Being a native Houstonian, I’m aware of the countless options for jewelers. I haven’t been very impressed with several I’ve dealt with and the ones who did impress me have since retired or passed away. I came to Unilocal to see what I could find and Dubins’ Fine Jewelry was one of the first hits. Reading the positive reviews, I decided to call for an appointment, telling myself to pay attention to the whole experience starting with that first call. Amanda took my call and was very pleasant and clear with setting up my appointment. I met with Lenny who quickly established that he was there to listen to what was important to me. There wasn’t an ounce of pretense in him or his business which created ease in me to entrust him with pieces that contained a great deal of sentimental value. I concur with the other comments about feeling welcomed and treated with exceptional customer service from Lenny, Jordan, and Amanda. The work that was done was exquisite and returned much quicker than I anticipated. The cost was fantastic considering the quality of craftsmanship and service. I recently inherited a ring that I needed cleaned and sized. Since I’m new to the Houston area, I relied on Unilocal reviews to choose a jeweler that would be trustworthy. I met Jordan who is extremely professional. I received a quote for time and cost which wS accurate– in my case the ring was ready early. I was impressed with the service– especially the nice touch of taking a photo of the ring for the invoice. That detail added an additional level of trust. My husband and I purchased my engagement ring and our wedding bands in Dec. 2012 and August 2013, respectively. When my husband was planning to propose, he wasn’t sure where to start so my mother suggested Lenny as she has been his longtime acquaintance and had heard good things about his company in the past. Lenny’s adult son Jordan is now working alongside him, and the two make a great pair.
My husband already had the pear-​shaped diamond that would become my ring’s center stone, so he really only needed assistance building a setting and adding side stones to the band. A couple weeks before Christmas 2012, my husband and my mother made an appointment to meet with Lenny and Dubin. They talked my husband through the whole process and never pressured him to make a decision, and they even offered him a nice stiff drink to help ease his nerves. Though my husband spent relatively little (around $ 4K for the platinum setting +.65 ct/​ea trilliant cut side stones) when compared with other engagement ring purchases, they treated him like they would their high-​rolling clients. They were even able to have the ring completed a few days before Christmas, though they had initially estimated it would not be done until Jan. 2013 as they had limited holiday hours.
We came back to Lenny and Jordan several months later to design our wedding bands. Again, nothing extremely fancy or extravagant — a simple but wide yellow gold band for my husband ($ 800) and a solid platinum band for me ($ 600). The process was easy and enjoyable, and we were happy to support a local business instead of a jewelry chain. We have each been back a couple of times to have our rings resized, and each time we are greeted with a smile. We probably won’t be in the market for fancy jewelry in the near future, but when the occasion calls for it (push present, maybe?!) we will definitely give Dubin’s a call!

Dubin’s was recommended to my now fiancé by his sister as her engagement ring was made by them. We could not be more happy with service and ring we received.
My fiancé decided 2 weeks before our upcoming trip that he was going to pop the question so he was in need of a jeweler who could get the job done quickly. He went in and met with Jordan, had no pictures, but explained the ring he envisioned. Jordan was working on one that was similar and my fiancé agreed the design was just what he and I wanted. The day before our trip, my fiancé went to pick up the ring and he was very pleased. I, of course, think it’s gorgeous! The Dubins have been the exclusive jeweler to our family for almost a decade now. My brother got his fiancée’s ring there, my dad upgraded my mom’s ring, and now I’m getting my engagement ring there. Their diamonds are more beautiful than any others I’ve seen. They work with you to get exactly what you want, even meeting outside of business hours (on a Saturday!) They never pressure a sale which is so important. You need to trust your jeweler like you trust your mechanic, and these guys are top notch. I’d never go anywhere else.

I LOVE my engagement ring. It is absolutely beautiful! I receive compliments everywhere I go and I always throw Lenny’s name out there because his pieces are a must see. A friend recommended me to him and we were very pleased with the flexibility and the transaction. I will admit we looked around at othe places when we left his and NOTHING compared to the selection and quality of diamonds he has. Lenny is very knowledgeable in diamonds so you can feel comfortable in asking any questions you may have regarding your pieces of jewelry. Jordan has also been helpful with us in inspecting the diamond and making sure it is secured tightly in place. I don’t know who’s ever comfortable spending ooodles of cash on bling, but truthfully, Lenny has been a star for us making this process easier over the last 10 years! He helped my husband choose an excellent ring for our engagement 10 + years ago and we’re back for some remodeling if you will :) His son Jordan has now joined the business and they have bent over backwards to help us out.
