History

Established in 2001.

Firefighting’s Finest started in Fort Worth, Texas with one truck running moving crews a few times per week. By offering a unique, customer service oriented approach to the moving and storage industry, Firefighting’s Finest has established a stellar reputation of consistently delivering the highest quality moving, packing and storage services possible. Firefighting’s Finest has grown to over 20 trucks spread across the Fort Worth/​Dallas and Houston areas.

Firefighting’s Finest has been awarded numerous awards including several BBB awards, Move for Hunger Mover of the Month, Move for Hunger Mover of the Year and the Employee Support of the Guard and Reserve has awarded Firefighting’s Finest their ProPatria Award. Additionally, Firefighting’s Finest has achieved the elite status of a Pinnacle Mover through the Southwest Movers Association as well as ProMover through the American Moving and Storage Association.

Business Owner

One of the founding partners, along with Patrick Dodson, Derrick is the President of the Company and the driving force behind Firefighting’s Finest growth. By consistently demanding only the highest quality and never settling for anything less than exceptional service and performance, Derrick has set Firefighting’s Finest on a course for continued growth while maintaining the highest possible service quality. Originally from Houston, Derrick’s service in the Army taught him discipline, focus and a never ending pursuit of perfection. After being hired as a professional firefighter, Derrick sought to grow as much as possible in the fire service as well and quickly joined the dive team.

These guys are awesome! They moved our 2-​story condo and the contents of 2 storage units from the Med Center in Houston to Fulshear, TX. We packed for weeks, but still had some cumbersome, not easily-​packed items. Josh, Adolfo and Moses showed up on time, introduced themselves and shook our hands. We went over the contract and then they got to work. It was a huge job and a stressful day, and we’re glad they were on the job. I highly recommend them!

Highly recommend this company! These guys were on time, helpful and amazing. They helped us move furniture out of our apartment into our house and unloaded our pod that had been delivered. In less than 3 hours! They even helped us set up our appliances. As a firefighter wife I am all about supporting fellow firefighters and the services was even better than expected. Jordan and Ryan did an amazing job and I would definitely use again. Made our moving experience quick and painless.

These guys are Awesome! Best movers I have ever hired. Performed a local move for us in May and it went perfectly. Very caring about your goods and keeping the time down to reduce costs. Am getting ready to have to move Long Distance to Virginia from Spring, TX and will only consider them! Keep up the good work gentlemen!

These guys are awesome, best experience I have had with a moving company. I have used them for two moves, the guys Lance, Randy, Matt & Shane were as good as they come. They showed up on time, confirmed their dates and arrival times, moved efficiently and safely, but they were always smiling with such a good disposition considering both moves were in Houston in August. They didn’t seemed phased one bit. I love the concept of this company and I think they have a great staff. Hats off to Adam and Aldolpho (sorry for the misspelling) on the scheduling and suggestions to get both moves handled. You will not be disappointed with this service! Great jobs guys. I will be call on them again when it is time to take my stuff out of storage.

These movers are awesome!!! They were so pleasant and helpful from the very first moment I spoke with them through the minute they left my apartment. We had a lot of heavy cumbersome furniture, and they handled everything with great care and professionalism and… always smiling!
After a long and exhausting journey from NYC by truck, Brian and Joshua were the absolute best movers we could have had helping us. Brian even managed to catch our dog who ran out of the apartment.
Our THREE movers in NY had trouble with a lot of our items… Brian and Joshua handled everything with ease. Everything is bigger and better in Texas!
My only wish is that I knew I could hire them to pack our stuff in NY! I will not hesitate to use them again, and I will tell all my friends that Firefighting’s Finest are the movers to call!

Firefighting’s Finest did an excellent job on my recent move. I had an extra complicated move to say the least. It was a two stop trip to pickup all my furniture and then they delivered everything to my 4 story home. They worked extremely hard carrying large pieces of furniture up the stairs. I cannot thank them enough for their hard work. Not one thing was broken and we had no damage to our home. Adolfo was very nice and made sure they were efficient. Great job boys! I will certainly hire them again.

Moving is stressful enough and Dylan, Jacob, Moises and Michael were extremely efficient from start to finish while being professional, dedicated, and having positive attitudes all the way through. I was absolutely clueless as to where to start searching for movers so I looked up movers in Houston. I was about to give up when I saw this company’s website. Working in the ER myself, I know that firefighters are quality guys and I decided to contact them. They called me the next morning and quickly set up the job.
I was so impressed with the way James, Shane, and Michael handled my move. They were on time, communicated clearly and took excellent care of my possessions. They never once acted put out that they continually had to climb three flights of stairs or had to carry a few pieces of furniture around to the front door. They were quick, efficient and professional– I would highly recommend them to anyone at anytime!

My husband and I cannot say enough good about this company. Shane F., Brian, Jacob, Eddie and Moises were professional, polite, and lots of fun. They took great care with our things while working steadily. Daniel and Adam did a great job of estimating the move. They were very patient with me and my questions as we went room to room describing our furniture. This was all done over the phone which at first concerned us, but after reading all the great reviews our minds were put at ease. They got us into our new home in time for the Thanksgiving feast and football marathon! These guys are hard-​working family men and we highly recommend them!

I originally had another moving company scheduled to help move my apartment, but after I saw abysmal reviews, I turned to Firefighting’s Finest. The quote and scheduling process was much more thorough and informative than the first company. The day of the move, Lance called ahead to make sure that I was ready, and he and his partner began to work. They were professional, friendly, and effective. They took good care of my things, and got the move done faster than estimated. I can’t imagine a moving service being any better.
