friends. Extremely satisfied.

Robert and Robert finally made it out and repaired the fuse on the air conditioner. Robert Sr. really knows his stuff. he has been in the business a long time and is very knowledgeable. Told me to check in with him after several days to make sure everything was working OK. Would recommend this company.

This time I had Rob & Rob. Father-​son partnership, they did a great job!
1. It was pretty late in the evening when I had my AC breakdown. Water all over the place. I randomly pulled up Unilocal and saw very few business open, Courtesy Air was one of them. I called, Tom picked up the phone, assuring me there will be a technician calling me in 10 minutes. In a few minutes someone called, that’s Rob.
2. Rob said he was in the middle of a job, and once finished he will come over. And he did. They did a quick walk around, explained the situation and reason. Fairly quickly they came up a solution to stop the water leakage. At that point I was already very satisfied.
3. They explained to me to have things properly fixed (my AC wasn’t installed in the right way, but someone ‘I know’). they need to make a return trip the next day. We arranged the time for the coming day, they called before heading over my way, and showed up with all the tools. Within 1.5 hour as promised, job fully completed.
Rob and Rob, throughout the whole process, were professional, honest, quick to the point, and they get things done! They told me they had 35 years of experience working in this field, definitely a pair of old hands. Five star service, never a question.

The guy showed up on time as promised and to me that is a big deal. So, for being on time and the really nice service guy, I give them credit.
Their guy was here for about 15 minutes after I pointed him to the condenser unit that was not coming on. Pretty quickly he determined that the fan motor was not working. He then quoted me $ 720 to replace the motor (including labor). He estimated that it would take him about 1 hour to install.
If it had been anything less than $ 300 I would usually just say go for it. But $ 720 to me seems like a price that demands some bids and/​or a second opinion. I paid the guy for his service call ($ 59.95) and decided to go online to investigate further before calling him back.
With the model number I looked up the Fan Motor and in one call I found a great AC supply store just 10 minutes away from my house that had the right fan motor for $ 87. I went down there and got the motor ($ 87) plus the recommended capacitor ($ 5). I looked online for instructions on how to install it and in less than 20 minutes it was done. The AC works perfectly.
So, I went from the $ 720 quote from Courtesy AC & Heating to $ 92 and 20 minutes of my time (plus the $ 59.95 diagnosis/​service call). That much of a spread seems a bit excessive to me — maybe their motor was fancier? I don’t know. I probably would have been happy to pay around $ 300 to have them do the job, but $ 720 for what I was able to do for $ 92 (plus the $ 59 diagnosis) seemed wrong.

I recently purchased a 1920’s bungalow with an AC & Heating unit that was around 15 years old. With the intention to replace the whole system, i called several AC & Heating companies to come out and give me a quote. Out of the ones i called, Courtesy was by far the most friendly and informative of the group. Brad came out and took a good look at what I had and explained in great detail what probably should be replaced and what can be reused. I never got the vibe that Brad was trying to push me something that I did not need. After doing my due diligence, the price that i was quoted was well within my estimates and fair.
As for the installation, Courtesy came in on a Saturday morning around 9AM and got to work right away. They made an extra effort to not make a mess in my house by placing floor mats down. They finished the job in around 3 – 4 hours and everything looked great! Very professionally done. They cleaned up what little mess they made and were on there way.
After a week of usage, I have zero complaints. My new system is working as it should and i am now a lot more comfortable in my home.
I highly recommend Courtesy and i will almost certainly use them again in the future.

This place is conducting unethical business practice. My ac was low on freon and got a guy from this place come over. Appointment was 1pm and never show up until 6pm after several calls. The tech pump some freon and said it was 8 lbs. really? If you know ½ thing about ac, a small leak doesn’t take 8lbs. 8 lbs will take about an hour charge/​fill. It took this crook about 10 seconds at most (yes I was standing next to him acting like I don’t know anything about ac). Also the guy didn’t even measure superheat/​supercool value to determine the correct level of freon/​pressure to charge. I have all the equipment and the knowledge to do this. I just don’t have the license that’s why I hired this company. Next time I’d just do it myself.
Btw they charge line $ 29/​lb for the 410a. Which is the newer freon. You can buy the whole bottle from Sam’s for $ 84 (22 lbs bottle).

