Dentistry on Kirby

I started going to the Dentistry on Kirby about a year ago and I must say that I have never had a poor experience. The staff is very welcoming and professional. They’re great at making you feel comfortable and they educate you about your teeth as they’re cleaning away.
Highly recommend this place!

Dr Taylor and staff are one of the hidden gems of this area. 4 years ago, I switched from my former dentist to have him fix some poor crown work. He is professional and has great bed-​side manner and his office is convenient to where I work. From each point of contact, I’m always treated like their number 1 client and I truly enjoy being treated like a human. They personally remind me of upcoming appointments and are willing to work with me when I have conflicts. They have a nice coffee/​wine bar in the lobby (yes I said wine) to help you relax while you’re waiting and I love the little gift boxes I get after each visit. Give them a try, you will thank yourself.

I genuinely don’t understand how this place still has a perfect 5 star review from every single person. Maybe it’s the massaging chairs? I don’t know.
Whenever I went, Dr. Taylor kept trying to sell me teeth whitening or other cosmetic things I wasn’t interested in. I came in for a cleaning and x-​rays. If something was genuinely wrong, speak to me about that. Otherwise, I’m really not interested. I told him this, but that didn’t stop him.
Whenever I was there, I knew I was the only one with an appointment, but they seemed to like to pretend to have other people there anyway? I knew this because I didn’t see anyone there, heard not even one peep, noise, cleaning tool, anything, and there weren’t any cars besides mine nearby. Can’t imagine people parking in the other side of the lot and walk a mile instead of up close. No one came when I was there, when I waited, or when I left. Strange and a bit shady, but whatever floats their boats. I think this place had just opened when I came, maybe? I don’t know.
On top of that, I felt like Dr. Taylor was really braggy. He kept bragging about places he has been and basically how awesome he is. He also kept calling me babe and sweetie which made me really uncomfortable. Is any of this really necessary? I just wanted him to clean my teeth!
Now, the kicker, and why mainly I don’t understand how people can give this place five stars. After having my less than stellar experience, I decided to try a new dentist (recommended to me by a colleague). It had been six months since my experience at Dentistry on Kirby, and my new dentist and dental assistant told me it looked like I hadn’t had my teeth cleaned in over a year. They were completely shocked when I told them I had gone six months ago and told me whomever did it didn’t do even a decent job of cleaning my teeth. I actually had to come back and do a deeper cleaning because of this!
I did like the dental assistant, who also ran the front desk. She was super friendly and the main reason why I haven’t written a review for them (which I knew wouldn’t be positive). That was 2 years ago now, and these people are still emailing and calling me after I’ve told them I have a new dentist and to please, please, please stop contacting me. They always say «We’ll take you off the list», but they clearly haven’t. The last time they called, I specifically told the person how many times I’ve asked for them to stop, how I didn’t have a good experience, and how I will write an honest, negative review if they don’t stop calling and emailing me. Just got a call a little over a week ago and another email today. True to my word, here you guys go!
I honestly feel like I’m being harassed by them. Stop calling me, dang it! Please!

Due to moving around quite a bit over my career I have experienced a lot of different dentist. Dr. Taylor is exceptional. He is not just a dentist, he is a prosthodonist, which is why I went to him originally to have a crown put on. The first shot he gave me was the least painful shot I have ever had, I literally didn’t even know he had done it. It was amazing and the crown he put on was a perfect fit as soon as it was placed in my mouth. My usual experience with crowns has been that normally requires lots of grinding and adjustment and after all that it is never quite right. I think Dr. Taylor is as good as it gets in the Dentistry field and he has an awesome staff as well.

I am in Houston for work and was overdue for a checkup and cleaning. I went in for an appointment on the basis of the reviews on Unilocal.Let me say that the reviews are accurate. I’m not the biggest fan of going to the dentist but this was as pleasant and rewarding as you can get. The office has super friendly staff and Dr. Taylor couldn’t have been more gentle, thorough, and professional. And his assistant, Jerry did a great job too.

Dr. Taylor was wonderful as were his office associates! Let’s be honest no one likes to go to the dentist. This dentist office has comfy massage chairs and great music! I went in for my cleaning and the next day I had my cavities filled which took 20 minutes. Fastest filling process ever.

It is bizarre to say «Woohoo» about a dental appointment; but meeting Dr Taylor was a pleasant experience. A tooth ache required attention and within 10 minutes of calling for an appointment, I was in. Dr. Taylor is competent as a professional; but genuine as a person. He is patient and thorough in his explanations of the problem. His course of action is for mutual benefit. His staff and office give a comfort level necessary for a visit. As an expert in sitting in a dental chair, I would highly recommend Dr Taylor for your dental needs.

Very professional, friendly, knowledge staff. They go out of their way to make sure you feel comfortable. There are no long waits and the office is very clean. I will definitely be back and also make sure to schedule my family’s appointments there as well.

I had a great experience. I have recently moved back to River Oaks and I needed to find a dentist asap. I called them at 9am in the morning and the staff was quick to schedule me 30 minutes later!
They were very professional! They even processed my insurance paper work asap too! Unlike my previous dentist, (who made me pay upfront first and then left it up to me to do my own insurance claim). Dentistry on Kirby did all my paper work for me!
Their office is very clean and very modern! The value you get for your money is truly worth it! I had two wisdom teeth taken out in a matter of minutes. They prep you with the nice sound of Jazz music and laughing gas, which helped me relax.

Love this place! Went for the first time last week for check up/​cleaning and then went back for 2 fillings. Very nice & comfy office. It’s a quiet & staff is kind.

I went for my first visit to Dr. Taylor (got in the next day of calling for an appt.)and I was pleased… very pleased. From the front desk guy (sorry didn’t get his name) to Kim to Kedra and then Dr Taylor. The office is something like a spa setting (that’s just the waiting area-​I didn’t spend much time there) even the trip down the hall got my stamp. There’s so much to say on how they treat you with so value. There was only 1 «eyebrow raise», but apparently not enough to give them less than a 5 star review. Try them… at least for a cleaning, the location is centrally perfect.
O, and by the way… they will put your favorite music on file for when you visit, how cool is that.
