I am jealous of all my Houston people rubbing it in my face that it’s crawfish season. When crawfish season is in its prime, this place can get crazy packed. Crawfish are fairly priced, and the staff are friendly. Because it is in a busy Chinatown shopping center, parking can suck. Be warned. Crawfish étouffée is good, but not as good as Pappadeaux. I highly recommend ordering the fish sauce wings. You will not be sorry. I could live off that stuff.

The best crawfish in town. I’ve had a lot of crawfish from a lot of different places, but this one has been consistently good. Not only is it good when it’s in season, but it’s also just as juicy, big, and tasty when it’s frozen! They do not jip you on the crawfish too by weighing the juices… a lot of places do that. I am salivating as I am writing the review!

I have been a huge fan of them for a long time. I did venture off and went to places with the fancy smancy sauces for crawfish for a while. I still like that but sometimes you just need the real original Cajun style. They totally deliver here with that. I like coming here better then some Cajun establishments because of the condiments that comes with it. The seasoning is just right to me and the sizes are always good. It’s a good mix of mediums and large. They have been around for a long time and are always consistent. Fast service, hot and delicious food, and nice staff. As for the name, they started out years ago offering beignets but the crawfish business just took over and the beignets was stuck. Fortunately, Chez Beignets is close by.

Not the best but good flavor. Size is a bit small but crawfish season is gone so i dont expect some gigantic ones as big as my palm, or at least two-thirds of my palm, which I have had! As of last Sunday, this place was still open(not sure about now) while my favorite, Jolynn’s Crawfish, had already been closed as they had no more good crawfish to sell… sad sad sad, wasnt it?!

Yes, it was pretty spectacular. Had to dock it 1 star b/c they didn’t have beignets at this location and they weren’t sure when/if they ever would… even though«Beignets» is in the name. Other than that, the crawfish is the normal«by the pound» ordering, they give you decently sized ones too, not tiny crawfish, and the poboys were nothing short of awesome. Interior, as with many Chinatown eateries, was pretty simple, which lends itself well to the type of cuisine(as things could get messy). Good: + decently sized crawfish +great poboys + fair pricing Not as good: — no beignets at a place named«Crawfish & Beignets»!!!

I walked in at 9:30pm looking for crawfish(after circling the area for a good 20 minutes looking for the place!), and they were friendly and sat me — even though they were closing in 30 minutes! Ordered 1.5lbs of crawfish spicy and the cajun rice. Steamed bag of crawfish showed up at the table within minutes. I grabbed some limes, made a dipping sauce from the various condiments made available to me, and went to town. Wish I had the foresight to put on a bib of some sort because I kept splattering myself with crawfish juices! The crawfish was spiced JUST right. Well, they were spicy, so my nose was running throughout. And my mouth and face just felt like it was on fire. My fingers are still tingling from the spice, several hours later. Whatever — SOGOOD! Man I wish they had crawfish like this in NY! Super friendly service, awesome food. And wicked cost effective! My dinner came out to just $ 18 for the crawfish and cajun rice(which I took half to go because it was a huge platter!).

If you like your crawfish big with lots of garlic than don’t come here! The crawfish I got were pretty average size which was disappointing since I was expecting to see some crawfish on steroids. Also the flavor was very disappointing, they only serve cajun flavor however spicy you like. I also got the garlic butter wings and it was overcooked which made the meat very tough. Overall, I was very disappointed.

Unlike other places in Bellaire that close on the random Tuesday, I was pleasantly surprised that this place was open when a few of us ventured down there to seek out some good crawfish. Like Christina N., I was amazed at how BIG the crawfish were here! Some of them seemed legitmately like mini lobsters! Current price was $ 5.99/lb.(End of April 2012) Flavor wise, it taste more cajun. The spiciness on the batches coming out varied, and kind of wish they put a little more spice to flavor the crawfish. The staff was very helpful and attentive.

4 stars only because they dont offer turkey necks :[ BUT i am in LOVEEEEEEE with their crawfish! the cajun flavor is on point & it brings out the flavor of the crawfish instead of masking it with all this buttery fatty stuff like boiling crap. we went 2 days in a row & ordered 5 lbs! we also got the cajun rice & fish sauce wings which were both deelish! i will def come back when i am in town! :] oh & the crawfish were HUGE. all of the crawfish were the size of my hand or even bigger!

