MD Anderson Cancer Center

Though I am a physician, I have no expertise in oncology and cannot truly judge if their alleged «expertise» is deserved. However, I do not doubt that they have a good level of expertise, and obviously they have an extensive patient base as well as being involved in numerous research protocols. I judge my personal physician there to be good but not exceptional.
However, their «customer service» is egregious — on a good day. They can promote their «top ranking in the United States» all day long. Particularly if you’re on endless telephone hold — since they perpetually are experiencing «an unusually high call volume.» During your extensive hold period they invite you to leave a voice message or leave one on their website. It has absolutely not been my experience that they call back. Also, with 20,000 employees, and patients and families dealing with all levels of cancer, do you find it as surprising as I do that if you call from noon till one, customer service (which includes any general questions, billing, and virtually all other substantive, non-​medical questions) is closed??? Even in my single MD practice, if you called during «lunch time» — which was far more theoretical than real — it was NOT OK to let the phone go unanswered! That’s not only poor service to patients (customers), to me, it is disrespectful and says «I don’t give a s…» If indeed they do provide superior medical care, this in no way excuses the egregious customer service.

Here is the extra stars I feel you guys deserve ********* Why MD Anderson would receive anything less than a 5 star is beyond me. Here is our story:
In mid May my mom was diagnosed with stage 4 colorectal… 2 weeks later stomach cancer at (unnamed hospital) she was at had no idea they were just shooting from the hip. I contacted Velma with colorectal (who worked with our case was amazing!) the Drs at the (unnamed hospital) misdiagnosed my mother which caused MD Anderson to hold my mothers profile for 1 ½ weeks due to (unnamed hospital)! My mother was told she only had 1 maybe 2 weeks to live IF AHE WAS LUCKY… June 8, 2016 she was informed she needed to go on Hospice and go home to pass away… June 9, 2016 we rushed her to MD Anderson ER. On June 10, 2016 they started pumping out fluid from her stomach which is what Dr. Fogelman said would have killed her not the tumor itself. On June 13, 2016 Dr. Lynch placed a stent where the tumor is located and my mom for the first time in 3 weeks has not vomited!!! June 15, 2016 (my 29^th birthday) I thought I would be at my mothers funeral but instead I was with her in the room celebrating my birthday thanks to MD Anderson saving her life!!! When everyone else closed the doors on her and told her to go home and pass away, MD Anderson defied the odds and accepted her with open arms! I am grateful for MD Anderson and why they would receive less than a 5 star is hard to understand. THANK YOU MD ANDERSON, that’s why in the photos the lettering does not say «happy birthday» but «thank you MD Anderson» because I OWE THIS BIRTHDAY TO YOU!!!

Surgical staff and team: Excellent
Business staff: Terrible. We arrived for a 1 year surgical follow up (flew across the country) to find out that our account had a block on it because our out of network authorization had expired 3 months ago. No one advised us of this when the appointment was booked and when I asked why, Yolanda from the business office said «I don’t know».
I would’ve happily resolved this months ago when the appointment was booked, if I had known. Instead, we sat waiting for 2 hours, only to be told that we’d need to pay 100% out of pocket if we wanted the follow up. So, of course we did – not much choice there. The insurance authorization will arrive within the next 24 hours per the insurance company, but MDA won’t accept that and won’t cancel the charge if it arrives while we’re here (?!?). Now we’re about to miss our flight, but that doesn’t seem to matter either.
Overall, it feels like money is more important than care here. But the care has been good (with the exception of xray, who took 17 images for 4 needed X-​rays), so I guess they feel they can do whatever they want.
Very disappointed.

the best! They kept my hubby going healthy and happy for over twenty five years with leukemia. THEY ROCK and so do their support services! They billing is a little wonky, but in the end, it all worked out fine!
I can’t help but think, they saved his life OVER AND OVER OVER OVER OVER! Five cutting edge chemos and now we are coming in for number six? Couldn’t trust anyone more!

MD Andersen did nothing to help my sister. Huge cattle drive, drains the insurance all about the diagnostics to make money. Delayed actual medical care until she was at stage four. MD Andersen wasted precision time that cost her life.
Nurses were rude, uncaring and made a horrible situation worse.
If you want your family member or friend to live don’t seek treatment at MD Andersen. My sister died after they wasted 3 months doing tests with no treatment. They made $ 250,000 and she died.

