Kelsey-Seybold Clinic – Spring Medical and Diagnostic Center

Really disappointed in this clinic. Poor customer service! First they called before my appointment quoted me a whole different amount of how much I was going to pay for my appointments. So I immediately called my insurance because I knew there was a mistake. My insurance spent 30 min trying to explain my benefits until they finally agreed after requesting a manager. Once I arrived I was taken to a room where two managers one name (Latoya) tried explaining to me all the cost to my appointment plans. Made me feel like I could not afford the plan telling me I should apply for Medicaid instead just because I ask to break down how much labs and ultrasound cost! Ladies were rude not on the same page! Never will I go back to this clinic. Disappointed because Dr. Frome was a great doctor.

I made an appointment this morning and the lady Shay that made my appointment was so pleasant and caring. I have yet to see my doctor yet but when I do I will definitely make another review. I have read previous reviews where it states the staff are bad but so far so good. Really big thanks to Ms. Shay for being so helpful and walking me through everything and answering all of my questions over the phone.

I see Dr Nuruddin at Kelsey Spring and she is the best. I have friends that come to her and love her too. She’s very perceptive and always sees me promptly. I’ve come for all sorts of problems — skin masses, falls down stairs and subsequent injuries — and she always makes sure I’m treated properly. If she doesn’t know what’s going on, she refers me to a specialist. Dr Markham, the dermatologist here, is also very good and she does minor surgeries in office. My mother is a doctor and has accompanied me to appointments and she was impressed as well.
The lab here is also excellent. Every time I come here, the stick is painless– not so at Kelsey Main Campus or other phlebotomy places. I never have to wait too long and they do Saturday appointments too, which is incredibly convenient because I get sick a LOT and they always see me the same weekend.
I’ve had X-​rays here too and they are very nice as well. Be warned though — they bill separately for Xrays and radiology interpretations, so I ended up paying a LOT more than my insurance initially said I would. Be sure that it is covered before you have them done!

For a Med center this place is great! Fast and efficient. An in and out visit in less than 45 minutes.

Very poor customer service all the way around. I switched insurance companies last year & they failed to let me know in a timely fashion that my recently changed insurance was not going through which has resulted into a nightmare. No one has kept me up to date about this issue, instead I have to keep calling to get updates. One of the customer service reps insisted it was my fault because the second time, after providing the correct information back in 2014 (ID card, etc.) that it was my fault that it was not filed in a timely fashion. How unprofessional & insensitive to say, this is someone’s health care! It is the providers responsibility to assist with being a liason between the patient & insurance provider. I have never had to deal with this kind of issue & they cannot assume that all patients know the «providers» rules.
My current insurance provider has been trying to reach out to them & they have been dragging their feet since last year which resulted in turning my account over to collections. Ridiculous! This issue is still going on as I await for them to send in a notice of timely filing, etc. I have had many wonderful experiences with Kelsey Seybold since I was a little girl & to receive this type of treatment has me looking to change clinics. I have seen my doctors age as they have seen me grow. Also, I, along with others I have spoken to feel the new wave doctors & customer service reps. (not all, but the ones we have experienced for convenience) are not as personal. It’s like you are another number & not a patient of a clinic that has been around since forever in the greater Houston|Spring community. I’m not into smashing a business on reviews but I’m not into someone wrongly smashing on my credit either, kapish? Hope to get this issue resolved before it escalates.

This is only the second time I’ve been to this facility. I was impressed with the promptness of Dr. Bellie seeing me and his personality. And if the lab had been the least bit courteous I would have given them a higher rating.
I checked into the lab and was the only one waiting. After about 5 min another patient sat down to wait and she was seen within 5 min. Then another patient sat down and she was seen within 5 minutes. Each time the lab tech came out to call a patient I would look at her and she continued to ignore me. As a third patient sat down I went back to the checkin counter to make sure the buzzer they gave me was working. (It’s just like the ones they give you at restaurants). She said all was fine and amazingly as she’s holding it, it finally went off. So from my perspective, it wasn’t until I got up to complain that they decided to see me.
I know this is not my normal Dr. but mine was closed on Saturday and I couldn’t wait until Monday. The look that the tech gave me as I stared at her each time she looked my way was obvious she didn’t care that I was being overlooked. This is not the kind of service my Kelsey Seybold office provides which is why I don’t like going anywhere but to my regular Dr.

DO NOT go to this location. I was advised to go to the emergency room and then Kelsey Seybold couldn’t be bothered to see me for a follow up until 5 days later. When I arrived for my appointment they told me I did not have one… This same thing happened to my boyfriend. Unreliable and frustrating. We will both be locating a new Dr.

