We had the job done in the Houston, TX area. It was very good prompt and fast service, good action orientated guy. He removed 5 dead branches, 3 from our oak for $ 400. I think 2 were from a lower magnolia tree. I saw him after I walked the dog and he was around for about 45 minutes to an hour in that time frame– I did not see him before that point and there is a window by where I was facing where he was working. He said he came by 2 ½ hours earlier and then he had to leave to perform the 4th or 4 jobs for the day. I know an accountant in private business who gets $ 300 or so an hour and that is considered very high but I guess whether or not $ 400 is a fair price is apple and oranges– liability and so on. Another firm bid around $ 600 for the same job and they worked on the Neighbor’s tree. M. Rosales charged between $ 500-$ 600 to remove an aspen ash and that took a large chunk of the afternoon to complete or about 4 or 5 hours with additional workers and mulching service included for not extra cost. $ 400 seems high to me but he did do good work. i would guess $ 100-!50 is good for an essentially one person job maybe no more than $ 200 for the job but I’m not an expert on the tree business.