We moved into our 2-​story circa-​1940 house in 2012 knowing full well from our home inspection that the furnace was on its last leg, the insulation was non-​existent, the windows were original, etc. The winter of 2013 was a particularly cold one and we discovered that the downstairs of our house literally became unliveable if the outside temperature dropped below 50 degrees. It was like a meat locker. The upstairs would get nice and toasty because the furnace was in the attic. But the downstairs was the same temperature as outside or colder. We would get home from work and be forced to just go hang out upstairs in our bedroom it was so unbearable. We finally decided to do something about it this year since we have a baby on the way.
Brad spent almost 2 hours at our house determining the best course of action to remedy the problem. Our house was not an easy fix. Everything about our house is ghetto-​rigged. The ductwork was all crap. The furnace was crap. I could go into a lot of detail but suffice to say, everything was crap and the way the HVAC system was all designed was crap. After evaluating all of the issues he was dealing with Brad said he had to talk to his main guy, Cruz, and then he’d send me an estimate for the job, which he did do a few days later. When he sent the estimate it came back significantly lower than the one other bid I had received so we accepted the bid and the team came out to do the work on a Saturday. The team got there around 10:00 a.m., spent a couple of hours ripping everything out of the attic, left to go buy parts, returned around 1:00 p.m. and stayed until about 7:00 p.m. to get the job done. The results were exactly as they should be — we now have heat! On the day of the job they ended up putting in a 5-​ton furnace instead of the 4-​ton furnace quoted in their bid at no extra charge after they determined that the 5-​ton furnace would better suit the odd layout of our house.
My only disappointment with Courtesy Air is as follows:
It was determined that in order to get the huge old furnace out of the attic and the new furnace in the attic, they needed to remove the fold-​down attic stairs and drop-​down access door and the molding around it. Brad warned me that Cruz and his team were not carpenters and that they could not promise that when they put the stairs and door back that it would be perfect; he also warned that some touch-​up paint might be needed around the opening. Although we were warned, I was unhappy that the re-​attached attic door would not close and Cruz’s solution was to drill it shut with a screw. And indeed; the paint needs some touch-​up work now; it’s still all scuffed up on the ceiling around the opening. So I still need to hire a carpenter to fix all of this. So that sucks. I really do understand that they’re not carpenters and that they warned us but it still sucks to have to spend more money to fix this now. That said, Courtesy Air’s bid was so much lower than the other bid I received I think that makes up for it.

I called & spoke with Brad at 3:15 PM while driving my son to swim lessons. My A/​C had stopped cooling during the hours I was away from home and it was getting uncomfortably warm fast. Luckily, I had someone at my house, available to let him In. He called me back within 20 minutes, was at my house in another 20 and had my A/​C repaired before I got home. Excellent service! I highly recommend this company. I will refer Courtesy to my neighbors & friends! Thank you, Courtesy! Bravo! Well Done!

I haven’t purchased their services but I’m posting!
My A/​C (typical 3 story Houston home) is cold but the volume of air from the vents
has been lighter. I contacted several local companies and all were «happy» to provide service, a some even offered «promotional rate» for yearly servicing (pathetic). I called Courtesy Air Conditioning & Heating explained my issue and was given advice over the phone. Wait… WHAT? This company actually focuses on the issue and not on billing potential? Now that’s impressive and trustworthy. Thank you Courtesy Air Conditioning & Heating.

This is a family run business and they really know their stuff. They went out of their way to accommodate me because my AC ran out with a 5 month old baby in the house, and I am so grateful. They were extremely professional and affordable, and I highly recommend them.

My a/​c went out so I called these guys because they were close and because of the other previous reviews. I told the guy what was wrong and he told me to try a couple of things that might fix the problem and PRESTO, a/​c fixed over the phone. The guy was very friendly and I know if I actually need a tech to come out, these will be the people I call.
Well my a/​c actually did go out a while back and I knew exactly who to call. They came and gave us a very competitive estimate for a quality Ruud a/​c unit. They came to install it the next morning and everything worked great!

Once again, Coutesy Air Conditioning came through with flying colors! This time it was Brad who expertly diagnosed our air conditioning problem quickly and had us up and running quickly. He even knew we needed an electrician’s service before we could do any repair. I had another company come out to diagnose the problem and he did not know anything about the electrical service I needed in order for the air conditioner to work! He would have cost me $ 900 for repair on my old unit! I have used Courtesy since 1992 and would have no other. If they do not call you back right away, just hold on. They will call and it will be worth your wait!
However, I do not recommend Robert. He tends to profit from increased prices for any item you buy from him. However, he does know what he is doing technically.