This is a good spot if you’ve got your BYOB prepped in advance(you won’t be able to purchase beer/wine within the Don Huang shopping complex), and if you want fast service. We were excited to see that the crawfish were pretty sizable, but after a few tails, we realized that it’s light on flavor. We love it when the seasoning is super saucy and flavorful, so it’s likely we’ll continue our search for the next best crawfish hangout sans CB2. But, we”ll definitely want to try out their beignets when they’re back on the menu!

UGH! I wish I would have read the reviews before I went in. The do not serve Asian style crawfish– only Louisiana style… which to me is kinda boring. The crawfish was big, it came out quickly & it was hot. BYOB– I wish I would have known before I got there. They did not have beignets– scratching my head– why not? It is «Crawfish and Beignets»…weird. Anyways, the crawfish didn’t have enough flavor for me to go back although service was good [except when she splattered my friend’s white shirt with ketchup].

The restaurant title is really misleading… no beignets! I was really disappointed bc I had been craving beignets for a long time. Hopefully the next time I go back, they will have some! I got the 2 lbs of crawfish(mild spicy) and really enjoyed it. Very juicy and flavorful. The crawfish on top were really spicy but as I was finishing the bag, it got less and less spicy… maybe it was because my tongue was already numb! haha

Reading all these other reviews for Crawfish & Beignets 2, I was hoping to become an instant fan. Unfortunately, I’m not. Maybe I’ve been too brainwashed by other flavors(garlic butter) of crawfish that I just can’t appreciate simple cajun anymore. But then again, I’m a huge fan of the cajun at LA Crawfish so maybe it’s not me… The crawfish just didn’t have enough flavor for me. Seemed really plain and just didn’t give that satisfying feeling I usually get with crawfish. Also got an order of their sausages… meh. It’s the typical sausages I usually get at Krogers when I throw crawfish broils so nothing amazing there. I’ll need to try the other items on the menu next time I go, I believe in giving them a second chance! Even though the crawfish just wasn’t cutting it for me, I have to say, their fries were really awesome! I go nuts for crispy fries that aren’t too stuffeed with potato and it felt really nice to find another place I can go to to just order fries to-go!

Okay so the boyfriend and I had been craving crawfish for a week and when the weekend finally came around we had the choice of picking some usual place we go to down south where we stay, or driving up to bellaire for more of a selection. Obviously, we chose to drive up, because trusty Unilocal gave this place a 4.5 out of 5 stars. The place was new and clean, which was a plus. And no wait on a friday night! We ordered 12 lbs of crawfish and some fries. The boyfriend got the spicy and i got the mild. He said his was pretty good, but not spicy enough. So maybe next time he’ll one up it for extra spicy. My order was good too. Fries, the usual generic fries nothing special. Hmm what else? Oh i was kinda skeptical about making my usual dippin sauce, because the mayo and butter is left outside? Im pretty sure mayo thats not in a to go packet must be refrigerated after opening… They may want to look into that. As for the service. Our waitress seemed kind of rude. Every time she asked us a question or when we needed something we end it with a thank you or yes please. And yet we never got a no problem or your welcome?! I remember asking her for a few more pounds of crawfish please and she just looked at me and walked away then walked back with the food and dropped it on the table. Actually most of the things brought to us was just dropped on the table and walk away. :/bleh! Were we being to courteous and well mannered for the rude responses? Because she seemed really nice to the table beside us. Funny thing is, there was this other waitress that came by a couple times to ask us if we were okay, and she was super nice! She was like perky and happy and ready to serve. LOL i remember the boyfriend and i both turning to each other at the same time, saying can we trade waitresses and tip her instead. haha Overall, great crawfish, clean place, hit or miss on service. I would come again.

Crawfish were great — they were LA style, which was a good change from all the buttery garlic ones from other restaurants. My date and I got medium and spicy(spicy wasn’t too spicy). Also, the fried rice was pretty good. I’m giving Crawfish & Beignets 2 four stars because the service was really amazing. My drink was never half empty and the waitress seemed genuinely caring. I didn’t give the restaurant five stars because they don’t have beignets. Why call the restaurant Crawfish & Beignets, when there isn’t any beignet?

