Kelsey-Seybold Clinic – Main Campus

The staff and facility here is absolutely first class — no doubt. I was scheduled for an ultrasound at 11am (arrived a few minutes late) and was usher in with an escort directly to my room. The procedure was seamless and the service was amazing. I would highly recommend Kelsey-​Seybold without any hesitation.

They took GREAT care of my yesterday for my procedure. I was a bit nervous. No correction, I was horrified but it went well. The nurses handled me very carefully the doctors talked me threw everything and explained what was going on. Some of the nurses were better than others but it’s all about experience. I overall give Kelsey Seybold Clinic a 100 out of 100. I felt safe, comfortable, and warm because I was damn near naked with that peak a boo hospital gown they gave me. So they kept giving me warm blankets. That was nice and thoughtful. The nurses were funny and that helped me to get out of my head and relax. After that I don’t remember much. Lol that’s a good thing. I don’t think I wanted to know. But I feel great. I have a few more procedures to go and after that we’ll see. UPDATE: This past Friday May 6^th 2016 I went in for another procedure at the Kelsey Seybold main campus. Nervous as ever and have to wait for results. Im hoping for the best. I don’t have much really to update but will however post pics from my recent visit.

My wife and I are members of KelseyCare Medicare Advantage, and couldn’t be more pleased with the level of care we receive. Arrive early for your appointment, as you’ll likely be seen precisely at your scheduled time, or even a bit before. Our doctors (including specialists) are highly competent, compassionate and caring. We’ve both had major surgical procedures … from cataracts to quadruple bypass … and all has turned out well (my wife even received a call from her gastroenterologist on a Sunday evening, several weeks post-​op, just to see how she was coming along). We’ve also e-​mailed and texted our physicians drectly with specific questions, and received prompt replies.
These aren’t those second-​rate docs that you often run into at the typical HMO … as an example, my ophthalmologist has an undergraduate degree, MD and Ph. D from Harvard … hardly ordinary credentials … and she’s as congenial as she is skilled.
It’s truly a one-​stop shop … if you need a prescription, each clinic has its own pharmacy, and the doctor simply transmits the order, so that you may pick up your meds on your way out. X-​rays, bloodwork and other diagnostic procedures can be performed on the spot, and the physician often has the results by the time you’re seen. No question that it’s the most efficient system we’ve ever experienced. Everyone seems to like working there. There are even several clinics open on Saturday.
You can opt for an out-​of-​network program (at about $ 75 per month in addition to Medicare Part B), but we’ve had no need for it … we’re very comfortable with every physician who has treated us.
We’ve been seen at this campus, as well as Meyerland and Tanglewood, and the standards remain the same. The program is rated five stars (that’s the maximum) by Medicare, meaning that one needn’t wait for the open enrollment period to become a member … to my knowledge, there are no other such HMO’s in the state. If you’re Medicare-​eligible, by all means look into Kelsey-​Seybold. It’s how our system of health care can and should operate.

It feels that they need more parking spaces but people are coming and going that you’ll find one with no issues.
Pharmacy is very professional and quick. I like that they have a counseling section before they had you over they meds! Why doesn’t everyone do that?!

I don’t have to come to this location very often but I will say they’re always very organized and efficient.

I am looking for a new dr and found that kelsey seybold accepts my insurance. I called to schedule an appointment and the receptionist that answered the phone was so extremely rude for absolutely no reason that I had to hang up and am now continuing my search. Very disappointing!

Even though I was 10 minutes early for my appointment i had to wait 40 minutes before seeing the doctor and this was for a 9:30 appointment time.

I’ve been going to Kelsey Seybold for years.
But their lack of quality before quantity is really upsetting.
I am tired of only getting an average of 40 seconds with the doctor. For my last physical the doctor only saw me for roughly that amount of time and didn’t address any of my concerns.
DO NOT GO HERE IF THOROUGHNESS IS IMPORTANT TO YOU. I used to go here for last minute appointments if I was sick. I can hardly go at all. Sick of them cramming so many appointments with a doctor that the doctor has no time to properly examine you.

Kelsey Seybold has been our health care providers for the past 10 years. They have some very good pediatric physicians. Dr. Lewis is incredible and so is Dr Byrd. but the adult care is severely lacking. they will not do any diagnostic tests for adults no cat scans and no MRIs. my wife had a fracture in her back and she saw 3 Kelsey doctors in one week, one of them a spine specialist. All of them told her that she she’s had a pinched or compressed nerve. Finally, I had to take her to the ER because her pain was unbearable. They did a cat scan in the ER and found the fracture. Take your kids there for quality healthcare, but if you’re an adult and want to get better, stay away!

