My fiancé and I found DBD when we began looking for a company to design an engagement ring using antique jewelry passed down through my family. We could not be happier with the experience, from beginning to end. John responded to my initial email inquiry very promptly, and we had an appointment set up within the next week. His years of experience and expertise were obvious. My ring is more beautiful than I had imagined, and the entire process was comfortable, seamless, and simple. His pricing is extremely fair, transparent, and a detailed spec is sent to you for approval prior to ordering/​designing the ring. I will absolutely be returning to DBD for anything to do with jewelry in the future. I highly recommend John & DBD for anyone looking for custom jewelry design, new jewelry purchase, or repair.

I found this company online while trying to find a place to repair my jewelry. When I walked in I was amazed! They had machines in the front carving jewelry from scratch! It was amazing to see. Since my first experience my husband has had a ring made and bought me diamond earrings there. The price for the quality is amazing! I would recommend this place to anyone looking for anything jewelry related. I used to shop all around the area but DBD is now my only stop. 10 STARS!!!

My fiancé designed and got my ring from DBD. It is absolutely stunning! I get compliments on my ring all the time and I have noticed that it is constantly catching people’s eyes when I am having conversations with them. Also important to note that my ring appraised well above what my fiancé spent on the ring. I have been back with my fiancé to have my wedding band and his wedding band done by DBD. John and his wife, Fetneh, are so pleasant and easy to work with. They truly care about their work and their customers and it shows. I can’t say enough positive things about our experience with DBD!

My fiancé proposed at the beginning of May. I absolutely love my ring. I like gold so he got a yellow gold band with a white gold head. Absolutely beautiful cushion cut diamond ring! I have gotten so many compliments already. I was in Tiffany’s purchasing a gift and one of there sales people asked for his information since she loved my ring and wanted to pass his info to her boyfriend.
My ring was a little too big at first and I took it to be resized the Monday after he proposed since I was headed out of town for a business trip. They were able to resize it within a couple of hours. Wonderful service. I will definitely be a repeat customer!

Well, I don’t know if DBD is any good because I can’t get a response. I called more than a month ago for quotes on two engagement ring styles I had in mind. I discussed the specs on the two rings with John and I have now followed up FOUR times over the past month – no response.
At this point, I can only guess that I’m being ignored because I didn’t want an expensive enough ring. Disappointing after reading good reviews about this place.

Looking for a great jeweler? Keep looking. We had our wedding bands made here and my wife’s engagement ring resized. Their son John Jr informed us that we could bring the rings anytime and have them cleaned and polished. Jr is now longer there and now they will not honor the agreement. They charged us to have the engagement ring polished. It’s not the money, it’s the principle. And instead of trying to work something out, their solution is to argue with me. We’ll be looking elsewhere for our jewelry needs…
Yes the engagement ring was purchased elsewhere, and resized by your company. John jr, your son, promised us we could have the engagement ring and the rings we purchased polished and cleaned at no charge. You lost our business and any future recommendations to friends and family. You can throw a rock and hit a dozen jewelers in houston.

Dickenson by Design is the only jeweler that I go to and can trust making my jewelry. He did an amazing job resetting my diamonds and made 2 beautidul wedding bands for me. Thank you J. Dickenson and associates.

It’s hard to know where to begin in writing this review for DBD. First of all, let me just say that this is an honest, genuine review in every way and I feel strongly compelled to share my experience with the rest of Houston! I recently worked with Lisa to design my stunning engagement ring. I actually discovered DBD on-​line and what attracted me was their prices for platinum settings which seemed extremely reasonable.
After e-​mailing a photo of a gorgeous setting I found at a very high-​end jewelry retailer here in Houston (not to be named, but starts with a «Z’ and is at the corner of San Felipe/​Post Oak), she sent me three successive CAD renderings. After tweaking a little bit, we got the design just right. The final price was HALF the price of the setting at the retail store AND twice the amount platinum… unbelievable! Not to mention, I got the most fabulous ring and NO ONE I know has anything remotely like it.
I really can’t say enough about the talent, expertise, and service offered by DBD. Their dedication and enthusiasm with my project was impressive and I look forward to working with them on the design of ny wedding band! Thank you Lisa, and John and to the rest of your staff for your hard, speedy work. You guys rock!

I admit that I tend to micro manage and I’m lucky that my fiancé didn’t mind my input in choosing the diamond for my engagement ring. Diamond shopping is a very daunting task and we were wary of buying online and wanted to get the most out of our money. Meeting John Jr. settled all our fears and he was awesome to work with! He stayed with in our budget and helped us figure out what type of diamond we wanted. We realized we were ok with «downgrading» in the clarity and going up in the color. This made a big difference in the quality of diamonds we could choose from (and all this was still within our budget). John Jr was a first class professional throughout the process and very easy to talk to. Not once did my fiancé and I feel the pressure to go out of our budget and the diamond John found us was PERFECT (meeting all of the 4C’s we had requested). John Jr. made this whole process fast and easy… and the finished product appraised for significantly more than what we paid.

DBD Diamonds did a great job on my rings! I will definitely go back to them when it is time to purchase a new diamond and design the setting.

DBD Diamonds is really, quite an amazing place. I purchased my diamond in Boston, shipped it to Houston (my home town) and John Dickinson and crew put together an awesome design for me. I got to work through the autocad and talk with them to design a ring that I knew my fiancé would love. Anyhow — I convinced DBD to get on Unilocal because everyone out here should know how great they are.
