We bought a Mack-​o-​pedicure without reading the online reviews which was a huge mistake on our part! The mattress is defective, slants, is bumpy, is mushy, and is not comfortable at all. Mack refuses to assist us and has told us to contact the manufacturer — King’s Down. Do not buy a mattress from Gallery Furniture! I’ll never buy anything else from him and will tell everyone I know to go elsewhere. He’s a horrible businessman! Once he has your money he doesn’t care if you’re satisfied or not.

After buying furniture from Gallery Furniture for over 10 years, it was the first place we decided to go when we wanted to buy a new mattress, as we have always received top quality service and furniture from Gallery. We visited the store on a Saturday afternoon and we were assisted by a woman named Hallie. She told us she wasn’t a salesperson, but was a designer in the store. However, she helped us since the store was so busy. We explained that we did not want a tempur-​pedic mattress as we didn’t like the feel of them. She told us we had 2 other options, (the Mack-​O-​Pedic Plush Mattress or Firm Mattress) and each one was a high quality mattress. We decided on the firm mattress and had it delivered the next day. It felt great for the first 3 or 4 days and after that it felt like we were sleeping in quicksand. We called customer service and Gallery sent out a representative from Kings Down (because this is the company that manufactures the mattress) and it was found to be a defective mattress as well as the plush mattress — not the firm one we ordered! Free of charge, a firm mattress was delivered a few days later and we slept comfortably for 3 – 4 nights before the mattress started softening up and became a «mush pit» making it feel as though we were sinking in quicksand again. The mattress was clearly defective as it had body impressions in it already. It feels as though the springs were left out of it! We called customer service again and were told that they already did an exchange free of charge and we were welcome to come in and re-​select, pay a restocking fee and a delivery fee. I tried explaining to the woman in customer service that the mattress was defective — it wasn’t a comfort issue and that it was the second one we have had. She said she would talk to the owner and get back to me. When she called me back she told me that under no circumstances would we be given another mattress without paying the fees. I asked her to please look at our account and at the items we have bought and the money we have spent over the last 10+ years and to please consider making an exception. Once again, she said she would get back to me. I called her about a week later since I didn’t hear from her and I told her that I stopped by the Post Oak store to look at all of the mattresses and that there weren’t any other mattresses we felt comfortable on. I asked that they consider taking the mattress back and refunding our money. We were told this is against company policy and that they will not do that. The problem is that there are only 2 mattresses to choose from — we tried out both of them, they are both defective, and there is nothing left to choose from. The woman in customer service, Claudia, continually said she is following policy and when I asked to speak to the owner on multiple occasions, she would just say he isn’t available, and that she spoke to him and this is all that they could do. However, on June 11, 2016 I called the store and was able to speak to the owner, Mack. I explained the situation to him and he said he will not return our money but he will take the mattress back and allow us to re-​select. He said we should «speak to a black guy named Brandon in the mattress department because he is an expert». Mack also said he has sold mattresses for 35 years and he didn’t become successful by returning customer’s money and he will not make an exception. He was rude and condescending! Buyers Beware — do not purchase a mattress from Gallery Furniture unless you really like sleeping on your couch!!!

We had an amazing time at Gallery Furniture! Very impressed with the fact that they have a Temperpedic specialist as well as a rug specialist! Our 5 year old was happy and entertained the entire time with snacks, parrots and Capuchin monkeys! How did we live in Houston our whole lives and never shop here?! Our go to from now on!

I purchased a Mac O Pedic, sales price 1300 + 500 for new box springs and after a few months my husband and I were sleeping in hammock like mattress. We contacted customer service and sent pictures and went to store to replace. The sales person said it was the only complaint they had ever received on this mattress so decided to give it a second try. Big mistake. After 3 months we returned to get another mattress… which we had promised we would do if it failed again. This time they wanted to charge a restocking fee and delivery charge and were treated very rudely, like it was our fault they were selling a faulty product. Ended up costing us an additional $ 600 to get replaced. Needless to say, this is the last time we will ever buy anything here.