Get the crawfish! Get the cajun rice! Get the fish sauce wings!!! The crawfish is super good when it’s spicy. It came out steaming hot. I extremely like their seasoning to the crawfish. It’s the cajun flavor but a kick of the citrus flavor. Between the 3 of us we got 8 lbs. Suck the heads and eat the claws! The claws are meaty and you will get all the flavor and juice in it. The cajun rice is seasoned well. It has jalapenos, sausage, shrimp, and celery. The fish sauce wings may sounds gross but it was delicious. It doesn’t have a very fishy taste but instead a honey glazed kind of taste(sweet). The wings were made fresh and crispy. P. S. We stopped by Juicebox right after this and it’s a great remedy for the spiciness that remains in your mouth after the crawfish. :)

This was great, really it was, crawfish were good sized, the spices and seasoning does what it needs to do without overwhelming the taste buds. All around great. I can’t say enough about this place. Everyone can have their Boiling Crab and the long lines and the overhyping of their crawfish. I will gladly come back to this place again. The wings were great as well, we tried all the flavors but of course the main event is what you really need to worry about. And most definitely the crawfish they served brings home the gold. Side notes — Customer service is great and the staff is very attentive BYOB

Clean, huge crawfish. No dead ones in the mix. Very efficiently run and what I liked about this place was the happy family run service. Look, if they people running the restaurant are smiling and happy to serve their customers, heck, that’s a good sign to me. Just that alone makes a difference. I thoroughly enjoyed the crawfish tonight here. I will definitely come back and hopefully they will have beignets!!! +BIGGESTCRAWFISH I’VESEEN, HOUSTON! +$ 5.99 a pound(end of March 2012) + BYOB

**QUICKTIP** Lemon Pepper wings-it was ok Cajun Fried Rice-Delicious! French Fries-pretty good, just the average NOBEIGNETSATTHEMOMENT Crawfish was $ 5.99/lb. 2 adults & a kid for $ 43: 4;b crawfish, 6 wings, basket of fries plate of fried rice, one corn. not too bad and oh yea we ordred free water lol. This is what crawfish is suppose to taste like!!! Don’t get me wrong, I enjoy the garlicky, buttery sauces at majority of the crawfish joints. But eating too much of it is too much for me nowadays. I’m so glad they finally opened a new store. The first one is located inside of Hong Kong Market #4 food court. That place is so disgusting and filled with old drunks. They expanded their menu however, still no beignets :( Now on to the crawfish. At first I was kinda scared to eat it. because it looked so freaking plain… but nope. The flavor was all there… yum yum yum. If you don’t eat the crawfish head & use to eating the buttery flavored sauces, you will probaly think this place sucks. Unless you make your own dipping sauce to make up for it. my bf’s sister would tell me she didn’t like the sauces that most crawfish joint are serving because she can’t taste the natural freshness of crawfish meat. I thought she was missing out on the buttery sauces… until now I understand what she means. For the fillers: I ordered the Cajun Fried Rice, so good. there was sausage, ground beef, shrimp, and celery. Lemon Pepper WIngs, fried to perfection but lacking in flavor French Fries, its been awhile i ate a average fries thats pretty tasty. The staff were tentive and refilled our waters. The taste seems to be more flavorful than I last remembered from the original location. The sides were kinda pricey, but what do you expect, crawfish ain’t cheap lol. can’t wait to go back!

This is their new location in the Dun Huang Plaza. I stopped going to their old location for about a year because I hated the atmosphere in the HK Mall. But when I heard that they were going to relocate in my favorite food plaza, I was beyond excited! So my first visit back and I believed it was their first week of reopening. It’s a Friday during lent season and the place is packed. The servers(only 2 for the whole restaurant… ugh) were running around like chickens with their heads cut off. It took forever for them to come take our order. The order took forever to come out. And my fried rice came out wrong. I didn’t sent it back and just ate it but should have sent it back because it wasn’t good.(Sorry guys, rice was super dry & very little flavor.) Ice tea was not being refilled and I could go on & on about their mishaps. But at last, I don’t care about all their flaws because their crawfish is still the best in town! To be honest with you, my 4-star rating is all for the crawfish. They cook it Louisiana style unlike many of the other Bellaire crawfish places that cook it Asian style with lots of garlic & butter. This is authentic Louisiana style and since I’m a New Orleans girl, that’s the only way I like it! If you are craving for good crawfish, this is the place to go. If you’re craving for good fried rice, go somewhere else. Plain & simple.