I came here knowing this is the place to come if you have cancer or something of that nature, for a family member of mine.
I thought about writing a review of this place a long time now. Who writes about a cancer hospital and rates them? Anyways, I don’t think they would even care about my opinion of md Anderson if they saw what I wrote.
Nevertheless, the good people of md Anderson took care of my family member there. I want to give a shout out to the antheslogist and the Crna“s there for caring and doing a great job. One person in general a manager in the Crna department gave me updates on my family member through out the day though she was busy. You can tell she has a kind soul and is a very caring person who genuinely cares about people. Thank you to this manager in the Crna department of md Anderson. Your kindness is forever remembered.

They saved my life, that is the only good thing. Everything else is not good. Shoved me in an mri head brace right after brain surgery. We schedule my yearly mri’s a year out. Every year they change it 2 – 3 weeks out! Well this time we already made vacation plans. I hope to get everything done in Wichita from now on.
I just updated my review, changed it to 1 star. We have been trying to fix the scheduling issues with them. We have called so many different people there and no one will call us back. This place is terrible.
And now I bet they will reach out to me again and try to fix the issue. If the only time something gets resolved is when someone writes a review, what does that say about your company???

I had been recently diagnosed with a rare aggressive tumor on my left hand. First thought to be cancerous, and then questionable. My family physician sent me to MD Anderson. When I arrived at the Melanoma clinic I was met by the nicest staff ever who guided me through registration which fortunately I had completed online via their website (which is fantastic!) I met Dr. Merrick Ross who was just the nicest doctor, very concerning and personable who explained the surgery needed to completely remove this growth. Had the surgery April 27^th and a followup on May 4^th when Dr Ross informed me that I was all clear! I now have feeling back in my hand and am on the road to recovery! If you have been diagnosed with any form of tumor or cancer, don’t hesitate to let your Physician know that this is the place you want to go!

I see a lot of negative reviews on here. I must say I am an extremely patient person and an extremely positive person. I look at life a lot different than most people. I smile and am chirpy even though I have an incurable cancer. I see sad faces everyday at MD Anderson. A kind word. Encouragement. Strength. It helps oneself and helps the ones who care for you in this unimaginable time in ones life.
MD Anderson is an exceptional insitution. I should know I am a patient there.
When I first found out I had cancer I went to an Oncologist that my primary care physician office had referred me to. I had to run all over town to different locations of their network and then some out if their network not covered by my insurance. You wait there too. Patience is a virtue you need to possess with cancer.
So I called MD Anderson and had an appointment in a week. They took care of everything. Appointments, labs, all my doctors. I have a care team of four oncologists. Everything. So easy. You just show up for your appointments You have to wait a long time sometimes but it is worth the wait. They take care of so many. They take there time with each patient.
I understand stand some of the people’s frustration on here about clinical trials and all. I to was suppose to be on a great clinical trial but my cancer was not responding to my chemo and was more aggressive.
They acted quickly and have gotten me now going into the hospital for my stem cell transplant.
Sometimes things turn out to be worse than they are. As for them not telling about you dieing. If they tell you it is bad accept that. MiracIes do happen. l almost died 5 times from sepsis two years ago in another hospital from another illness and I am still here. I heard Code Blue called on myself. Miracles do happen I am one of them.

I’ve been on hold for 20 minutes both times I’ve attempted to call to make my husband and appointment… No one Answers!!!

I understand the grievances and frustrations that familes and friends have to go through when their is a lost. It is easy to channel these feelings toward an individual, a process because that is the easiest way to cope. instead of admitting that we have lost to cancer… this sucks, to eveyone-​the family, friends, doctors and nurses… but Honestly this is normal.
MD Anderson is a great place to be if you need medical treatment. The doctors, pharmacists, nurses, and supporting staff are in synchronization.
This is one of the 3 oldest, yet advance and frontier treament center for cancers. Trust me, You are in Good Hands.