The new location is huge and well laid out. Sale person, Mark, was helpful and very knowledge and low pressure. They offered same day delivery even at 7pm although I didn’t need that.
The delivery guys were great! Very curious, polite and got right down to business. Quick set up of the bed and mattress I purchased and cleaned up after themselves and hauled away the trash afterwards.
This is my 4^th purchase from Gallery and will continue to do business with them.

Just too expensive. I thought I was going to SAVE MONEY. I can’t see how you can spend $ 8,000 for a sofa, leather or not. We bought elsewhere.

2^nd time back making a large purchase. Hasn’t changed much in the last 8 years. They make you feel at home as soon as you walk in with free cookies, icecream, fruit etc. Play place to let the kids get some energy out. Free car strollers to keep the little ones entertained while walking around as well as different animal exhibits and sports memorabilia through out the store. They sell good quality furniture, so don’t come here if your not willing to pay for it. My only con is I don’t like sales people following me around like a puppy dog, even after I’ve asked them to give me time to look around on my own. My sales person was very pushy too and would not recommend him. I’m hoping he was new and was still learning.

This store has a lot to choose from! The price was more than I wanted to pay but you get what you pay for! Mattress Mack was even there and was super nice to me, I even got a picture with him. The furniture was delivered super fast and the movers were very friendly. No complaints. Thank you!

This sprawling location has undergone a major change over the years, almost all for the better. What used to be a humble little furniture store has evolved into a monster center with plenty to see and capture your interest. «Back in the day», a good deal could be had for some so-​so quality furniture. Now, the prices have gone up markedly but so has the quality, for the most part.
You still get the same great service and attention from their sales reps. If you look lost for a second, it won’t be long until someone appears to point you in the right direction… or most likely walk you there himself.
Beware: you will need to allocate plenty of time to wander the premises, ogle, and test out the array of merchandise. If you feel famished or parched, go grab some refreshments [brownies, fruits, Blue Bell ice cream] or water (they’re free) and resume your tour.
Prices now range from (mostly) moderate to some very pricey items. All throughout, just look up and around to see motivational quotes, quirky decorative pieces, and pieces to accent your furniture purchase.
Want to entertain the kids? Take them to the birdcages up front. They also have plenty of stroller cars in which you can taxi the little tykes around.
As the prices & quality have gone, so too will the span of time before you need to purchase replacement pieces. That may not be a bad thing at the end of the day.
Gallery Furniture may not save you as much money as they used to but they’re still a top option if you need to furnish your abode.

Everything is expensive, but it’s made in America right in good ol’ Texas.
You can tell right away that all the wood is of great quality.
I was thrilled by the monkeys and birds (I’m a true kidult) but saddened at the same time. They should be free not enclosed in cages at a furniture store.

Just bought these recliners, wow! Took a shot and ordered them online… amazing! Customer service and delivery guys just fantastic! Worth every penny spent! First time using Gallery but will definitely use them again!

This place is soooo expensive and they only care about getting your money not about making sure you are satisfied with your purchase.

My experience here was fantastic. We had been shopping for a new sofa/​love seat set for a week or so, and had gone to many furniture stores to browse around, and then decided to stop by Gallery Furniture. I didn’t think there would be many things to choose from within our budget, but to my surprise we found some fantastic markdowns on some pieces I loved.
Phu helped us out, he was very friendly, funny, and committed to fit our needs. We told him what set we were interested in, and he showed us several more that fit our style and needs. We also wanted to look at some bedroom sets and he showed us a few beautiful sets as well that were within our budget. In the end, we decided to just do for the sofa and love seat we initially had our eyes on, and he made the whole process easy, and enjoyable.
Another plus is that everything here is American made, and I can vouch for that. Thanks Phu for making our experience more than wonderful, we will be coming back to you for that bedroom set soon!
We purchased our set last night at 9:30 pm, it is the next morning at 11:30 and I am already sitting on my new couch! Fast delivery! And those guys were great as well!

