Discount Tire Store – Houston, TX

I usually go to the one by Kirby and 59 but from now on, I’m coming here. The guys are very nice and worked with my budget. The wait is good… considering you are getting your tires changed. I came in on a Monday morning hardly any wait or lines. I would highly recommend this place!

I dread buying tires. They’re so expensive and I have no idea what I’m doing. This location was able to get me in next day. (Had a tire blow out) we were greeted at the door and offered water. (It’s hot in Houston!) I told Dustin we had a 12:45 appointment and he got right to work. He was incredibly polite and didn’t treat me like I was dumb as I knew nothing about nothing in his store. He explained basic tire Care to me and not in a demeaning way. He offered me the discount tire credit card only when I expressed concern about price but was not pushy at all. The vehicle was ready within 25 minutes and I felt like it was fast and fair. We were offered water multiply times and the AC was cranked up. When we left the staff explained what they did thanked me for my business.
That sinking feeling I normally have when making big ticket item purchases isn’t there because of the level of service I received. Thanks Dustin and team!

I’m rolling again because my new friend Juan & Tomas got me all hooked up (fast) with 4 new tires at a good price. They were eager to help me, taught me about tires, and worked to help me stay within my (tight) budget.

I’ve gotten 2 sets of tires on 2 separate cars from here. They tried working with me on the prices as I’m a single mom on a tight budget. I give 3 stars today because one of yhe guys tried haggling me today to make a sale but im not stupid so that didn’t happen. He was obviously new, I’d never seen him before and I come here fairly often as I regularly rotate and air up my tires here. My tires are only 1 ½ yrs old and only have 20,000 miles on them which is half of this particular tires life (they’re good for 45,000). So I’ll add another star if they train their workers better and don’t start this haggling stuff again. I like that when you buy tires from them you can get your tires aired up and rotated for free and if you get a flat and its irreparable it’s only $ 50 for a new tire (for mine st least). Just buyer beware of haggling, at any tire place really.

They have a really great crew at this discount tire now. Every discount tire store I go to is always busy, it’s no different here but regardless they picked up a set of tires from the warehouse and had me in and out within 30 mins. Very courteous and will price match as long as you can provide a ad or online listing from a reputable company. They also offer appointments if your in a crunch for time.

I used to go here all the time. I was a great customer. I purchased FOUR brand new sets of tires (16 tires) over two and a half years for all of my vehicles.
BUT one night I went up there at 6:03pm but they closed at 6:00pm. I told one of the guys I caught a flat tire, and he said «Nothing we can do, we’re closed.» SERIOUSLY??! All of the garage doors were open and they were still working on a few cars. I had to call a tow truck! That one horrible display of customer service and common courtesy ruined it for me and they lost my business for good!

The only thing I dislike more than buying a car is shopping for new tires.
With that said, thanks to Dustin for making my otherwise painful experience much better than I expected.
From past experience, I knew I had to do some preliminary shopping online for tires. Although, this location did not have the tires I wanted in stock, Dustin ordered the tires for me. I was surprised because the website stated that this location did not offer these particular tires.
Dustin called me, as he said he would, when the tires were delivered to his store. Unfortunately, due to a misunderstanding he only received 2 instead of 4. Within a couple of hours all tires were in his store & Dustin called once again.
When I took my car to the store, there was no haggling, no up-​selling, nothing shady… I was pleasantly surprised.
If you need tires, I cannot recommend every Discount Tire store, but I will recommend you consider giving them your business; I will.

I always feel robbed when I leave a tire shop but this time I didn’t mind so much!
Went in on Friday afternoon for an estimate and came out with two new tires. The salesguy was terrific. Very friendly and informative.
It was also super quick — normally it seems to take forever but this time, I was in and out in less than 45 min. They did everything — new tires on, checked air pressure on old tires and the guy that drove my car around answered a few more questions for me. He also explained everything they did on the car which I totally appreciated.
I normally get my tires at Discount, and this experience only reinforced why I keep going back.
(My guy said they were nice to me bc I’m a pretty girl (2 pts for him) but I noticed they were pretty friendly with everyone there)
BTW — they do free tire checks — air them up and all.
