Luke’s Locker

I live in California and was searching for Nike Metcon sales. Many sites still sold the shoes at full price or were out of my size. Luke’s Locker had the price and size I was looking for! Check out was easy, and the product came quickly. What was really nice was opening my package and finding a handwritten card thanking me for my purchase and wishing me «happy lifting!» Not too many businesses would do something like that anymore. If I am ever in Houston I will make sure to stop in and shop! I highly recommend them.

Stopped in today for some socks for my little brother. Ended walking out with 3 pair of Balga socks. THE BEST BRAND AROUND. Also ended up buying a pair of Brooks Dryad 8. A HUGE thank you to Christina Rodriguez in the shoe department for taking the time to help me. I feel that she took to help me. I can be a somewhat demanding consumer. I normally wear the brooks adrenaline gts shoes. Christina took the time to refit me in the correct pair based on what problems I was describing I was having. DEFINITELY ask for Christina if you go into Lukes. I especially like the fact that she took the time to put her business card in with my shoes when she took them up front for me.

I’ve been going to Luke’s for years for shoes, but I’ve had it with those guys. I’ll be taking my business elsewhere. Their customer service is horrible, the prices are high, and the return policy is rigid. Good luck trying to return anything. I’ll go with Finish Strong or Fleet Feet from now on, even though it’s farther for me to drive. Even Amazon is better than these guys; at least you can return shoes that don’t quite fit right when you get home.

Please, do not let these prices scare you away– they stand by the products they sell. About 6 months ago I bought a sports bra here that was about $ 80.00. Having a larger chest the only option for me to do high impact sports is to splurge on my bras. I came back in today because the bra that I bought (within 2 weeks of having it but I never had time to bring it back in) broke out of the underwire case, therefor I have been using a taped up $ 80.00 bra for months. I decided to buy a new sports bra so I brought my old one in to show them what I did not want. The women who helped me (I think Lucero? She has purple hair and was such a joy) offered to replace my old bra (after 6 months!!) because there was no way to fix it and it was a manufacturer defect. She spent about 30 minutes fitting me and having me try on bras and helping me pick out another new sports bra. I ended up buying another and now have two functioning sports bras as of today! I was hesitant to shop here again after having one break on me but the kind of customer service and unparalleled individual attention and care I got today made me feel fantastic about spending the extra money to shop here and have a product this store stands by. I won’t go anywhere else.

This is my boyfriend’s favorite shoe store. I bought my boyfriend a limited edition Asics Metarun Shoes first thing they opened on black friday. Go find Christina! She is so awesome, sweet, and knowledgable about shoes. Since my boyfriend is a marathon runner. And he has been talking about Metarun since it came out. And been disappointed to find out it was sold out online. I went in to buy the shoe for him. Since I’m not a runner Christina explained the shoe to me. It’s got carbon fibre inside for support. Shoe is very cushiony and very light. But shoe was very expensive. But I was told there are only 9 pairs available in the store. I had to get it! My boyfriend loves it!

I love Luke’s Locker! It is seriously the best business in Houston for all your running necessities. The employees are very friendly and extremely knowledgeable. I recently came here to buy new running shoes and the employee that helped me was so patient with helping me pick out new shoes. He watched my gait and made several recommendations on shoes, bringing out 5 or 6 different pairs for me to try on and get a feel for running in them. Luke’s Locker also hosts several running club activities throughout the week for free and hosts the Houston Half Marathon each year!

Luke’s Locker is truly the place to go if you are looking for sneakers.
The staff takes a long time working with you on what you are looking for, what you are going to use them for, & what your price range is (dang sneaks are expensive!).
Once they’ve got all of your info they bring you a selection of shoes. It is a process very similar to the eye doctor with the whole which is better, A or B. As you try on the shoes the sales person evaluates your gait and the fit. Working with you to make sure you leave with just the right pair.
I’ve bought sneakers lots of times in my life and have never left with a pair that fit as perfectly as when I stepped out of Luke’s Locker.

Great service, super helpful and friendly. Just by analyzing my gait, they fit me in by far the best running shoes I have ever run in, and I’ve been running for decades!
The sales associates are running EXPERTS and I am forever a loyal customer.

