Embassy Suites

We stayed at the hotel last night, while in town for the Wizards playing the Rockets. This Embassy was not like the other ones I’ve stayed at. They do not have the open floor plan. It was very clean and everyone was super friendly. I have a torn ACL and walked in on crutches. Immediately everyone was concerned wanting to make sure I was ok getting up to the counter. Be prepared Velet parking is mandatory and cost $ 32 a night. Not bad though considering the cost of parking for all the event arenas around. The rooms are super clean and very cute. Great views. The only complaint I had was the mini fridge didn’t work. I called down to ask to get it fixed as I am breast feeding and had to store ny pumped milk in there. We were told it was going to be done while we were at the basketball game. We came back and it was not fixed and I lost 40oz of breast milk. The thing we loved about the hotel was the velets. They were amazing. The shuttle guy reccomemed an amazing place to eat and then took us there. We asked him to come bacj at 515 to get us and he was there at exactly 515. The valet was helpful in telling us where to head to for a good drink after the game and even had a cab called and waiting for us after. All around great service. We will be staying there our next visit to Houston.

The rooms were old and the water pressure was dismal and I’m pretty particular anyway, so it’s a no-​go. BUT THE THING IS, they had a little hispanic woman behind the desk who was just an absolute bish to me for no reason whatsoever. Hello, I am paying you about $ 300 a night for several nights, plus eating in your highly overpriced restaurant and buying drinks, maybe smile at me and don’t treat me like I’m bothering you? It happened more than once and the second time was manager time, which is kinda like hammer time. Won’t be back, despite the free booze happy hour which of course is about 99.9% of everything that is awesome about Embassy Suites. So that’s saying a lot.

The room was amazing! So cute, trendy and updated! Check-​in and out’s were really easy. Staff was always very nice. Breakfast was basic, nothing over the top but plenty of choices and it wasn’t cramped at all. The shuttle bus was great, however the service closed at 10:30pm. Who comes back before 10:30pm? Lmao but it’s okay we got a taxi back, no biggie. The views of downtown from our room on the 15^th floor were awesome!
The only downfall I would say would be that the door to the bathroom was a sliding door and it was 5 girls in one room for over 24 hours… luckily were not shy but whatever you do in the bathroom everyone else can hear…

Beautiful hotel with perks, but ew!!!

Our experience here was terrible. The front desk was rude and short with us. When we approached the desk, instead of politely greeting us, the staff said, «yes?» Seriously bad service. Also the air in our room wasn’t working and we had to have a fan delivered to keep the room cool. Bad parking situation paired with overworked and unfriendly valet. Getting our cars back from valet was time-​consuming. We had a group of 12 split between all the rooms we booked, and everyone complained about how poor the service was. We definitely WON’T be back to any Embassy Suites based on this experience.

We literally drove to this hotel without a reservation from the nearby airport based upon the excellent reviews! WOW everyone in our party was pleasantly surprised. Being Hilton Diamond members we got an amazing upgrade to a corner suite. It was a large sized room with a living room, dining area, kitchenette, large bathroom and comfortable bedroom. AC worked great, beds were comfortable and the room was immaculately clean! Had dinner downstairs at the Hearsay restaurant the food was good but it took almost 40 min to get it! Breakfast at the hotel was FREE! It was great… coffee, juices, toast, bagels, omelets made to order, bacon, sausage and fruit. YUM!
I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone new to the Houston area like us. Oh there was a nice market nearby within walking distance too! Valet was expensive though i think $ 30 a night? That was the only negative. I doubt we will return to Houston again but if we do I look forward to coming back to this hotel!

