Just Brows By Shainy

She did a great job with my brows. I have very thin brows and every time I have it «professionally» done, I’m disappointed. For the first time in years I was amazed with my eyebrows, she cleaned it, shaped it, and tinted it. The reason why I did not give 5 stars, is because the location a little hard to find, especially if it’s your first time going there.

I guess this is the place to go if you have severe eyebrow issues or can’t get waxed by regular salons? I don’t know but I wasn’t very pleased with my service. I thought we would have a quick consultation and she would reshape my brows and work magic but in the end I had a regular wax that took 8 minutes max. She didn’t tweeze my brows fully and did not trim them down like I normally prefer (I have long, thick brows). I waited for her 30+ minutes because of traffic and she threw in a free brow powder but altogether I still paid close to $ 50. Overpriced in my opinion and not worth the wax for me. The wax does not last as long as other places. Do yourself a favor and save yourself some $ by going somewhere else

Cons– I really don’t like the shape (had better for much less money)
Honestly she makes 40 $ per 30 mins so 80 $ an hour. I was expected to be amazed!!! I wasn’t!!!

Honestly I don’t understand what’s so great about this place she’s ok but not for 50 $ not worth it at all!!! She was fast left my eyebrows to high and thin I’m so upset anyway worst of all she’s super messy left wax all over my nose and face never again will I go back. Girls just go somewhere else that charges less.

If you are serious about maintaining thicker brows, then I would recommend Shainy. I use to do threading and had some great experiences, but then I switched to Shainy (after turning to Unilocal for a trusted brow business) after I had my right eyebrow threaded thin one time (yikes) by a former threader I loved. She really knows what she is doing shape wise because I leave looking like I have even thicker brows because she creates defined brows.

I wasn’t blessed with full, thick brows so I came to Just Brows for eyebrow tinting so that they’ll look more full or filled. I found this place through Unilocal because of the good reviews.
As I walked into the back door, the ambiance was nice and welcoming, however, she does not say much. I get set up into the chair, she puts the gel on my brows…15 minutes pass and she comes to wipe off the dye. After she cleans me up (I’m still laying there), she says she can’t really do it and that it isn’t going to look right. She hands me the mirror and I just see sloppiness. She didn’t clean the dye off to the shape of my brows, so I have excess dye here and there on my skin. It was just two dark blobs with missing patches.
I asked her for her advice since she is a brow expert, then she says I should have grown out my brows before coming. I told her my brows don’t grow, I just came for a tint, not for her to completely shape my brows. I then asked to clean it up since I thought it looked sloppy. I barely had any regrows, but I felt her pluck literally 3 strands.
I just wanted to get out of there by now. It was awkward. She charged me an additional $ 10 because she said she cleaned it up and had to tweeze the (3) hairs. I’ve seen brow tinting before and this is not the way to do it. Overall, my expectations from other reviews were high, and I left here very disappointed. I would not be coming here again.

Shainy is the best in Houston! I am very picky about my arches, and Shainy manicures them to perfection, using a combination of waxing, threading, tweezing and trimming. The price is a bit high compared to other places ($ 40), but it really is worth it to create a lovely frame for your face.

I left feeling very disappointed! I have high expectations when it comes to my eyebrows. I have been getting them done at Damone Roberts for about 7 years and now I’m in houston I just haven’t been able to find anyone to live up to him. I grew my eyebrows out for over 2 months! Walking around looking crazy and for what. The top of my brow no longer has a arch. Under my brow looks like a rainbow. To pay $ 45 I expect close to perfection! I will continue to pay $ 7 at the mall and get them threaded. I have really nice thick brow and wish to keep them this way. Feeling really sad right now.

I have been going to Shainy for years. I live over 200 miles away, but I always make sure that I have an appointment with her every time I’m in town. I do not trust anyone else when it comes to my brows. She is definitely the best of the best!

I read all the reviews before going and expected better looking brows than i have gotten in the past from the threading people at the mall, but honestly, they look exactly the same. The threading people are WAY cheaper, so even though Shainy did a good job, I’m not going to be going back if it’s just the same as going to the threading place. My brows were almost $ 50 with her if you include the tip. More than a haircut. Kinda crazy.

Best brow job I’ve ever had. Hands down. I dont even have an arched brow naturally but she shaped it so good it feels like I got a brow lift. I will officially go nowhere else!

Wow! I took a chance and got my brows done a week before my wedding, without ever having an appointment with her before. I called her Saturday morning, and we played phone tag with each other. Somehow, through messages, she was able to fit me as her last client of the day.
She’s a bit pricey for the first time ($ 40), if you come in with bushy eyebrows like I did. But trust me, after you see the end results, you’ll be happy you spent it t Shainy’s.

