Joe Hardwood Floors

I contacted Joe Hardwood floors via Unilocal messaging to request a quote on material and labor for floor installation. Robert could not get the floor product so I asked about a labor only estimate and gave him the square footage. I asked him for suggestions to source the product and followed up with the requirements the building had regarding liability insurance for contractors. Robert replied with questions about the location zip code, and size of the building. Let me preface this by stating he had been prompt and engaging with his replies to this point. I provided him the location zip code and size of the building. No response. 3 days go by and I sent a follow up «did you forget about me?» message. No response. I have not heard from Robert in 6 days. I then read more closely the negative reviews he has gotten on Unilocal.
Mario S. posted in ¹¹⁄₂₀₁₄ that he was also asked what zip code in which he lived and was then treated unworthy when he provided his zip code. I have also read the other negative reviews Joe Hardwoods has received. My opinion is that Robert is hostile and accusatory of the person posting the negative review (See Kim R’s review of 5÷16÷2016). Robert’s reply was «please don’t pay any attention to this review.» I am so paying attention to that exact review because the way you respond to people makes me relieved I did not contract with you to do my job. If everyone had a 5 star experience and every customer was a satisfied customer, we would live in a perfect world. We do not. There will be unhappy customers, Robert. Being nice and conciliatory goes much further than «don’t pay attention to this review,» or «perhaps you were not paying attention when we discussed my terms» (your reply to Mary S. customer ²⁄₂₀₁₆).
Robert, I know you will have some comments to post about my 1 star review but review our messaging transcript for the facts before doing so.

Joe Hardwood Floors did an excellent job installing my engineered hardwood flooring. The communication with Rob, the owner, was prompt & honest. The workers were exactly on time, highly efficient, very clean, super fast, worked non-​stop, didn’t waste a minute, & finished the job earlier than expected. I was very impressed with their expertise & efficiency. The quote I got was way less than the quote from Lumber Liquidators! I am very happy I chose Joe Hardwood! My rooms look much better without carpet. Thanks to Rob & his workers for a beautiful job!

The original response when I again asked about acclimation. He changed it May 21 when I asked him to check his invoices. I even have a text message trail to show it never was allowed to acclimate to my home.

5÷16÷2016 Dear customer, I’m sorry but I don’t know what you are talking about damaging another company’s job. We always let our floors acclimate for several days before we sand and finish them. The reason why floors cup is because there could be a moisture related issue affecting them or you are damp mopping the hardwood floors. Read less

Glad I have kept every email, recordings, text messages, and responses from Rob and or Ossie.
The Texas Secretary of State has the name of the owner since Joe Hardwood Floors is a LP company. We found out from the JP in Pearland. It is a 1.00 for one online search. We are going to have to contact that owner.
***Notice he never responds to why he did not acclimated our cupping floors. They were cupping during our so call warranty period and he quit responding to emails. He can’t claim the first job was not bad. He NEVER had the courtesy to come look when we told him they SWIRL MARKS were not minor. How many people want to pay for flooring cupping and have to learn from other flooring companies and Rob’s own vendor that the problem is from not acclimating. I like how he avoids the problem. All their other mistakes are mute. The entire floor is ruined from not acclimating the floor.

I have questioned 14 reviewers and only had 6 respond. One of the six was actually a bad review that was taken down. The California review has not responded. The Utah reviewer did respond and Unilocal corrected his double review. He had work done in 2012 not 2014**
FYI do a $ 6.00 TDPS background check before you hire any workers to come into your home.
Trying to take time off and get a ridiculous email from a response from Rob .Not sure why Rob does not remember damaging another companies work. He has several emails on everything they did wrong. Ossie the project manager was shown the day Rob’s workers sanded down the rails caps the stair company installed days before. THEY SANDED THE RAIL CAP AT AN ANGLE TO MEET THEIR FLOORING.
Rob can never answer us directly. The floors WERE NOT acclimated. I have the proof in invoices. March 21 Ossie came for estimate, March 26 we made first required upfront payment. April 2 and April 3 oak flooring brought to house and nailed in same day. April 7 floors stained. Rob look at your invoices and schedule before you make up a fake story.
The day they brought the wood to our home it was nailed in, the next day sanded and then stained on the fourth day. Our family plus neighbors can verify. We never use water to mop our floors nor is it a moisture issue in our home. Other wood floor installed in other rooms and none of them are cupping. He never came to our home until the second failed job. His project manager gave us our quote and talked to the workers. If a business is going to reply at least be honest!

Rob and his guys installed all new wood floors throughout my home. The floors looked beautiful by the end of the project. The company was ready to answer any questions I had, and they made sure that the job was done properly with the best result in mind. They were very thorough and let me know the timeframe of the project along the way. This company takes pride in the work they do, and it shows in the end product.

I would highly recommend Joe Hardwood! They did a wonderful job sanding and staining existing hardwood, and installing new hardwood in our bedroom to replace the ratty carpet – they also blended them seamlessly. This was all done for a very reasonable price.
What really impressed me about Rob and his crew was how they went the extra mile. Due to a unfortunate miscommunication, the crew was locked out of our house for the second day of sanding. Neither my husband not I could leave work to go let them in, so the crew drove to my place of work (20 minutes away) to get a key from me. They also very carefully covered and taped off all of our paintings, TV, kitchen, etc. to make sure that they didn’t get damaged by the sawdust.
In short, the floors look great and the customer service was amazing!

