Elite Care 24 Hour Emergency Center

This place is amazing. Best hospital experience I have ever had (and I was hospitalized four times last year). The doctors, nurses and administrative staff are engaging, attentive and intelligent. The facilities are top notch and very clean. They even have good snacks and drinks.
My first doctor was great. He was super bright, listened actively, explained information thoroughly and even had a personality – a good one.
I was there two nights in a row and one of
the other doctors from the first night dropped in on the second when I was no longer his patient just to say hello.
They even pay for your cab ride home.

I was in Houston for business. I couple weeks prior I had overshot the landing ramp in an off-​road race I was in and received a bad concussion. With my travel schedule I just didn’t have time to go to a doctor. I seemed to be getting worse so getting tired of everyone telling me, «Don’t mess with your brain» I decided to get checked out during s couple hour window I had free on the road.
This is the coolest, modern and clean urgent care I have seen! They got me in scanned and out in no time.
I then was referred to a concussion specialist and am slowly recovering.
Great friendly and caring staff!

I went in for an infection, They have a nice facility and are very quick. I did get a bill from them about a month later but I called and they were able to take care of it for me

Very nice service and they call to check on your condition 2 days after the consultation. I feel a whole lot better now!

We have visited the Rice Village location twice this year. It is very handy and the staff is super professional. First visit was early on a Sunday a.m. — my son had bronchitis (diagnosed by Elite) & they got him started on a nebulizer treatment etc. right away such that he was feeling better just a few hours later. We also visited another time for an xray of teen’s shoulder. Got diagnosis of partial separation & left with digital copy of xray for use with school trainer. We are self employed & have a high deductible health plan. Elite Care makes a lot of sense for our family.

Took my dad in for a catheter issue last night. The checkin was fast and a nurse saw my dad in about 5 min. He saw the problem and solved it. The doctor them came in and talked to us and we were done in 30 min. The people we dealt with were kind, professional and the place was very clean. They did not sell us ona my emergency tests and just addressed the issue. This is definitely our go to emergency room.

I went in for a deep knife cut on my finger on Sunday morning. The staff, nurse, and physician were awesome and super friendly. The bill for s few stitches without using insurance was very reasonable ($ 420). Will definitely go back again if need urgent care in future.

You will pay a lot to go here so make sure it’s an emergency.
Unnecessary tests run. If you have diagnosed me already for food poisoning and a virus then why run a test for kidney infection? My doctor said a week later why would they run that test when it had nothing to do with your issue? The money they make is for running tests not just seeing you and writing a script.

I went here on May 14, 2015. The facility is very nice. The lady at the front desk was super friendly and helpful. I was seen right away by a great Dr who was very attentive and concerned about my situation. The nurse was friendly and I enjoyed talking to her. I am a freak show when it comes to needles, and she was able to keep me calm while she put my IV in. Honestly, I couldn’t have asked for a better experience.

5 Star treatment. Great staff and excellent doctors! I had a really high fever & infection last week. I went to Elite Care in Rice Village and they took care of me. I was seen within minutes. Dr. McLaughlin and his staff were awesome! If you need a ER this is the place to go.

Thanks to all the Nurses and Dr! Convinced me to go to Hospital when I didn’t want to. Turns out I was having a heart attack! They saved me!

If you can help it avoid this place. The physicians do not know what they’re doing. I went in for pneumonia like symptoms and they gave me an x-​ray for no reason then insisted that all I need was a doctor’s note for work so that I could «get my boss off my back». I lied in bed for two days after that with the chills and shortness of breath. After that I received a $ 200 bill for the x-​ray I never needed. No help at all.

DO NOT GO!!! They can charge whatever they want and will! I have a bill for $ 1700 for fluids and medicine after copay and insurance. They over charge on purpose and can get away with it. CONSUMER BEWARE! AVOID!!!

I went here on a Sunday night for a burn and was seen right away. I mean, literally didn’t even have to wait till the paper work was completely filled out before I was taken back. The facility is really nice and modern, the nurses are super sweet and the doctor was in the room to see me within 5 minutes.
Not sure why others are complaining about the charges. This is a clearly different than a hospital or your doctors office and for emergencies, this is worth it to be seen IMMEDIATELY!