Shainy is THE brow expert in Houston. She is honest, professional and very talented. She is currently working to correct the butcher job from my last wax. After the first session, they already look so much better. I can’t wait to see how they look after a few sessions! Shainy is truly worth every dime.

In preparation for my upcoming wedding, I’m trying to get my brows in tip top shape so I decided to go to the expert… or so I’ve heard. After weeks of playing phone tag with Shainy, I booked an evening appointment. Now that’s convenient!
Everyone has always alluded to the fact that she’s «expensive» but no one had admitted the amount to me. Well my friends… that amount is $ 35. Shocking, I know… but when you’ve been scarred (not physically, or maybe you have) by bad eyebrow shapings, you don’t want to take any chances.
Her place is hard to find if you rely on a shoddy GPS (turn left on 5^th if you’re heading north on Heights blvd). She’s the yellow house… entrance is down the stone path on the right and leads to the back of the house. It was an interesting set up and I definitely had some awkward moments there in the tiny room, but she did a fantastic job on my brows.
I asked her not to use wax since I use Retin-​A on my face, and she happily obliged. She threads the top but tweezes to shape them. They have never been more even. Pricey? Yes. But worth it if your regular place is inconsistent and sends you home with funky brows sometimes.

I have been using Shainy for my brows for a few years now. She is just fantastic. It’s amazing how much the shape of the brows can enhance the look of your entire face. After Ike a couple years ago, I had to go to a different brow place, because Shainy was closed for a bit. Biggest mistake ever, the woman waxed off half of my left brow. I consulted Shainy as soon as I could, she gave the suggestion to let it grow as much as possible and at my next appt with her, she was able to reshape and fix up the botched job.
Not only is Shainy great with brows, she is a lovely person too!

She is absolutely the BEST for eyebrows! However, it seemed like I had to go in every two weeks. When I got my brows done by a different person I could go just once a month. I don’t know why this would be but I’d rather not spend 80 bucks a month for my eyebrows.
Plus, she would always tell me that my face was too soft and that I had bad collagen or something along the lines of that. I am only 22! I don’t think my face needs to be firm, its not like my skin is sagging! It was kind of an insult to me, although i’m sure she didn’t mean to come off like that.
over all she is very good, but I just think she is a bit too expensive for eyebrows.

Shainey is awesome! she can do eyebrows like no other. Literally after years and years and years of horrible eyebrow disasters I FINALLY found somone who knows what she is doing!
Not only is she awesome at eyebrows but she is an awesome person! very wise with priceless advice! =)
Speaking of price, yea she is rather pricey, but to me she is totally worth it!!!

Another wonderful session with Shainy! She is the ultimate brow expert! Waxing, threading, plucking, cutting… the works: P I even brought my mom along for a facial, which she loved. She also decided to get her brows done and even though she didn’t have much to shape, they still look better and I’m pretty sure she’ll be back! :)
I really love my brows! LOL I came in today with some brows that needed some serious sculpting but wow does she works wonders and gives me such a beautiful beautiful shape that I feel like i need less makeup now :) I love them, I seriously can’t stop staring at them.
She’s very sweet and you can tell she takes a lot of pride in her work and loves making her clients feel good about themselves.
I have one brow that isn’t as long and is higher than the other but she takes the time to detail them and makes sure that they compliment my face. I feel like I need less eye makeup now: P no lie!
Her studio is right by Heights Boulevard and she takes appointments. She used to be in Austin too but now she’s just stationed in Houston.
OH YEAH! Almost forgot, she’ll have a little feature in Instyle Magazine October (they called her for an interview! totally surprised her, lol).
I don’t know if she minds me saying this but if you bring in an October 2010 copy of Instyle you’l get 10% off your brow waxing.

I have been going to Shainy for 5 years now and could not think of going anywhere else. She uses wax and threads your eyebrows to make them perfect. If you want guaranteed good results this is the place to go. She makes sure you look great and is very detailed in her work. I can also say that she loves her clients and truly enjoys her job.

I started going to Shainy sometime in Sept. 2009. I did my research and looked for the best in eyebrows. I set up my appointment without hesitation. She is so sweet and listens to what you want to achieve. She talked me through her process, which includes waxing, threading and plucking. End result — perfect eyebrows!!! It pricier, compared to what I used to pay, but it’s so worth it! Never again will I get my eyebrows done by the lady at the nail place or anywhere else for that matter. Since then, I have gone back to Shainy, and trust only her with my eyebrows! I do suggest calling 2 weeks in advance to make an appt.
