Joke Joint Comedy Showcase

Found these guys on Goldstar. Service was a 5 Star! The place smelled like fried onion rings-​Yuck! Comedians were okay. Headliner was great!

My friend and I had a blast here. The drinks are really good. We didn’t have snacks so I can’t comment on the food. The parking lot is well lit. This place is cozy inside and it seems like every place to sit is a good place. It’s a casual, laid back place. The comedians were pretty funny with some funnier than others of course, but it’s still a good time. Maggie Maye was really good. Good vibe in the place. We’ll go back and take our friends next time.

Used to go there all the time for defensive driving classes when that location was doing business as The Comedy Showcase. Went to the Sheng Wang performance on January 2, 2016 at 10:30 pm and was terribly dissappointed in the performance and tje establishment. The headline comedian was not funny at all. Kept talking mostly abouy life experiences. Tuned him out about 11:15 and just mostly at my food. The food quality is extremely poor and very expensive. A soda served in a 12oz glass filled with mostly ice was $ 4.50. The onion rings were extremely salty and previously frozen slop and the ranch dressing was on par with the subgeneric dressing you buy at Fiesta which gave me diaherria afterwards. The chips with cheese was the typical purchase from a wholesale club with the canned fake nacho cheese they sell in a 106 oz can. No way in hell would I purchase a ticket to the show if management requires a 2 item purchase in the club. The money I spent for cheap quality carnival food and a lousy comedian would have bought a nice dinner at Vic and Anthony’s for dinner and a Netflix rental of Comedy Central.

Staff was very prompt and courteous. Line went very fast even though we did not purchase tickets prior. The only reason I am knocking down one star is due to the food, which is comparable to typical bar food with little seasoning.

The service was exceptional! FYI the voucher on Unilocal is only good for admission. Our disappointment came with the comedians themselves. At least 50% of the material was about enlarged body parts or what someone does in bed. It was so repetitive that the material from one comedian to another often overlapped. Adding three expletives to a sentence doesn’t make it funny. There is so much more to laugh at about ourselves. We held on waiting for the mainliner. He started out with some funny material and within 5 minutes was in the same rut as the others. We finally gave up after the first 15 minutes of the main comedian and rented a movie. We would have enjoyed our evening so much more if the Joke Joint was a restaurant. You know how 5^th grade boys think burping and farting is funny, maybe I’m just old and 20 year old’s think swearing is funny.

Incredible show, good service, drinks aren’t horribly priced.

Comedians where the best, but the service was not up to par maybe it was a off night for them

Well, I don’t have anything bad to say. We dropped in last minute on a date night. Seated right away, drink orders taken and delivered to us quickly. (Regretting not taking a picture of my cherry vodka sour as it was possibly the best I’ve ever had. Just the right amount of vodka with a little tower of cherries and a cute little umbrella.) The comedians were funny. The place was clean. The people were nice. Good times. Will be going back when I’m on that side of town for sure.

I came here for the first time with a friend (thanks to LivingSocial) Went to check it out with a friend and saw a couple of comedians and It was awesome! much more affordable than other comedy places. Their Sex on the beach was tasty and strong… Mamma Likes ;) I was not very hungry but still tried their fried pickles which surprisingly were really good. I am so looking forward to coming here again.

Show was good up until the last performer who didn’t know how to control a crowd and kept having his show interrupted by a group of people. I’ve seen the old manage give warnings of getting kicked out, but this management didn’t do anything not a warning not even telling them to keep it down. They just let the small crowd ruin the show for everyone else.

Have been coming here at least 1 – 2 times a year for a decade and the place has always been solid. The newest owners have made it even better. The local opening acts are hit and miss, but the headliners are always great

They always call me for deals and specials without fail and there is never a dull moment. I love the new 2 item minimum, instead of being limited to 2 drinks.
My husband and I have been going there for years, bringing friends, fun birthday parties and I love when I’m up front and picked on!!!

This club helps develop young and aspiring comedians to reach their full potential. It always features a up and coming guy while having a national headliner rip the stage up. You can catch comedians such as Juan Villareal here on the regular.

This is my first comedy show, and I’m already hooked on coming back, although the location is out of my way. 40 minutes!
The only down side is that their bathroom is crowded and their drinks are overpriced… a bottled water is almost the same price as a beer. It’s ridiculous.
The acts were great. I definitely enjoyed my night. I’ll be back soon!

After moving to Houston from NYC, I’ve been missing good, cheap standup like UCB. I was really surprised by this venue — it’s small and intimate and totally devoted to standup comedy. I went on a Wednesday night for their open mic, which is FREE. So 5 stars for them.
In terms of the comedy I heard… I was cringing every time a white man over the age 35 went on stage because without fail they would make painfully awkward racist attempts at jokes. And I don’t mean that in an «I’m offended» kind of way, it’s more in a «that’s not funny» or «that’s really disturbing» kind of way rather than making funny or intelligent social commentary. yuck. Luckily there were also some talented, hysterical comedians there that had me rolling on the floor laughing, so I’d go back for that.

Hilarious! Will be returning!
