Goodyear Auto Service Centers

The front desk personnel are very nice but their service is rough. I came in to get my rear brakes changed. They kept it the entire day with me in the waiting room just to tell me at 4:30 they didn’t have the right tools for the job. I drive a Mazda sedan so I’m not sure what was so different about my brakes. They also recommended I get my rear rotors replaced which I did and they put on cheap break pads that warped my rear rotors from vibrations. Additionally, they didn’t put my calipers back together properly or something because there was permanent damage to those as well. Four months later, I needed new calipers, brakes, and a rear rotors. I did NOT take it back to them to try and fix it because this isn’t the first time they did subpar work on my car. Again, very nice people but I will never take my car there again.

Car broke down in a parking garage downtown so called this Goodyear and they helped get me the vehicle towed to their location. They informed me after a day that they were not able to figure out what was wrong with the car. When I went to pick up the keys, they informed me they would not charge me a diagnostic fee since they were not able to figure out what was wrong with it, so I payed nothing (not even for their towing service). That action speaks for itself, the employees were all friendly and honest. Would recommend this place to anyone.

I’ve been to this location several times. The initial couple of times it was for light maintenance likes oil changes or flat repair. So… when my vehicle’s air conditioner stopped working (and Midas on Westheimer attempted to charge 100% markup on an A/​C compressor kit) I took it to Goodyear on Fannin. They «repaired» it and a day later I noticed the A/​C was not bowing cold… IT WASNT FIXED! I took it back, they had it for a couple more days and after picking it up I noticed it wasn’t blowing cold… AGAIN! For the third time I dropped it off and told them to keep it for 4 days allowing time to also replace the battery. On the 4^th they called to say they’d need it longer. Are you kidding? 4 days to replace a battery and finally fix the broken A/​C that you’ve already worked on twice? What a joke!
There are many honest, accountable and professional auto repair faculties in Houston and I don’t think Goodyear on Fannin is one of them. Never go to this place!

Waited 3 hours for four tires. Was one of two vehicles in the bay the whole day. Ridiculously understaffed. Super slow. They aren’t listeners they are talkers. Over promise under deliver on everything. Terrible with paperwork. Facility has an insect problem. Avoid!!!

I only get oil changes here, they have the best rates for fully synthetic. Service is alright, I like how you can make appointments online. You will be better off going to discount tires for tires.

It was supposed to be about an hour wait when I called yesterday to schedule an appt. Three hours later, they have not yet finished. Also, the cost increased from my quote yesterday. People, JUST TELL ME THE TRUTH before I come in so I can arrange to be dropped off! Oh, and so I can ensure my funds are double-​stacked! I don’t mind paying, but let me know EVERYTHING I need when I call! I asked them to include EVERYTHING when I called!!! Very crappy customer service! I’ll have to go to another Good Year from now on because I can’t stand the sight of the lying employees.

I dropped my car off at 11 am for a basic oil change and tire rotation. It’s now 6:13 p.m. and this is not completed. I even opted out of the tire rotation due to time constraints. I told them when I dropped it off I would be back at 5:30 to pick up the car. There has been no apology, underestimated waiting times, and an absolute lack of customer service. One of the worst experiences I have had.

If you dare to bring your car here because of the extremely convenenient location, here’s what you can expect:
— nonchalant customer service from the older lady who works the front of the house (she’s been there 20 years and ain’t goin’ nowhere)
— overwhelmed, overworked technicians who can’t keep up with the flow of cars
— a long wait in line to drop off your car
— a long wait in line to pick up your car
— when you finally pick up your car, it may or may not be ready
The technicians and the lady at the desk make no promises.
If you bring your car here, come with ZERO expectations and LOTS of time and patience.
We dropped off our car for ½ a day just to get diagnostics. The tech told us he «looked at it» and it looked fine. My husband asked him, «Did you test drive the car?» The tech said, «No, it looks fine.» We weren’t happy, and the tech responded, «Look, I didn’t even have lunch today, and I’m diabetic.»
We will never, ever, EVER trust our car at this location. They may or may not change your oil. They may or may not change your tires. And you will never know! They are extremely untrustworthy, and their attitude is that they are doing you a FAVOR.

The good: This location is great if you have an office downtown, and they ultimately fixed my issue.
The bad: I expected higher level of service and quality for the price. During my last service I ran into several issues:
— Dashboard was noticeably damaged in process of repair and I had to snap back into place in several areas
— I was not informed of delays and had to call myself to learn that the car would need to be kept longer than promised (multiple days longer)
— The car was returned to me with grease stains on windshield, and greasy residue soaking passenger side carpet — I was told to wait for it to dry out
— I was charged for coolant fluid, but noticed it was below the add line and had to return to have it filled
— One of the wheels was balanced incorrectly with weight rubbing on brake caliper, and I had to return yet again — they even argued about it being something they did before I reminded them that they did supposedly balance my tires…

I had the most terrible experience in my life at this goodyear store. I brought my car in for a flat tire repair and maintenance charge me $ 700. They said that my lug nuts were stripped out and I had to not only replace them with a whole assembly as well. When I told them I didn’t want to do the repair they said well you can tell your car out because you can’t put that tire back on the car. Can’t believe that! The worst part of all is that when I got these tires 2 years ago goodyear is the one that put them on so I can anyone do anything to strip out the lug nuts it was them!!! I will never ever bring my car here again and I highly recommend that you don’t either!

