History

Established in 1984.

Joe Robbins graduated with a BA in Commercial Illustration Photography from Brooks Institute of Photography in Santa Barbara, worked for several commercial studios over the next ten years and then created Joe Robbins Photography in 1984. Joe discovered photography while in the Army, stationed in Turkey, on the Black Sea, in 1967.

The area was full of natural and man made beauty and Joe seemed to have an eye for noticing this and captivating it too with his camera.

As time passed the photography thing grew and so did joe’s understanding on how to make better photographs. With the encouragement of fellow army buddies, Joe signed up at Brooks Institute of Photography in Santa Barbara and went on to get his Commercial Photography degree.

After Brooks, Joe worked for five commercial studios over the next ten years and in 1984 created Joe Robbins Photography in Houston. Joe is still loving photography and is a heck of a good shooter too.