I have not in the last decade experienced the kind of indifference to my health and well-​being that I have experienced at Kelsey-​Seybold clinic. The staff make it very very clear by their actions that they do not care one bit for my health.
Dr. Snyder, my gastroenterologist, wants me to take a certain medication and it’s urgent, because I am hemorrhaging. In order to get my insurance company to cover it, they have to submit a prior authorization to the insurance company. The insurance company says that unless the PA is marked «urgent», they won’t even get to look at it for at least 72 business hours. The nurse, Lynell, refuses to mark the PA as «urgent», because she says medications are never urgent. I cannot talk to Dr. Snyder about this because Lynell is the gatekeeper: she decides who talks to Dr. Snyder and who does not. It’s been five days since I was supposed to start taking this medication.
I called and asked if I could speak to an office manager. I was transferred to 4 different phones in the building, none of them belonging to the office manager. I ended up back at the front desk on transfer 5, and was told I could talk to an administrator named Tavkar. I was supposedly transferred to Mr. or Ms. Tavkar, but the phone rang and rang with no voicemail.
The nurse and the telephone receptionists regularly talk over me, talk down to me, contradict me when I tell them what my insurance company has communicated, etc.
I give up. I AM going to file a complaint with the DOH, but I want other people to know that Kelsey-​Seybold is a NIGHTMARE. Dr. Snyder may care, but his staff do not.

This review is for the colonoscopy department. This team of caring and professional therapists made my first colonoscopy almost, ALMOST, something I’m happy to repeat. This is medicine the way you would hope it could be. The dream team of colonoscopies! Kind, patient, efficient. It was over before I knew it was starting and the results and feedback were prompt and careful and comprehensive. Highly recommend!

I had the most pleasant experience that I’ve ever had at a doctor’s office at this Kelsey-​Seybold Clinic. I was having stomach issues, so I called the clinic for an appointment. Originally the scheduler told me there weren’t any openings, but once I explained my symptoms, he fit me in for the same day. As soon as I got there, the whole staff was very friendly. From check-​in to check-​out, everyone was very pleasant and accommodating. There was not a long wait time (well, not longer than expected for a doctor’s office). The doctor (Dr. Fadulu) was thorough with his check-​up and listened to everything I had to say.
I told him I had an issue finding an allergy doctor in Houston because everyone kept scheduling me for 6 – 8 weeks out even though I needed care now. He told me to go to the allergy clinic on the same campus. I walked over and they fit me in for the very next day. I had the same experience with the allergy clinic — friendly staff and doctor (Dr. Sandberg) that was thorough. He made sure that any prescriptions he gave me were affordable according to my insurance, which was nice since I’m a student and on a limited budget.
I had a great experience here and will continue to come back to this clinic!

It’s been really simple the process of making an appointment (sometimes) and getting to the clinic for your appointment.

Staff is friendly, I am here pretty regularly due to having knee surgery.
Clean place, Dr. Shah is the doctor who repaired my knee. I re injured it again, so I am back again.
Always prompt service, x rays are usually quick and seeing the doctor is also pretty quick. They are willing to answer all of your questions and I dont feel like they are rushing me just to get the next patient.

Just had my first mammogram. I was totally nervous but had no need to be. Sure, it was a little awkward but nowhere near as painful as people would have you believe. A kind German woman was my radiology tech and she couldn’t have made me more comfortable.
I love Kelsey-​Seybold and the mayo clinic model. So glad we don’t have aetna anymore so that we could come back.

The billing transparency was horrifying for me. My physician recommended that I get blood work done. I decided to ask for insurance coverage first at the blood work lab front desk, then the lab front window, then to the labcorp hotline, then to the billing hotline, then to my insurance hotline, then back to the physician front desk.
It took me 2 hours to uncover that the bloodwork would end up costing me $ 800 out of pocket. I’m glad I asked, and I’m very concerned that no one warned me about the financial burden of this optional blood work nor that no one person could tell me how much I was going to pay.