I visited this location last July for diagnostics. I never received my results via email, mail or their online tool. I have emailed 4 times asking for my results including filling out the form required and I’ve called several times. Every time I call they tell me they will send me my results within 48 hours. It’s mid April and I have no results. Terrible customer service.

Everyone I encountered here was very nice and took my symptoms seriously. All of the doctors come across as very competent in their field. MD Anderson also has so many wonderful resources for patients and families. I got great use out of all the pamphlets and books with information on my condition at the Learning Center. They also have a variety of gift shops and places to eat. Another great thing is all the support resources they offer. MD Anderson also has an integrative medicine program– they really treat the entire person, not just the tumor or the cancer.

I am absolutely devastated. My 39 year old son has a very rare form of thyroid cancer called MTC. He lives in northern CA where he has undergone treatment since his diagnosis back on Oct 1^st. For the past two months he has been in the hospital, the effects of radiation on his clavicle area. He has a feeding tube and has had aspiration pnuemonia twice in that time. Although his doctors seem pleasant enough his father and I are not so sure they are well versed in their fields. Their seems to be a poor lack of communication and the same things being tried over and over again with the same results or should I say. No results. We had always heard about MDA and how their staff was always on the cutting edge. Basically if they couldn’t help you, nobody could. My son talked to his oncologist in the small CA town in which he lives. He told him he would like to go to MDA and all of his X-​rays, tests and records were forwarded for evaluation. The next step was how to get him there and how would his transfer be paid for. My husband approached his boss and explained the situation. His boss immediately offered to pay for Angel flight. Everything seemed to be falling into place. For the first time we were all optimistic; my son might just get a second chance at life after all. His wife and 2 small children along with his Father and I anxiously awaited further instructions. Then his oncologist said MDA will not accept him because they feel that there is nothing they can do for him that his doctors in CA couldn’t do. Isn’t that what a second opinion is for? Also… His oncologist has never treated MTC before. There is an oncologist at MDA who is well versed in his rare type of cancer. This is our last hope for prolonging his life. He has two children one of which is his 4 year old autistic son who only responds to his Daddy. MDA has let down all of us. You were our only hope.

If you have cancer, this is THE place to go. My wife has a very rare form of cancer and we heard enough positive about Anderson that we flew here from California to get the surgery and will be coming back to get radiation.
So far, everyone from the medical staff to the clerical personnel to the volunteers have been fantastic, cheerful, and communicative. We had met with a social worker to discuss how to talk about cancer with our 5^th grader. The social worker helped us with that and then took extra time, staying after her shift was over, to be sure that we had a good handle on options for places to stay when we come back for radiation.
The campus is set up to provide a relaxed, supportive environment for both the patient and the patient’s family. There are tons of outlets to charge cell phones, free books to read while on campus, free computers with printing, and quality free wi-​fi. I have as yet to find a wi-​fi dead spot on campus. The campus is like a micro-​city where you can do your laundry and get a hair cut. The family support center even has a quiet room where you can go to take a nap!
The only downside I can see is that they are so fantastic that they have a ton of patients leading to long wait times for appointments. This is partly because they don’t rush you out of the room so they can see the next person. They make sure that you are comfortable and completely informed. Everyone works as a team so you will likely see multiple doctors on the same day and they understand that you may not get to your next appointment on time. This ensures continuity of care but means that you spend the entire day going from waiting room to waiting room.
If you are going to be on campus for more than 3 – 4 hours, spring for the valet parking. A full day is $ 12 to self park and valet is $ 15. For $ 3 more, you don’t have to make the long trek to the 12 story parking garage and drive around and around and around to get out.