It is rare that I think of a hotel after I’ve left it. But this one left a lasting impression. And nearly all of it was fantastic.
Other than Homewood Suites, the Hilton branded hotels have really decreased in nearly every single quality category, imho, over the past 10 years. It must be why they just throw points at you each time you come as an Hhonors member. There is not much more that is redeeming. And for the most part, that downward slide of Hilton branded hotels included Embassy Suites. I switched to SPG brands a few years ago, and although the service has been decidedly lacking, I’ve been generally glad I made the switch (with a few notable exceptions).
This Embassy Suites on Dallas ST in Houston, is a big exception to the downward slide. A gigantic exception. If Hilton used this hotel as the baseline for all other hotels, I’d consider making a move back for all the business travel I do.
First, let me start with the one let down with this hotel. The reservation and check-​in process. While finalizing my room reservation I was very specific about making sure my room was on the pool/​laundry floor and was assured it was. Turned it out wasn’t, and by the time I arrived and discovered it wasn’t, it was too late. That was a big bummer. But lets move past that. Nothing is perfect.
Let’s dive into the outstanding stuff:
1. Accommodations — Embassy Suites have always provided a lot of room for the price, and these suites not only are big, but they are very modernly appointed and quite efficient. The only minor complaint was the water pressure. But many reviewers mention that complaint about this hotel, and considering the water woes of Texas, I am leaning towards it being a strategic decision to save water. I am OK with that. Room was quiet and super comfortable. Great beds and linens. Very clean, and no blemishes anywhere. Thanks for keeping your property up and looking great.
2. OMG Breakfast — Embassy Suites is known for providing breakfast. Its typically a long line around the atrium in the mornings with satisfactory offerings. Here it is much different. There is no typical Embassy Suites atrium, and the breakfast area more resembles a real restaurant. You still go through a line to get what you want, but the offerings and the stations were very logically laid out. It was very efficient to get through and get eating. The food selections were standard, but then with some extra flair. They make their own donuts right in front of you, and then these heavily grits. Oh so amazing. Made with copious amounts of butter and heavy cream, its like a meal and dessert all in one. I’ve never been a fan of grits, but these make me want to come back just for them. Their chef, «Chet» was awesome as well. The entire breakfast staff were outstanding. Plenty of room in the dining area. Super comfortable and modern. I looked forward to breakfast every day I was in town and usually I could care less.
3. Valet Services — Most people take their valet for granted. I know I do. I figure I am paying to park and a tip on top of that. But at this location, the valet was extraordinarily fast which kind of blew my mind. Super courteous. And I also count in the shuttle drivers here as well. It didn’t make sense for me to drive from my hotel to my office, and it was silly to spend 20 dollars taking a taxi each day as well. So they had me covered. Very quick transfers back and forth from the hotel each of my five days in town.
There is probably a lot more I could say about this property — but others have covered it well. These items above were important to me. I am looking forward to coming back. I am sure you won’t regret your visit if you choose this hotel as well.

I’m a regular at this hotel and it is very consistent in quality and service. Staff is typically very attentive and involved in addressing any needs. Would rate at 4−½ if that was an option.
The location is excellent for downtown destinations — easily within walking distance to the convention center and Toyota Center… walkable to Minute Maid Park as well, if you don’t mind a little more of a trek.
Rooms are clean and roomy and noise levels are minimal. Pool and fitness center are also above par.
Manager’s reception is very nice… including well drink cocktails and, on a lucky day, even a craft beer offering. Appetizers are also good for the (free) price, which includes chips, dips, crackers, veggies, cheeses, and a rotating daily appetizer. On this particular visit the daily offerings were pretzels, egg rolls and meatballs.
The complementary breakfast was good as well, again, a good variety in addition to a cooked-​to-​order option (omelettes, pancakes).
One slight downside is the air conditioning doesn’t quite go to its coldest setting. In every trip to this Embassy Suites, it seems nearly impossible to have the A/​C get much colder than 70.
Valet parking is also pricy at $ 30/​night.
Overall, an excellent option for a trip to Houston, business or pleasure.