Not a good place to save money. For years, gallery furniture have groomed a generations of future clients with TV commercials and radio ads. We’ve all heard their marketing slogan «save you money» since a very young age. Smart marketing! But it doesn’t work on me. When I first walked in, pressured type sales representatives were waiting for me. The moment you tell them you are just looking, they 100% neglect you. Before abandoning me, the sales representative made sure that he said a negative comment. I’d prefer not to put what he said. The environment reminds me of Landmark Chevrolet. I believe most sales rep from that closed down dealership migrated to gallery furniture. Please buy your furniture elsewhere. Don’t be fooled by the free food and free basketballs.

We came here last month looking for a love seat. I was dreading to go furniture shopping, but i was amazed by the excellent service we received. We walked in and of course we were greeted by a salesman and some yummy goodies. I hate having clingy sales people but he gave us space to look around with out breathing down on us. We found our couch and right away we were at the dock loading it in our truck. We came again last week for a chair and dresser. We love this furniture store, the service, the atmosphere and of course the monkeys and yummies. I have to give the warehouse guys props. Those guys are awesome. They make sure your furniture is packed in tight. What furniture store loads and ties your furniture down? Mac makes the process of buying furniture fun.

Fruit, cake, cookies, ice cream, burgers and coke! Im stuffed! That would be a good review if i was at a restaurant, but I wasnt. Mac’s prices have steadily risen over the years such that we’re now priced out. No wonder theres a location in the galleria area – regular folk find it difficult to find anything we can afford. Went to The Dump and bought. Left there hungry but with what we were searching for.

As always Gallery delivered! I give the store four stars because they don’t allow half stars.
When we were in the store we were told that the pieces we purchased were «wall huggers», however when they delivered and set it up its was NOT. We called to inquire about this feature; we are told it was only on the power/​electric option for the pieces. This was not an option for us to consider, we have small children and they would break it so we opted for the manual lift on the recliners. Mac did offer to fix the issue with out the re-​stocking fee but we didn’t want to spend the extra 1200 $ to get the «wall hugging» feature. Knowing this prior to purchase we may or may not have went a different route.
Overall we are very happy and made the furniture work in the spaces they were intended. Mac has been a very giving person to the community. His furniture prices may be high but take into account that most of his inventory (if not all) is from right here in the USA! He is saving jobs and empowering our economy right here. Rich people don’t get rich being nice or giving things away for free. Sure, go to the «cheaper» guy but you’re going to be buying new furniture again real soon and supporting others countries that want nothing more than to see our country fail. WAY TO MAC FOR KEEPING THE ECONOMY GOING!

The furniture seems to be really good quality, the finance options are decent, the delivery is incredibly fast and efficient, but the sales staff is SOOO hit-​or-​miss!
I researched sectionals for a good two months before making a decision. So I already knew what I wanted. The sales people on the floor are sometimes very cold. Weren’t much help besides just walking me to the finance guy.
The delivery however is top notch! Fast, same day and they were in and out quick!
BUY THE FABRIC PROTECTION! Within an hour of delivery I managed to spill an entire glass of water and it just slid right off. Works great!

Went here to look at dining tables and found that they are still as expensive as they were 7 years ago… LOL. I guess, if you have the room on your credit card, you can pay $ 1,500 for a table and $ 250 for each chair. Yeah, it’s real wood. I get that! We just don’t have the deep pockets for it, right now.
We wound up here when a big anniversary celebration was going on! There was free cake, hot Otis Spunkmeyer cookies, water, Blue Bell ice cream from a cart with a server, and red, white and blue basketballs. Mac was at the front desk signing them. He got annoyed and ask shouted to the people to stop bouncing the balls in the store. I would have had signs and announced it, not shouted at people. We all have are moments.