Unfortunately I need to revise my review of MD Anderson should other Cancer patients need immediate or prolonged care and are considering coming here. If you read mY previous review which was 5 stars the getting ready, arrival and planning by the MD Anderson Center is excellent in getting you «situated» in the new environment in Texas. It’s when the «treatment» the reason for being there starts you are going to be 100% a «NUMBER». To start my sister had a very rare form of Breast Cancer «Triple Negative”-along with other forms which account for less than 1% of all breast cancer cases. She agreed to participate in a trial for this very rare form of cancer and was scheduled to receive several infusions over a period of 6 weeks. She had a persistent cough at the beginning of her treatment which was a concern from the beginning as this cancer often spreads to the lungs. There were two occasions that she had to go into the MD hospital due to breathing and coughing issues and was told she just had pneumonia both times while some additional tests were run. She was monitored weekly while staying at a local hotel in the area. Ten days ago we were told the trial needed to be stopped as there was nothing left that could be done as the cancer was in her lungs, bone and breast.
While we all know cancer in very unpredictable and this very rare form is very aggressive and hard to treat. The point of this updated review is not a knock on MD Anderson. I wanted to help others who need Cancer treatment and while the doctors are some of the best in the world, there is «ZERO» hands on care you are a «NUMBER».it’s very annoying and for the cost of the treatment honestly not worth it!!!
My sister passed away this last Saturday and was only in hospice here in San Diego for one day. Just as an example just two days before they decided to stop the trail we got a call from Dr. Janku saying «I THINK WE ARE MAKING PROGRESS», he exspected to see regression on the next set of scans set for the 12^th of November. Humm. then two days later you call and say trial is off… BUDDY you need to take in less patients, dedicate more time to the PATIENTS in your care and less time to your NUMBERS and STUDY…
Save yourself the headache and aggrivation there are alot of Cancer Centers in the U. S do yourself a favor and avoid this one.

I made an appointment and called and asked if they for sure received my bone marrow biopsy, PET scan, C/​T, lymph biopsy, etc. She said yes. I drove 4 hours from Austin to see the oncologist. He doesn’t have anything. Was a pointless trip. He gives me forms that I have to fax to each place to get the info to him. Why am I doing this? Dr. Vose at University of Nebraska did it for me and got it right the first time. I call one of the pathologists for their fax number and he says I shouldn’t be doing this and that MD Anderson should be doing this. Furthermore, he won’t give me the information because he says MD Anderson has to do it. I call MD Anderson. They won’t do it. I have to. I figure out what all information I have to do, make it look like it’s coming from MD Anderson, what needs to be on the forms, and send them off. I call on a Thursday and leave a message for my doctor’s nurse asking if they got everything because my follow up appointment is coming and I don’t want to make the 4 hour drive again for naught. No response. I call and leave a message with her again Friday. No response. I call and leave a message with her on Monday. No response. I call and leave a message with her on Tuesday. She calls back. «Sorry, I had to check with the Dr. to see what we had received. He says he doesn’t have everything.» I say, «What is he missing?». She says, «I’d have to check with him and see, what did you request?» Now I am thinking, 1. Why didn’t you return my call and tell me you’re on it but are waiting on him? 2. Why don’t you have access to everything and can manage this on your own? 3. Why the hell am I the one doing all this? Every other god damn oncologist –in state and out of state– I have been to has handled this without me even knowing. She says to send the info over the patient portal and she’ll do it. I try to create it and it won’t take my information saying I have something wrong. There’s only 7 questions and I know I have them all correct. I use Chrome, Explorer, and Safari, on two different computers with no luck. I know how to spell my name; it’s not incorrect, as they say. I call technical support and after 1 hour and 7 minutes on hold I hang up and head to Unilocal to write this review. Why is this so painful? OK, par for the course for Comcast and DirecTV but treating cancer? Don’t they know how I feel and how hard it is to get out of bed let alone this? As for the unfortunate person that is responding to these reviews, just don’t give me some politically correct answer. No answer is much, much better than some boilerplate.

My husband came here for prostrate cancer and I can’t say enough about the level of care and the quality of the staff. Our local urologist had done 200 surgeries and the dr at MDA had done over 2000. They explained options for treatments got test results immediately and knew what they’re doing. The survival stories other patients told us about were amazing. People who should be dead are still living quality lives after treatment here. They have a hotel onsite for patients and family only which is very convenient. If you can get your treatment here, you should. People come from all over the world to take advantage of the care and expertise offered here.

If I have the opportunity to rate this Center with 10 stars I will definitely do it.
The staff members are more than professionals. They are always so happy and positive that makes me (patient) calm and positive too.