For a while I’ve been wearing the same old shoes for the past who knows how many years. And I thought to myself, I really need a new pair of training and running shoes.
I usually head to Famous Footwear or Foot locker or any other athletic shoe store, but I guess this time I really wanted help from someone who was knowledgeable. I was willing to spend money on new shoes. Plus, I’ll most likely be wearing them a lot when going to the gym and working at the hospital.
First of all, service is fantastic. I was immediately greeted and helped. Sam aka Sam-​I-​Am helped me. He was INCREDIBLY awesome. He answered all my questions, made sure I got the right shoe, helped me fit into my shoe and gave me options. He was really patient with me and listened to my needs in the right shoe. He gave me tips on how to tie the shoe in a way it won’t feel as loose.
I got two pairs of shoes, a running and training. I do both cardio and weight lifting or stationary workouts so I was willing to spend money on shoes. Yeah sure, they’re pricey but in the long run, I think it’s worth it.
Sure, you can definitely find the EXACT same shoe online or at another store for a much much cheaper price but would you spend all that time with the salesperson to end up empty handed? Some would. But as for myself, I appreciated the help. I’d admit being clueless going to another place. And I needed new shoes now.
For what it’s worth, I’m happy I stopped by.

No service – stopped in after a workout on this past Friday around 12pm. Funny no welcome coming in… plenty of assistants, many who seemed to be helping other customers, but there were some deep in there own conversation. I walked through the whole store without one person asking me if i needed assistance, its not a big store, but i spent a good 10 – 15 minutes wandering. Also when leaving i was hoping the lady at the desk would say something… but no nothing. Would have given just one star, but maybe they were just too busy and those convos that some of the sales ppl were talking about was actually work related. All laughing it didn’t seem that way, but i could be wrong. I have always heard such good things about this place, sad that I’m writing a bad review on it.

Really friendly store. They have all types of shoes for all types of sports/​activities, and clothing. I needed running shoes, and I’m a beginner. The seasoned runner/​sales guy watched me run up and down in a few different shoes, so we could find the right fit. I had my toddler with me, and they had a bucket of toys to keep her busy… Cute touch!
He was great, and informative. I found a nice pair of new balance, and some super comfy socks to go with it. When it’s time for a new pair, I’ll be back.

Jorge, the manager, was so patient, knowledgeable and fantastic! I had been to several places and tried many shoes. Finally, I found Jorge and he put me in just the right shoe. I have orthotics, bone spurs, etc… problem feet. My feet are so happy that now I am going to get some of their compression socks and work out clothes. I will be buying more shoes from him.
Also, I read where they have female specialists in finding the right bra and fit.
I also love their vast selection and wide range of sizes available.
I love the long path to walk/​run on to test the shoes.

I’ve come in here several times in the past, I’m not really big into running which is the main focus of this store but they do sell Crossfit shoes and since I live down the street it’s the perfect place to come in and try them on!

I had problem in my knees when running. Staff tried to find the best shoes for me.
She was so knowledgeable that could quickly find a couple of options, then i got it. Cool.

I drove all the way from the other side of Houston to get to this Luke’s Locker only because it was recommended by my Ironman coach.
I’ve never been inside a Luke’s Locker before, I was really impressed by the size of the building. As soon as you enter, the path you step on is a long runway for all the athletes (YOU) to test out their potential new pairs of kicks. The runway is pretty deep and ends in the very back of the store, perfect for a trial jog.
The store did appear to be pretty busy. I was put on a waiting list to have the next available ‘Footwear Specialist’ help me out. The wait wasn’t too long.
I was sitting down on one of their many couches in the back and I was greeted by Christina.
Christina was excellent! She took the time to listen to all my concerns and issues I was experiencing with my current running shoes. I was using Newton shoes at first for my runs but after running a few longer distances my legs really felt worn out, shin splints too. After receiving some advice from Christina, she brought out multiple pairs of shoes for me to try on. All the shoes she brought out offered a larger amount of support than the current shoe I had. She brought out multiple brands: Nike, Adidas, and Brooks.
After trying all the pairs of shoes on and taking them for a quick jog down the runway, I decided to stick with the Brooks ‘Ghost’. They felt the most comfortable of all the shoes I tried on.
Christina went over socks I could choose from (only because I asked about socks) that may help keep my feet dry better. She gave me good tips on the different materials to look out for when shopping for new socks.
I decided to wait on the socks for the moment and proceeded to check out. I asked if there were any available discounts to USA Triathlon Members and I was happy to hear that there was, present your membership card and you’ll receive a 10% discount off your total purchase. So glad I asked! Haha.
The experience at Luke’s Locker at West Gray was fantastic! I will definitely be returning, and I highly recommend Christina! She was amazing.