I’ll gladly recommend Joe Hardwood.
We were looking to get our engineered hardwood floors refinished, and another company said they wouldn’t be able to do it. However, Rob visited and said they would likely be able to complete the project successfully, but clearly presented another option for installing new flooring in case the floors were not able to be sanded.
In addition, they were able to remove carpet and tile from stairs and the kitchen in order to create a totally matched hardwood look. You can’t tell where the old wood ends and the new wood begins.
He and his team worked with us on scheduling around other work happening in the house at the same time and were able to complete work on time.
The floors are a huge improvement — went from a dated high gloss butterscotch to a satin finish with the ‘weathered oak’ color. They didn’t use the Minwax stain, but apparently had a similar color blended, which looks great.

Found the company by a simple google search — Unilocal Reviews popped up with everything I needed: reviews, photos, etc. After a discrepancy with the initial estimate after the job was near complete due to a miscalculation of square feet required, Rob was able to remedy the situation in a professional manner. I highly recommend Rob and his men to do work for you.
Note: I had zero other bids for my job, but was very pleased with the price he gave me (compared to what i hear other people were charging /​paying per sq ft installation).

Rob and his team at Joe Hardwood floors are very easy to work with, professional, and do high quality work. We are happy that we chose them, and it’s nice to know we can get high quality work done at reasonable prices. Rob has also been very accommodating to our schedule.

I had Joe’s Hardwood Floors install hardwood floor for me last week. I supplied the wood they installed it. Everything went as planned and the floors look great. They seem to have done a great job with the install. Rob explained every step of the way and worked with me on payment. Price seemed fair even cheaper than another place I looked.
Would definitely work with them again if ever needed.

This firm came in equal for price with another solid looking outfit. I chose them as they looked slightly more organized than the others.
The job was all done in the appointed time, with no issues while they had the care of our house.
When we saw the job we were very satisfied with the results. He color was fantastic and the texture a lovely matte finish, a huge improvement on the old one. The alcohol treatment really brought out the grain.
They sorted out really quickly a couple of small defects after our walk through.
All up a great job and we would be happy to use them again (hopefully not for a long time).

I decided to get an estimate from Rob who runs Joe Hardwood Floors after our home flooded in May. His estimate came in at a price that I felt was very competitive and incredibly reasonable given the positive feedback he has on Unilocal and Google. He was always on time to meet up, he scheduled a specific date he would begin and end his work (and he stuck to the schedule!!), and he also stayed true to his original estimate for the cost of the job; this is more than I can say for just about any contractor we’ve hired over the years. I was concerned that the floors would look different. I loved the color, type of wood, and look of our older floors and I saved a few of the trashed boards to show Rob and his guys so they knew what color and type of wood we used to have. They made them look just like our old floors, but even better. He really got the color, look, and quality to be perfect.
Any questions or concerns I had, Rob was always quick to reply.
I will absolutely call Rob at Joe Hardwood Floors if I move and need to upgrade flooring at a new residence!

Joe Hardwood did a great job, both in quality of work and price. We had moved into a four-​story home with multiple finishes and carpeting. They were able to match the finishes and lay down hardwoods to replace the carpeting. The price was competitive and the work was excellent.

Rob and his guys did a fantastic job on my original hardwood floor refinishing job. The work was done in a very neat and timely matter. I would definitely recommend his company for any wood flooring needs.

Joe did an installation at my home a while ago and did a fabulous job. I had hardwood floors installed which took 2 full days but the team was professional and to top it off very friendly. All for a fair price for a decent sized home.

I picked them because of high reviews. Rob (the owner) was honest and fair on price. There was a big mistake on the bid given by one of Rob’s employees and Rob honored the price given by the employee. Quality of work was good too. I will use him for any floors in the future.

We used Joe Hardwood to install flooring in our master bedroom and match it to the existing floors in the house. They did an excellent Job and matched the color EXACTLY! They did it right on schedule and were very professional.

Second time using Joe’s Hardwood floor. As always I got several bids. Rob Navon came by and quick assessed that floors were quarter sawn; none of the previous companies even said that. Joe’s Hardwood Floors was one of the 3 companies that I called to get a bid to refinished my wood floors. I hired this guy last year to refinish my floors and after the second try the floors look horrible. Joe’s team came to re-​refinish my floors, and they exceed my expectations. My floors are beautiful again they look brand new. My floors are alive! Thank you Ossie!

Very satisfied. All we needed done was to have matched ¼ round installed on our 60 year old hardwoods. We called around to several places and NOONE would do it. Finally found a place that would do it… for $ 1K. Uh, no thanks. Our last and final call was to Joe Hardwood Floors. They said they would do it and they did it for half the cost of the competition’s above quote. They stained and matched the ¼ round and installed it in about 4 hours. They even came back and restrained the threshold that we felt was a bit lighter than the rest, and they did at no cost. This is a great business. Great communication, great price for materials and install. We couldn’t be happier with the job they did.