The best hotel experience I have ever had. HANDS DOWN.
My family lost our house and belongings in the Memorial Day Houston floods, and as a result we had to move out of town to live with family. This visit was our first return to Houston as a family, several weeks later, to celebrate my son’s fourth birthday with his Houston friends. It was a really important and emotional trip for us, and Embassy Suites Houston Downtown made it into such an amazing experience. We are incredibly grateful to the staff here (in addition to the beautiful accommodations) who each made this trip so special for my birthday boy.
The staff all knew about my son’s birthday, and all even knew his name ahead of time, wishing him happy birthday throughout our stay. They even created a special «birthday table» for him at our first manager’s reception with balloons and decorations. He just kept saying «Everyone here is so NICE.» and for this generosity and kindness to my sweet boy, I cannot express my gratitude.
Beyond this, the accommodations are just amazing. The suites are gorgeous and extremely large. So comfortable, I want to live here for weeks (months. forever.). Very nicely decorated but also incredibly practical for families traveling with young kids.
FREE WI-​FI. Enough said.
The pool is great. It doesn’t have a real «kiddie» area, but the shallow end is 3 feet and the steps are nice and wide, so even my toddler didn’t have a problem having a blast here. It’s on the rooftop of the second floor, which is also really exciting for kids. Such a great amenity.
Location can’t be beat. We are Houston natives, so already knew that the location was totally awesome. It’s super close to all sorts of amazing attractions, of interest to singles, young couples, families, and anyone traveling to see the sights. You really can’t ask for better. Out-​of-​towners also may not realize that the «hotel restaurant» is actually a second location of one of the best local gastropubs in Houston. What a great idea! We went down for «kid’s meals» at early dinner time and were able to get an amazing appetizer and THE BEST local cocktails for the grown-​ups, then after the kids are in bed, one of the adults can go pick up «adult dinner» at a reasonable hour — because it’s attached to the hotel. We love Hearsay before our stay and didn’t even know it was the hotel’s «restaurant» — how lucky!
I wish there were a way to give more than 5 stars to this hotel. It is already a 5-​star hotel based on the accommodations, location, and incredible amenities. But the hospitality, kindness, and compassion of the employees place it on another level entirely. I’m sold on Embassy Suites, and any trips to Houston, I won’t stay anywhere else! Thank you all, so much.

We’ve stayed in a ton of hotels and hands down this is one of the best. They bend over backwards to accommodate you and it’s in a great location. There are plenty of places to eat and its near museums, minute maid park, Toyota Center. Great place with great management!

I LOVED this hotel. My room was right off the elevator yet I heard minimal noise from the hall traffic. I spent most of my time in the main «living area.» The room was spotless and tastefully decorated.
The manager’s reception was great with plenty of snack type food. Do not expect a meal as it isn’t meant to be dinner. The morning breakfast was great. I had a cooked to order egg white omelette and it was perfect.
I didn’t have a chance to use the workout facility although I would have liked to at least check it out.
All staff members were pleasant. Great job, guys!

From making my reservation online, to checking out in seconds, our stay at Embassy Suites in Downtown Houston was Excellent.
Literally everything can be done online now, and it was so easy for me, even from my smartphone (browser and the Embassy App).
It’s perfectly located, near all downtown stadiums and businesses, but especially the George Brown Convention Center.
Check out their 4^th floor pool, and also their Manager’s Reception at 5:30 to 7:30 for complimentary drinks and appetizers.
We treated ourselves to The Grove for a birthday dinner, which is a 2 minute walk from the lobby. But we heard great things about the restaurant located in the hotel, as well all surrounding eateries.
The two room suite was very large, but the TV’s were underwhelming and almost unfucntional by remote control, which was disappointing. However there’s so much to do around the area, why stay inside? Discovery Green Park can be seen and explored to the right of the hotel, but be sure to rent the bicycles for only $ 5 of All Day use across the Downtown Area.
The ice rooms on most floors had bad odor coming from them, and the breakfast staff (not the cooked-​to-​order chefs, they were great) were rude and unprofessional.
Parking is NOT free, and is $ 20 for 1 overnight stay where there is very limited spaces near the hotel. Valet is an option, but that’s even more pricey.
Overall, 1 of the best Embassy Suites I’ve been to, and in the top 10 best hotels, period.

This is what I’m talking about! No matter what I pay for, I want to think I got my money’s worth. Downtown hotels in general are usually expensive. Embassy is no different per se but they give you a lot for that price.
To start, you get free wifi. That seems like a given but in the sky-​rise downtown hotel, I’ve seen 20.00 per day prices!!! The free breakfast is second to none. Tons of fruit, bacon, sausage, eggs, omelets made to order, unlimited juice, coffee and soft drinks. I actually made it a point to wake up early just to partake in the breakfast. So good!
They also have a social from I believe 5:30−7. Free beer, wine and house drinks. There is also a cheese, fruit, and veggie spread. The beer they had on tap was I believe Bud Light and Alaskan Amber. The Alaskan Amber was a solid draft.
The rooms are ginormous! I could fit a family of 9 in there. There is a front living room with chair, couch, flat screen, sink, microwave and fridge. There is also a separate bedroom with another flat screen.
Parking always sucks at downtown hotels and this one is no different. However it is connected to an outdoor lot and I was able to park there for 20.00 a day instead of 30.00.
Another great Hilton affiliated hotel that hits all my expectations and then some. I’ll keep my eyes out for Embassy during my travels.