Somehow KS keeps managing to get my review removed. We will see if this one will stay up. This review has to do with my experience at this location 2727 West Holcombe blvd. Houston, TX 77 025
At the initial appointment we were told it was more than likely her gallbladder needed to be removed. He then sent her for a second ultrasound to confirm that it was in fact her gallbladder. At this time they said everything looked good except for her gallbladder. No other issues were noted.
We had an appointment for 7:15am Friday 3÷14÷14 to get the Gallbladder removed. My wife was in recovery by 10:15. When she woke up she was in great pain. Her abdomen was hurting. She was given five different kinds of pain meds and her pain was still ¹⁰⁄₁₀. We were discharged at about 11:30.
On Saturday my wife still could not walk or get out of bed. We called the nurse on duty twice, spoke with Dr. Baird, and he prescribed a stronger pain killer. This did not work. We called again on Sunday and were told nothing else could be done and our choices were to go to the ER or make an appointment at a KS clinic on Monday.
We arrived at St. Lukes ER at 1:00. Heart rate was still high and we were sent to a room in the ER right away. Heart rate was up to 138 and not coming down. Ran tests, CT scan, X-​rays, etc… We were sent to a room at 8:00 that night.
Monday we were told that there was a bowel obstruction and surgery was needed. Surgery was scheduled for Tuesday. The pain was still intense and my wife has had nothing to eat or drink in three days at this point.
On Tuesday surgery was performed by Dr. Jackson. Once he got in he found 2.5 liters of bile inside her stomach. A titanium clip that had been put on the cystic bile duct had come off releasing bile into the stomach. This was infected and we were also told her intestines were inflamed and twisted. After nearly a three hour surgery she went to the ICU recovery room. My wife could have died as a result of this.
On Wednesday the entire day was spent in ICU and we finally got a regular room Wednesday night. All of this time my wife was NPO which meant no food or water.
We finally got released on Monday afternoon 3÷24÷14.
What started out as a simple procedure with four small incisions has left my wife in pain more than a month later and a huge scar that begins below her belly button and goes all the way up her chest.
One thing that bothers me the most is that at no time did we have any contact with Dr. Baker after everything went wrong. No phone call, no visit, nothing… Dr. Baker and Dr. Jackson are both in the same office so I am sure he was told about it. On a funny note when we had the follow up appointment with Dr. Baker he asked us if we would like to make KS our primary care physician. It was almost comical. I think we will stick with our regular doctor thanks.”

Review is based on how quick I was able to get in to see a doctor for an allergy issue. I called the clinic hotline and they were able to get me in to see a GP doctor the same afternoon right next to my home.
Once at the clinic check is was quick and the wait was less than 5 minutes!
Staff was friendly but my doctor was a bit odd. He didn’t have a diagnoses and prescribed me a steroid. My allergy is still here so we will see what happens.
I use Kelsey Seybold for other medical needs. My OBGYN is phenomenal! She does not practice at this location. I will leave that review for the Women’s Center.
Overall this location is convenient for me since I live so close. I will come back if needed. Maybe just choose a different dr.
Parking for visitors is FREE! That is an A++!

I am trying to find my groove with Houston health care. I get that y’all have the Medical Center and all, but it’s hard to feel comfortable and «at home» with a doctor here, which is a huge part of my medical experience. I wept when my employer told me that Kaiser Permanente wasn’t an option in Houston, even though I go to California every 3 – 6 weeks, and it’s so easy to schedule an appointment…
So, I have gone now to Kelsey Seybold West, Methodist Medical Center, and now this KS Main Campus. I think this Main Campus is the closest thing that I’d expect to the Kaiser NorCal experience:
– Kind, knowledgeable doctors who are willing to take phone calls and emails once you’ve established a relationship.
– One-​stop-​shop. Pharmacy, labs, specialty doctors, generalists. One place, and possible to schedule appointments in one day.
– Online system. Their implementation of the EPIC medical records system isn’t as pretty as Kaiser’s, but you can schedule appointments, email doctors, and view test results. Good enough for me.
I came here to see GI (gastroenterologist) Dr. Galler. I would say he’s a knowledgeable, slightly sarcastic/​pragmatic, but cool enough to tell me that I can overcome or plan around my foodie issues to be a better Unilocaler. («Eat earlier in the day…») Awesome.
I also saw immunologist /​allergy specialist extraordinaire Dr. Harrison. I CANNOT SAY ENOUGH ABOUT THIS GUY. Super thorough, super kind, super duper patient. This appointment started with a thorough regimen of questions that proceeded in a very logical manner. Then, we talked about causes (there are none), triggers (there are several), and much better ways of managing my allergies with OTCs and prescriptions when I have really bad days. I cannot say enough about his demeanor throughout this whole thing. I feel like this guy is looking out for me, and without me having to beg or ask too many questions. If I could, I’d give him a six star Unilocal rating. That awesome.
Both doctors said I was healthy enough to avoid a battery of tests, which I can appreciate. Harrison said, «Since you’re seeing Galler next, wait til after you’ve seen him to go to the [blood] lab; that way, you only have to get ‘stuck’ [by a needle] once.»
The pharmacist had me cracking up. I think she’s training to be a doctor. She put me through a crazier set of questions than Galler and Harrison together. It’s nice to know that what I was given won’t interact negatively with the rest of my life or change my lifestyle — I’ll give her that.
Dr. Mehta in the dermatology department will get your skin fixed in 3 – 6 months. She’s high in demand, and some of her suggestions may be expensive. But my breakouts have drastically gone down.
Ok, so the campus itself is nice enough. It’s not fancy, knock-​your-​socks-​off, brand new or anything. It gets the job done, which is fine enough for me.