This location has several doctors and plenty of parking spaces. The last time I was here was when the location was still fairly new. I usually do not get sick, but I was having pain in my neck near my left carotid, and I wanted to get it checked out just in case. I have a family history of Hodgkin’s lymphoma. By the time I got to see a doctor, the pain went away. The pain lasted almost a week, though. I got a little lost trying to find out where the actual office was, so I tried looking at the directory. It wasn’t very helpful, but two policemen who were passing through asked me if they could help me find a doctor. I told them yes, but I didn’t know how to pronounce the name. Haha. They asked me if it was family medicine or internal medicine, and from there, they were able to direct me. That was very nice of them! I guess they patrol that area, so they’re familiar with the layout. When I got up to the floor I needed, the registration lady who checked me in was very nice. They called my name not too long after that, but the doctor was backed up seeing patients, so I didn’t see her till about 40 mins. later. While I was waiting, the medical assistant took my vital signs and signed me up for MyKelsey online. It was helpful because I got to get my test results and see my medical records on there. Dr. Adu-​Gyamfi listened to my concerns and listened to my neck with her stethoscope and checked to make sure that it wasn’t allergies. I still don’t know why I only had pain on the left side of my neck in that specific spot, but I was glad for the check-​up.
While I was there, I also requested blood work I needed for school because they wanted us to get a Varicella titer before I started field work. LabCorp does the blood draws for them on the first floor, when you walk in the main doors on the left. They saw me right away. The lady who drew my blood was the best I’ve had. She found my vein quickly. I was on Accutane last year and went to a LabCorp in The Woodlands area. I was required to have blood draws every month. I always came out with bruises. I requested for her to not press down on the cotton ball while she pulls the needle out because the skin rubs on the needle, which causes bruising. She told me I must’ve had a bad experience. Anyway, she honored that. When she was done, I barely saw the spot where she inserted the needle. I also didn’t have any bruising. If I ever need blood draws, I will go to this location.

I was on the surgery table and prepped for skin lesion surgery this morning and the machine used in conjunction with the cauterization process was not working and the in house personnel nor the surgeon Dr. J. Nelson knew how to fix it and consequently in disgust I had to get up off the surgery table and go home. I’ve never before experienced such an inept group of medical personnel before in my dealings with the profession than those at Kelsey-​Seybold Spring Medical and Diagnostic Center.

Moved to Texas and I took my daughter here to get a check up and shots. She never could get her shots, because her doctor said they can’t order medicine for shots Medicaid sends it to them, I was told to come again in a week to see if the medicine was available we came in and no medicine. We came here a total of 6 times in 2 months just hoping they will have medicine for shots. Also her doctor never was in when we first got here so we had to wait. She never got her check up shots here. I changed her doctor and went to a children’s hospital and guess what medicine for the shots was there.

I can’t comment on Dr. Stephen Thomas because we never got to see him but I’ve detailed my experience leading up to the «Doctor’s visit that never was.»
I called around the beginning of August to make appointments for me and my husband to have a routine wellness exam. I spent close to half an hour on the phone making the appointments because my 9 month old also had a doctor’s appointment that same afternoon and I wanted to make sure there was plenty of time between each appointment.
I explained to the woman that I had taken off work the day of the appointment so I could make sure everyone got to the doctor on time. Since both my husband and I were having wellness exams, I was told (by the woman that made the appointment) that we needed to have blood work done and we could visit the lab any time before our appointments so the doctor would have our results at the time of the exam.
So, the Saturday before our appointment my husband and I got up, dragged our 9 month old out of bed and went to the lab first thing that morning. When we got there, we couldn’t be seen because there was no order for blood work in the system (pointless visit #1). I explained to the woman at the registration desk that the woman that made the appointment said we could come in any time before our visit with the doctor. She replied «I don’t know why she told you that because you all are new patients and you have to see the doctor before he’ll order the blood work.» She went on to say it wasn’t a big deal and that we could have the labs done after we saw the doctor. FINE.
On the day of the appointment we showed up at 11 o’clock that morning for my husband’s 11:30 appointment. We when tried to check-​in at the registration desk, we were told that I made his appointment for 1:30 and not 11:30. I explained that was impossible because our son had an appointment at 1:30 and there was NO WAY I would have made his appointment for the same time as the baby’s appointment. I also explained that I had taken off work that day and asked if they could work him in to see Dr. Thomas or get him in to see another doctor. The lady at the registration desk told me all of the doctors were booked because it was back to school time to which I replied, «I know, that’s why I made the appointment two weeks ago.» She said there was nothing she could do and that she wasn’t the one who made the appointment. By that time, I was extremely upset, the baby was restless and my husband was starving (due to the «nothing by mouth after midnight» blood work requirement).
Since I wasn’t getting anywhere with her, I asked for the name of the person who made the appointment and her supervisor’s name and number. She told me she didn’t know who the supervisor was and I had to explain to her everyone reports to someone and to just give me the number and I would find out who the supervisor was on my own. She gave me the number and we left (pointless visit #2).
I called and spoke to the supervisor at the call center and he was actually very apologetic (the women at the clinic could not have cared less since they «had nothing to do with making the appointment.») The supervisor asked if we wanted to visit another Kelsey-​Seybold in a different part of town but at that point, I was fed up and would not have gone to another Kelsey-​Seybold ANYWHERE unless my life depended on it. I have no confidence in Kelsey-Seybold’s ability to manage my family’s wellness needs if they can’t manage to make a simple appointment.
Thanks but no thanks.