I didn’t get serviced here however they were super nice and honest with me about what to expect to pay. They told me based on my insurance I’m Better off going to an urgent care. I came here with a severely sore throat… not bleeding or anything dire otherwise I may not have inquired about the fees.
If you need quick and urgent help, these folks are pretty damn nice

I have had a migraine headache for 4 days that basic Excedrin migraine was not able to alleviate. Though I live closer to a hospital, from past experiences in their emergency room, I didn’t want to go back, so I found this place on Unilocal.As soon as I got there, I was greeted promptly and seen within 10 minutes.
I did not care for the nurse. He had an attitude and that did not fly with me. However, when Dr. McLaughlin came in, he was so polite, very knowledgeable and knew exactly what I needed to kill the migraine. He talked to me about causes of migraines and even gave me a recommendation to a neurologist that can see me relatively within the next few days. I even asked him for a doctors note for work/​school too. After they gave me the «cocktail» within five minutes it immediately made me feel relaxation and my migraine had subsided. Remember, this was ongoing for 4 days and just within the past 48 hours in particular, I was lacking extreme rest/​sleep.
After 30 minutes, the IV was done and they gave my husband paperwork in a folder with all information, including my dr’s note I had asked for and the information on the neurologist. I didn’t even have to remind them. This was EXACTLY what I needed… quick alleviation.
Now, as far as the cost complaints. I luckily have great insurance. The receptionist couldn’t at the time verify my insurance so she told me that I’d be billed my copay. If I do get a crazy large bill, I really do not care. This place was clean, overall the doctor was amazing, and I got the care I wanted. I am willing to pay for just that over sitting in a hospital ER for hours in the wee hours of the morning, until being seen with sick kids/​people running in and out and all around.
I would definitely recommend this place and I will definitely go back if I do not get the professional help from a neurologist or the allergist I’m seeing next Friday. The only reason I gave 4 stars was because I did not like the attitude of the particular nurse that helped me. Reason, he got snippy at me when he asked me the last time I had taken something for my headache and I responded «later in the afternoon»…well yes, may sound stupid but keep in mind that I was sick of popping Excedrin migraine that was obviously not helping me. Not sure if he knows or not, you cannot exceed a certain limit of OTC meds and I’d like to keep my liver.

Stay far away from this center. I needed a script wrote for an infection I had. I knew what I needed and figured my great insurance would cover most of the plan. I was in a hurry and decided to go here because it was close. I was seen immediately told the doctor what I needed and left. Well they did not tell me that I had to pay 200 right then and their. I payed the feed and my insurance covered 357.00. So i was at 557.00 and thought it was done. Well 4 months later i get a bill for another 200.00 I have called many times and only talk to the receptionist. I tell her the story and she says someone will call you back. well i just keep getting bills and it keeps going up. How does a 2 minute visit cost over 700. This place wont stay open long with that kind of black mail.

I would give negative stars, if I could. Unfortunately, most people do not look at Unilocal (or the Better Business Bureau) before looking for medical care. This place is a complete scam. I work in the insurance industry, so I know that the AVERAGE emergency room visit is $ 1,300.
When my husband and I were moving to this area, I had a nasty sinus infection that I felt needed to be looked at. Lacking a primary physician, I stopped in at Elite to see a Dr. He basically told me that I have allergies and gave me a script for the sinus infection. A few weeks later, I got two bills from Elite. One for $ 165 for the Dr., and another for just over $ 1000 for «facility fees». This was after my insurance company paid. In total, I was charged just over $ 1,700 to be told I had allergies. That is $ 400 more than the average ER visit, where most people are having bigger issues than allergies.
Tell everyone you know to avoid this place, no matter what!

This was the perfect place at the perfect time for us.
We were killing time in Cost Plus looking at toys with our son. My husband accidentally shot a plastic rocket toy projectile attached to a rubber band directly into his cornea. We hustled to the car to get somewhere for ice first (all the while the nearly 3 year old is screaming) and my husband’s pain was so intense he was nauseous. I made a snap judgment to take him to this emergency care place in Rice Village, not sure whether it was urgent or emergency care. I just remembered it was nearby and said «Always Open» on the façade.
Had we gone to a normal ER and waited in line, my husband may have become blind in his injured eye. The doctor and nurse were on the ready and handled him very professionally, calling the specialist for instructions. After reading the other reviews here, I am now expecting a big bill, but my husband’s vision is saved because professionals were convenient for us on a Sunday at noon. It is well worth it and I am so thankful that privatized medicine allowed for the whole scenario.
The waiting area IS plush with snacks and drinks. My hysterical son drank juice and watched Sesame Street. I figured there was a markup, but I have no problem paying for it in my case.
I can understand the complaints about the larger bills if you could have received good care elsewhere for less. But in our case my husband’s vision and livelihood were saved so we are simply thankful and have no issue compensating the providers.

I should’ve checked the reviews on Unilocal before I visited this place to get a deep cut on my finger looked at. I had been here before with a friend and it’s the only clinic I knew of, so I visited here thinking it wouldn’t cost too much and my insurance would handle the bill. Boy was I wrong. So on a cut that I thought could’ve used stitches, they cleaned and dressed it and also administered a shot. That couldn’t cost too much, right? After all, I could’ve done what they did myself, minus the shot of course. Well, I have 2 bills: one for $ 1,087 (after insurance) and another for $ 171 (for the doctors fee).
Looking at the breakdown of the larger bill, they charge $ 1,250 just for the «emergency dept visit»!!
The shot and the dressing only cost $ 143.
I wish I would’ve went ANYWHERE else. Trust me, stay far far away from this place. Please tell everyone you know, don’t go here!