I had a very good experience getting a damaged OE (Goodyear) tire replaced here yesterday. They clearly take their job seriously and do it well. I’m glad I went there.

I too work downtown and have come to rely on this place out of convenience. Tire repair/​replace obviously, but also alternator replacement and other work under the hood. I drop off before work and it’s always been ready by end of day if not earlier.

Came in with a flat tire ½ hr before close and was not even recognized by the person working the front desk. However, once I spoke up and requested they change my tire, Chris in the garage was terrific and changed my tire pronto and with a smile!

Time for me to expound on my favorite Goodyear. This is the only place I take my vehicle for 95% of what I need done (occasional oil changes and inspections do not happen here, as it is an hour drive in good traffic for me — that is what this place means to me).
Used to be that my daughter and I lived in NW Houston, and I frequented the location on Louetta Rd. The service there was top-​notch, until manager Dan left, and then I got heckled about a $ 1600 shock and strut replacement. I didn’t ask, and it’s not a safety issue, so why they were heckling a practically homeless single mom was beyond my understanding. Dan wouldn’t have done that, nor allowed a member of his crew to intimidate or pressure me like that.
Fast forward one year. I’m no longer homeless-​ish, engaged, and not as dirt-​floor poor. Went to another Goodyear in my new SE Houston area, and didn’t like the manager’s attitude, so I go to the Fannin location next go-​round. ‘Lo and behold, Dan had been relocated to this spot! How pleasantly surprised I was.
At this Goodyear, I don’t ever feel pressured, only informed. My husband and I each signed up for the 3 year/​6 times alignment plan, and the last time I brought the car in, there were four services performed (alignment, tire pressure, power steering fluid check, and a minor repair to a front splash panel, I think is what it is called), but after an hour, I left without owing anything! The service member provided me with an estimate of recommended work, after I had informed him of the accident I had been in earlier in the year, at which point the car was serviced at a collision repair shop.
This location is no hassle, no pressure, just want to keep you happy and your vehicle in great condition. My recommendation is to schedule an appointment with them via their website, including specific requests in the «comments» section, and come early. Thanks to them, I don’t worry about my car having mechanical issues while my family and I are driving.

I really like this Goodyear. As others have mentioned, it’s a Goodyear so its not the cheapest, but the customer service and down right honesty cannot be beat.
Eddie is great. I have been dealing with him for almost 2 years and he always impresses me with the time he takes to make sure I understand exactly what he is saying. I have never once felt like he/​they were adding BS on to raise my total.
One day I had expected to pay in the $ 600 range to get something fix, come to find out the problem was minor and only cost me a little over $ 100. Plus my car is always ready exactly when promised.
I grew up on Firestone, but I’m now a Goodyear girl (sorry dad!).

I work downtown and out of convenience, I have made Goodyear my mechanic for routine maintenance. I would say that they’re a decent shop. I’ve been happy w/​the work over the past year or so.
Sometimes, they make recommendations based upon the mileage w/​o checking the actual work that has been done on the car. I called them on it once and they apologized (the mechanic told me to get some fluid flushes that were performed by Goodyear 3 – 4 months prior).

It’s a Goodyear store, so it may not be the cheapest place in town, but the service I got there has always been absolutely excellent. The staff are always very friendly. Definitely one of those times where you get what you pay for. My work depends on my car… so I can’t risk it on cheap mechanics… the way I like to risk my stomach on cheap taco joints.
Finding a good mechanic can be terrifying… horror stories, legal battles, extraordinary waiting times, etc. But not here. More than just selling tires, they do just about everything here. And every time, no matter how big the job, they’ve had my car ready by the end of the day. None of that «just park it over there, and I’ll try to get to it by Thursday» crap. The parts come with a guarantee as well.
They seem to do a good volume of repairs there (being downtown, they probably have a lot of fleet business), so they probably can’t afford to «sit» on jobs. The garage always looks busy. PERFECT if you work downtown… as you can drop it off in the morning, walk to work, and they’ll have it ready for you by lunch or after work.
Communication is great… they’ll call you when it’s done, and will call you if they think you might need additional services… but not at all in a sales-​pressure kinda way. They just take good care of your car.
I used to live across the street at the Houston «Halfway» House Apartments, so it was very convenient. Now that I live several blocks away, I’ll still be taking my car there. I need some new tires soon. :)