I have been a happy customer of Kelsey Seybold Clinics for over three and a half years. I have never had a problem with anybody there, the doctors and staff have been very kind and caring. That all changed when I visited the Kelsey Seybold Clinic in Spring on Wednesday July 9, 2014 at approximately 1:30pm. The receptionist that checked me in was great, very friendly and caring. The assistant that directed me to the exam room was also very good; she was friendly, professional and showed concern towards my health issue.

The nightmare started when Dr. Harriet N Hilliard walked into the exam room. As soon as Dr. Hilliard walked into the exam room she appeared to be angry. Dr. Hilliard was not friendly, she was rude, she seemed to hate her job and hate the fact that she was even at work. As I was trying to explain my medical issues to Dr. Hilliard, she kept interrupting me saying «that’s too much information» «I didn’t ask you that did I?» «why are you telling me all this information that I don’t need, get to the point which is recently.» I felt as if I was being interrogated by the police the way Dr. Hilliard was treating me and talking to me. Dr. Hilliard never smiled; she was extremely sarcastic in a hateful way. It was clear that Dr. Hilliard did not care about me or my health, she is there just to get a paycheck.

After attempting to explain my health issue to Dr. Hilliard about my random ongoing nose bleeds she advised me that it was nothing and that I should just lubricate my nostrils. I have had these nose bleeds for over twenty years, I finally get the courage to see the doctor and this is what she tells me? No wonder I never went to the doctor for this in the past. After pressuring Dr. Hilliard to please look more into my health issue she became extremely angry with me and started giving me a lesson how she was a doctor and she knew everything and I was not a doctor and I knew nothing. That made me feel very small and dumb. I finally was able to convince her to prescribe me some medication for the nose bleed and to have some blood work done. I felt like I was my own doctor. Dr. Hilliard did not want to look into my health problem; she just wanted me out of the exam room as soon as possible.

I also mentioned to Dr. Hilliard a shoulder pain that I have been having for over two months. To my surprise, Dr. Hilliard just told me to wait it out and come back if the pain is still there in another month. I was shocked to hear this. I knew she didn’t care about me or my health, but she really showed her selfish character when she tried to literally kick me out without looking further into my shoulder pain. Again, I tried very hard to convince Dr. Hilliard to look into my shoulder pain. Dr. Hilliard once again became very hostile and agitated with me. She clearly expressed her dreadful feelings by raising her voice at me and making weird head gestures as she almost screamed at me. Finally I convinced Dr. Hilliard to send me to get X-​Rays done on the shoulder. Even though I advised Dr. Hilliard that my shoulder was in a lot of pain, she did not prescribe any medication for the pain or for the swelling.

Dr. Hilliard is a very bad representation of Kelsey-​Seybold. Kelsey is known to have individuals who are caring and provide the best service. I paid, with my hard earned money, for horrible service. I will never ever use Dr. Hilliard again. I am considering changing clinics as well.

So I just got my X-​Ray results… I have arthritis on my shoulder. Good thing I «Begged» Dr. Hilliard to order me some X-​Rays when she refused… She told me to «wait the pain out.» The arthritis might have been more severe if I had waited like she said. I agree with other reviews about kelsey being like a coffee shop, they just want you in and out quick! They don’t care about you or your health. There are much better clinics out there where you can spend your hard earned money than this place. I’m currently looking for a specialist to look further into my shoulder arthritis, there is no way I’m letting Kelsey-​Seybold handle my health issues again!

The people of Kelsey-​Seybold completely make this clinic. Wonderful people. Seamless operation.
If I could improve one thing. It would be their website.
. Almost a total waste of time. Poor design. I spend more time trying to figure out the site and how to make an appointment.
It’s much faster to call for an appointment or call to talk to the nurse. Which brings me back to praising the staff! Thank goodness for all you wonderful doctors, nurses and careful receptionists who handle billing.
I love it when people know what they’re doing!

I see Dr. Bell in this office. Everyone from the front desk staff, to the nurse, to Dr. Bell are always exceptionally nice and helpful.
I’m kind of a needle phobic (think very large man curling into fetal position and crying) but anytime I’ve had to have a shot or a blood draw here it has been painless. Don’t get me wrong, I wouldn’t be excited for them (or anyone) to poke me with a needle, but during the times that I’ve had to do it they were by far the best.
The facilities are always clean and there’s tons of other Dr.‘s and specialities in this location for virtually whatever your needs are.
