A delicious and tucked away spot. House of Kebab is a hidden gem just off of the Galleria neighborhood on Westheimer. Dishes that I have really liked: Shish Kabobs, spicy rice, chicken shawarma Everything I have tried here is fantastic! Very reasonable prices for flavorful, authentic food. The staff are always very nice and treat everyone well. It is fun to catch sports on the big TV.

I am a long time House of Kabob customer and I have always loved the Chicken Shawarma sandwich and plate. Great food but in the last 3 – 6 Months the quality of food has gone down and the price has one up. They just charged me 25 cents for a to-go hot sauce. WOW! Really unbelievable. The new ownership/management doesn’t know anything about running a business. I prefer to take a little longer drive to 3 Bros Kabab.

Awesome mixed grill. Had hummus and babaganoush for sides. It was flavorful and fresh. Each meat was a juicy tidbit of yummyness. The sides were freshly made and savory mounds of indulgent delight. Out of all the meats the lamb was the best

Fresh off a vacation from Dubai, I wasn’t necessarily ready to revert back to cheeseburgers and Tex-mex. The chicken shawarma was UH-MAZING. I tried shawarma at a few neighboring restaurants and often the chicken is dry and terribly chewy. They know what they’re doing here. The shawarma is cut directly off the rotisserie. Yuuuuum. The hummus was DELICIOUS and sinfully creamy. My one complaint, the pita bread was pretty thin and chewy. I’ve had better. Regardless, it was amazing. It’s somewhat of a dive, so I ordered to-go. Did I mention it’s cheap? Yeah, I’ll be back.

The shawarma plate and combo plate ate awesome. They ran out of yellow rice, I had to have white rice which was really good and the best part was garlic sauce. Service is laid back though.

This is definitely the cheapest Mediterranean grilled meats style café I’ve ever been to in Houston! We found this casual spot on Unilocal after spending an entire morning at the REI garage sale down the road and were ravenous for some tasty lunch. My chicken sandwich was only $ 5.15 and had grilled chicken meat, onions, and a delicious garlicky-mayo sauce. I requested that lettuce/onions be added as well, which they graciously did free of charge. Food came out quickly and was fresh and flavorful. It didn’t have as much meat as a similar gyro at Fadi’s but that garlic sauce was INCREDIBLE; I even went up and asked for more. My friend got a chicken platter which came with the same chicken over rice and she got two half-sides of tabouli and hummus/pita bread/dips for $ 8.99, which is a great deal considering how much food you get(enough for 2 small meals). Free iced water and cups were available in the back. Overall, a great experience. I’d be back! The prices, tastiness, and quantity of food merit returning if I’m ever in the area.

Place is awesome came right before closing only sad part was you could only order kabobs but it was delicious comes with some white and red sauce both delicious flavor the bread was a little tough and grape leafs eh. Beef was on on point they didn’t wear gloves though that was kinda gross but I’m over it I will definitely be coming back kabob and 6 grape leafs 12.75 a really great price so if you are in the area come check them out. Invite me too

It’s a hole in the wall kind of place but the food was decent. Got the chicken kabob with a side of hummus. My friend got the shredded chicken shwarma plate. Her dish was a bit better and filling. Price is pretty cheap. Nice staff. To be honest though, I’d probably recommend other Mediterranean restaurants in westheimer for your chicken/beef kabobs. I’ve tried pretty much every Mediterranean place in westheimer, and I’ve only found one that makes the best kabobs: Al aseels.

This place is really amazing. If you want to try a shawarma you need to get here before 8pm or else they run out of the meat. The chicken shawarma was wonderful, the humus was yummy and so was the tabouleh salad. The only thing I wasn’t impressed with was the beef shawarma because he beef was too dry. At the end of the night the beef ends up sitting for too long on that stick around the heat and it just dries. This place has the best chicken shawarma in Houston, the only reason for which they didn’t get an extra star is because my beef was way too dry

I come here often. Good, cheap, delicious food. Addictive if you ask me! I get the spicy rice with beef fajita meat on top with a side of okra stew. All under nine bucks. Try their garlic sauce(which is essentially a mayo or aoli)

Absolutely a 5 for the value. You can get the chicken shawarma platter for less than $ 10, which includes an ample amount of chicken shawarma and 2 sides(including hummus, baba ghanouj, rice, and tabbouleh). Did I mention yet that it’s also amazing? We had stumbled here because another restaurant in the strip mall wasn’t open, but we are so glad we did. The atmosphere is unassuming, but you seriously cannot beat the value. It’s counter service, so you’re not obligated to pay a tip either. Also, because the meats are already prepared, you get the food super quickly and the quality has been the same each of the 3 times that I’ve gone. The only thing that I don’t LOVE is that the place does feel a bit older and could use a little bit of a makeover/upgrade, but it’s certainly not critical. My personal tip — it’s worth it to get the entrees instead of the sandwich. My boyfriend got the sandwich the first time, but he now regularly gets the entrée because he can’t pass it up. I highly recommend checking this place out, and I’m so glad we’ve added it to our rotation.

Reasonably priced, decent sized portions and solid food(halal at that). I recently ordered takeout and tried a variety of items including the falafel sandwich, the kofte sandwich, tabouleh, grape leaves and mixed kabob plate. While the sandwiches were good and reasonably priced, I think the best bang for your buck is getting the entrée plates which come with rice, a side of your choice and pita. The tabouleh and grape leaves were nothing to write home about, but the meats(the most important thing at a kabob place) were very flavorful. Prices are good and portions large, so look no further when needing your kabob fix.

I give this place a 4 starts for the Best Mediterranean food in town. The price is very cheap compare to all other restaurants. The meats is freshly grilled when you order the food which I like. The meat is really tender and well season it. Definitely recommended!!!

The food is amazing. This place is a hole in the wall, small café feel. The food is cooked to order and is amazing. The plate presentation is gorgeous. I didn’t take a pic because the food looked too good. We will be back.

Have had takeout from House of Kabob 4 – 5 times. I usually get a plate — comes with rice(white or spicy), meat(chicken or beef shawarma, shish kabob, etc), two sides(hummus, tabouleh, baba ghanoush), pickles and onions. The chicken shawarma plate is great, as is chicken kabob. The baba ghanoush is also excellent. I had a baklava once and it was also pretty good. Prices for the plates at lunch time are $ 8.99. The menu shown on Unilocal is not correct I believe. The guy at the counter is nice but very difficult to talk to him on the phone — speaks softly and doesn’t really understand the order. But he does a great job packing the orders. Overall a solid option for middle eastern food.

Hell yeah. If you’re familiar with this area, you know there’s a TON of kabob/kebab/skewer Mediterranean places nearby. From the well-known Fadi’s to Shawarma King to Al Aseel to the lesser known places like the back deli in Jerusalem Meat Market, the Gandhi district is grilled meat heaven. House of Kabob throws its hat into the ring with a couple of tipping points — one, they’re cheap. They’re probably the cheapest option — you can get a white meat chicken skewer with 2 sides for $ 8.99. That’ll run you over 10 bucks at Fadi’s or Al Aseel. Two — it’s fast and fresh. The raw skewers are on display in all their glory at the front, and they grill it in front of you. They only have 6 classic side choices, so there’s less chance that you’re going to order some old side that’s been untouched for a while. It’s not as nice-looking as Fadi’s, they don’t have a huge selection, and there’s a random TV in the middle with soccer playing, but sometimes you just want to kick back and eat dope food in a quiet, chill spot. And this place is perfect for that.