OMG… for YEARS I have known of this place but never went.
I decided I needed new sneakers and we went one Saturday. What service. Way pricey. These days now that I have a bone spur between my toes, comfort is paramount. Worth the price.

Great store to buy your running shoes at however not a good store for purchasing your fitness clothing at.
Anthony was very through to find my perfect pair of running shoes to help with my knee problems and he didn’t stop until I found the pair.
Daniel and Sarah however were not very helpful in the woman’s department. I started with Daniel who asked for my size and pulled 10 pairs of running pants for me to try on. They were all in the same size and style no variations. At the end of Daniel’s shift she promptly brought Sarah over who handed me a couple different pairs of pants to try then went to hang out with her coworkers without even coming to checking on me to offer different sizes or opinions. I gave up and left with only shoes and socks.
So good shoes poor clothes.

Luke’s Locker has knowledgeable employees, and the customer service is generally great. I come in here with a bunch of questions and a bunch of shoes that I want to try on. I attempt to get in and out within 20 minutes, but let’s be real, though: shoe shopping, especially for running shoes, requires more time, and I feel bad when «oh, this will be quick!» turns into «can I try the first pair ONE more time???»
Fortunately, the employees are pretty patient with me, and their advice is solid, especially since I’m not a ~running expert~; I just happen to like to run. Sometimes, though, I feel like I’m not getting the best service, as if the employees seem uninterested in me unless I ask lots of questions. I’ve been here twice, and each time feels the same way, but I keep coming back because of how patient they are with me.
My 1^st purchase here was the Brooks Pure Flow 2, which were a Christmas present, so I don’t really recall the price; my 2^nd was the Saucony Kinvara 5. The Kinvaras went for MSRP ($ 100; no markup!), but they’re a little cheaper on Amazon ($ 90) — the customer service here is so good, though, which is why I like and buy my running shoes from here.
Little plug… if you come here to try on a bunch of different shoes and spend time at the store, have the decency to actually buy the pair you like instead of going to another retailer (big box, Amazon, etc) to buy them.

My favorite tennis shoe store in Houston! I love how all the staff are very friendly and try and recommend the best shoe. The selection of brands is great as well! Love the location

I like Luke’s Locker but I hate Luke’s Locker’s prices!
It’s not because they’re expensive, but it’s because they’re selling everything at the full retail prices. In these days and age where one can always find lower prices online with additional discount with coupons and free shipping with no sales tax added, I find it really hard to go to Luke’s Locker to shop for anything unless they’re having a sale or if I need something immediately.
What I can say is the people here know what they’re doing. Before Luke’s Locker I would buy any running shoes that I liked and as a result, my feet were always hurting when I ran. Luke’s Locker and its staff helped me find the right type of running shoes I need. They have all kinds of work out clothes, shoes, accessories, and even some supplements. They have very friendly staff. They have a huge store. I cant complain about them not having something in stock, or about them treating me bad.
What I will complain about is their discount policy and how they round up their discount prices. For example; the last time I came in here to pick up my Rodeo Run race packet, they were offering additional 20% discount on sale items. So I bought this Nike T-​shirt for $ 14.00. Well, 20% $ 14.00 is $ 2.80 which means my final price should be $ 11.20, right? WRONG! My final price was $ 12.00. According to one of the staff, the company has a list of what the final prices would be, and EVERYTHING was being rounded UP to the nearest dollar. This means my discount was only 14% instead of 20%. WHAT IS UP WITH THAT?! He was like, «we’ll give you the extra $ 0.80 if you really want it.» Even though he was smiling when he said it, it sounded a little condescending to me. Come on! It’s not the $ 0.80 that I care about. It’s the principle of it. Why offer 20% off if you’re not really going to offer 20%?
Enough rambling. I dislike the prices. I dislike the company policy. I definitely dislike the store hours because they close early. I like the selections. I like the return policy. I like the friendliness of the staff. But I cant see myself shopping here too often.
