History

Established in 1975.

McDugald-​Steele began in a small house in a Houston neighborhood in 1975 under the leadership of the late Doug McDugald, a native Houstonian and cousin of philanthropist Ima Hogg. Doug parlayed family ties, friendships and acquaintances into clientele that included many of Houston’s most prominent citizens.

The firm has grown from a small partnership to a thriving business with more than 100 landscape professionals, offices in Houston and projects throughout Texas and the Southwestern U. S