Coming from the hospitality industry, I was extremely impressed with my stay at this hotel. I was there from Dallas on a business trip, and instead of driving back to Dallas that evening, I decided to stay the night and relax a little. My plan was go out for a few drinks in the local area since there are so many bars and restaurants near the hotel. The problem was that when I checked in at 9:45pm my phone was dead and their shuttle was about to end its routes in 15 minutes. The front desk staff (Ana) was very pleasant and helpful. (TIP: Most of the time hotel employees will mirror your attitude, not to pat myself on the back, but don’t try to be picky, nagging and rude and expect them to be extraordinarily helpful) Not only did she find me a spare charger to use to charge my phone, she even called the shuttle driver to tell him they had one more guest needing a shuttle. I later found out from the driver that that night they were extremely busy and had already stopped any more incoming shuttles but the front desk called and made sure he added me as his last ride. The driver took me to some great local spots as well and told me where to go at what times. It is safe to say that I had a great night out and it was extremely relaxing! The breakfast buffet in the morning was great. It is made to order, and lets just say that I pigged out that morning.
Overall, I would DEFINITELY stay here next time I’m in Houston. In fact, I don’t think I would consider staying anywhere else at this point.

Service charges for room service are ridiculously expensive. A $ 40 food costed me $ 54.

This hotel was perfect for our mini vacation to Houston for a concert! This hotel is extremely dog friendly and the accommodations were perfect! I have a furry family member who joined us on our trip and there were no questions asked when I brought her with me! I believe I was charged a deposit ($ 50.00) for her but other than that no questions were asked. Just bring poop bags for when you take the dog out to go to the bathroom as it is located downtown woth minimal places for dogs to do their business. There are two really close dog parks/​dog runs next to the hotel as well that are within walking distance. The Toyota Center is one block away and is an extremely short walk. Thank you so much Embassy Suites! We will be back March 16^th for my Birthday getaway!

I recently stayed here while attending a conference at Toyota Center and I had a very enjoyable stay. The check in was very fast, and the front desk staff are extremely friendly & helpful.
The room was very spacious with a bedroom & living room with a sofa, dining table with 4 chairs, as well as a small kitchen complete with a sink, microwave, fridge, & coffee maker. The only thing I found a little strange is that the bathroom door is a sliding door that doesn’t lock. Not a huge drawback but I did find that a bit different.
Nevertheless, the bed was very comfortable, and the view of downtown Houston is really great from the room I had. There is also free breakfast offered and I would highly recommend taking advantage of the custom omlette station as the other food offered is quite bland. There is a wide variety of breakfast items to choose from and a very large dining area to enjoy.
The pool deck is quite cozy, with a pool and a few fountains. It was nice and quiet to relax on during my time there. A guest key is required to access the pool area.
It is a very convenient location and excellent price. The Convention Center is 1 block away, and Toyota Center is 1 block away, and Minute Maid Park is just a couple blocks away. There are tons of parking lots nearby, as well as a shopping mall & a really great grocery store all within a short walking distance.
It is important to note that even if you extend your check-​out time, the guest keys are deactivated at 1pm so be sure to stop by the front desk to get the key reactivated if you have a late check out.
It was a very pleasant stay and I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel to others.

Best ES I have stated at. I am a diamond member. I just wish that the ac in the rooms here would go under 71 degrees :(

The rooms were big, clean, and had a very cool modern feel. The breakfast is the best I’ve had at a Hilton chain hotel thus far, which is saying a lot since I’ve been to many. The location was alright. It’s an area that is usually busiest during the day. Most places around close relatively early. There were a couple places open at night within a walking distance though, so it wasn’t too bad.

I stayed here when running a half marathon that started near the convention center and this place is great.
All the staff members were super friendly. The free breakfast was great. All the common areas were super clean and my room was spotless. It also had a microwave, coffee maker and refrigerator and two televisions. I don’t even have two televisions in my home!
The voice in the elevator is awesome. Vaguely South African accent… whenever I’d get on and push the button for lobby, she’d say «Going down.» And the way she said it was so cool I’d giggle and clap.
Location is perfect if you’re doing something at convention center. Also super close to Toyota Center, Minute Maid field and the soccer stadium. There are plenty of places to eat/​drink within a 10 minute walk.
I thought this place was great and would recommend it.