Let me start off my saying I have a crazy body and I first started at MDA in 1999. After moving around to numerous doctors, I was finally ‘accepted’ into MDA. I was seeing a DR in the ortho clinic and now I am at the internal medicine clinic. Both doctors have been great – very helpful and I feel like I am actually getting somewhere with my health.
I have only had surgery here but it was very, very organized and the rooms were immaculent and welcoming of my mother and myself.
The parking is fairly close to the main building and Mays, which is super convenient. You can park in valet, but I’m too poor for that unless I’m staying all day.
The main building has Chick Fil A and is only a short distance from Mays, so I usually treat myself to that when I’m there all day.
Lastly, everyone has been super friendly! Being in a wheelchair, it is hard to find someone to reach tall objects or open doors and there is someone always around to help you out.

This place is the number 1 cancer hospital for every reason. They took care of US — both my husband with cancer and me. They took care of everything: appointments, comfortable places to wait (for very short periods of time always), listening, explaining, explaining again, our mental health, oh and they saved my husband’s life. He was diagnoses stage 4 by our hometown doctors. MD Anderson changed that to stage 2 and sent him home cancer free. EVERYONE is kind. If you possibly can, go there as soon as you are diagnosed. Stay at the Rotary International Hotel. If you are reading this, there is a good chance you are in need of comfort and reassurance. I am sending both to you.

If you or your loved one are unfortunate enough to have to deal with Cancer, do not hesitate to make a visit at md Anderson. The entire hospital system at MD Anderson so huge that it is just mind boggling. Staff here are amazing and very compassionate. Doctors here are leaders in their fields. They do clinical trials here that you will not find at other places. Make sure you take advantage of md Anderson’s travel services to get good rates on hotels, flights, and car rentals. Battling cancer is the toughest thing in life but at md Anderson you can have the piece of mind that you will receive the best and most cutting edge care available. Good luck with your battle!

Husband is finishing up successful treatment and we are so glad we were able to come here. I am an RN and know medical bullshit when I hear it. I was totally confident with our docs and other staff.
While he might have been treated and cured elsewhere I doubt anyplace could have made the process so smooth. I give the example of one of our first weeks there. We had 17 appointments in one week. And didn’t have to make one phone call. It’s amazing how the scheduling happened, they fit everything in (a trick with several departments involved) and yet left time for breaks between appointments, which was appreciated.
The one time we had an issue with staff (inpatient) a quality assurance person came to us (without being requested). He really listened, and really did follow up.
There are nice little extra touches that helped a lot. A quiet room for patients and caregivers to get a nap. Different shuttles to help you get around, inside and outside. Truly helpful staff, even in the hallways, who direct you anywhere you need to go. Free valet parking on your first visit and for all radiation treatments. Those things make a difference.
I was struck with the atmosphere. There is no weeping and wailing, no sad, sad people in every corner like one might expect. Every person there is just going about their business. They all either have cancer or are a caregiver. There is no reason to pussyfoot around that, so folks just proceed with doing what they have to do. You’ll see everything from folks that look like they’ve been homeless a long time to people paying for breakfast with $ 100.00 bills. And they all are just working at getting better.
I see some negative reviews here, sometimes mentioning poor outcomes for their loved one. That can happen anywhere. It shouldn’t affect your choice to consider care here, I can’t imagine any place doing a better job.

I had a TERRIBLE experience at MD Anderson. After I was diagnosed with cancer, I drove to MD Anderson from Austin in the hopes of finding the best treatment possible. As a woman alone, I felt totally invalidated, disrespected and disregarded by the extremely rude, callous and dismissive doctor I saw.
I had just been diagnosed with cancer, which is one of the most frightening and distressing experiences one can have in life. The doctor I saw had ZERO compassion and actually rolled his eyes (rolled his eyes!!!) right in front of me when I asked him some questions about treatment. What kind of doctor rolls his eyes at a cancer patient? His tone and attitude was unbelievably rude, condescending, and ill-​mannered throughout the appointment. I couldn’t believe how shabbily I was treated at this «renowned cancer center.» I left, drove back to Austin, and had to seek out treatment elsewhere, which added significantly more stress to my situation. I will never forget how badly I was treated by an MD Anderson specialist during a profoundly vulnerable and traumatic time in my life.

Great day for an awesome cause!!! For the first annual run this was an awesome turnout! Looking forward to next year!

Love this hospital– staff and doctors have been kind, respectful and knowledgeable. We’ve never felt rushed or hassled– everyone takes their time and seems to really care. I’m hopeful they will help my Mom get better. I highly recommend this facility.

My wife has stage 4 cancer. We went to MD Anderson looking for answers and maybe some hope; instead, she was given a death sentence. The doctor who met her was cold and without compassion. Save your time and money… don’t go to MD Anderson. Believe in your will to live and appreciate everyday your above ground. God bless all women w/​little boys and girls at home.

Your best bet if you have Cancer and prefer to go the traditional MD route. They will dole out the poison for your consumption better then anywhere else.
The doctors are great, but some of their reputations far exceed the actual results. I was here for four years with a family member and after seeing what her body went through, all in the name of Science, I will never step foot through MDA’s door again. I’ll go to Mexico and find a Gerson clinic. Good luck to whoever is out there searching for hope.

My husband was diagnosed with cancer 3 years ago now — and we are mid-​metastasis as I write this. So, we have had plenty of encounters with MD Anderson over the years. What I really thought all of the other reviews lacked was a rundown for the people who have never been here before. But I’ll start with my actual review, and move onto the informational portion later.
We came to MD Anderson for a second opinion to our local oncologist’s treatment plan, which was unfortunately a straight look-​up for NIH’s standard method. MD Anderson decided to take on my husband’s case, and we were impressed that they moved quickly, and that the person managing my husband’s case was the chief of surgery for his type of cancer and that all departments worked together to find a good, balanced, safe, and appropriate plan. You can’t ask for better than that. And all of the doctors here are seriously world renowned. Now yes, there was one breast cancer doctor that poisoned her husband in some sort of love triangle but everyone else here are overly qualified. The second impressive instance is that this is a teaching and research hospital and is on the cutting edge of treatment. My husband is in several research trials, and we know that his harvested tumors will participate in research that will not only help save his life, but potentially the lives of innumerable others. Additionally, most of the staff are very dedicated to top quality service — now we’ve had instances with scheduling that have been annoying such as brainless scheduling that conflicts with our timeline staying in Houston as well as lack of communication. The anesthesia assessment department also seems to be having some sort of tiff with all other departments. But other than that, every person we encounter has been smart, and delightful. I’d like to say a special thank you to all of the volunteers both at the hotel and MD Anderson who help with events, the library, or anything else you might need. These people are awesome. The facilities are in constant upgrade and they upkeep everything incredibly well considering how many people flow though here per year and it is nice to see the upgrades. So, four stars. There’s always room for improvement but MD Anderson does awesomely well.
Informational off the top of my head:
1. Try to stay at the Jesse Jones Rotary House — it is connected via skywalk, (floor 2) to MD Anderson, (floor 3). It is a cheaper option in the downtown medical area and you are situated smack dab between the Mays Clinic and the MD Anderson building which is super convenient for appointments. They also have a gift shop, activities and an ok restaurant that also provides room service. Book early, they fill up every night. You will also be able to park in the parking garage connected to it, which is convenient. Remember to keep one of your room keys upon checkout so that you can get out of the garage!
2. Garage 10 is the public garage we usually use when we are not booked at the Rotary House. It has a very convenient connection to the hospital for doctor’s appointments etc. Easiest way to get in and out is the credit card method. Pull up, swipe your credit card, go in, park, and on your way out, swipe your credit card again and it will automatically charge you. I think the tokens are cheaper, but more of a pain.
3. MD Anderson and Mays can be super hard to navigate. All those floors, several banks of elevators, several congregation areas etc. There are plenty of volunteers and people around you that are willing to help if you ask. We always try to help those who look lost. There are also many maps as well as campus police desks and they are always happy to help.
4. If you are sick and tired of the food options in the hospital, don’t despair! There are several options that are nearby if you have a car. You can look these up on Unilocal: Local Foods, Buon Appetito Ristorante Italiano, and Pappas Brothers, (several different types of good food restaurants).
5. Have some time to waste? The Houston Museum of Natural History is literally right around the corner and it has several outstanding exhibits. The art museum is also close, but we don’t like it as much. The zoo is also close. You can also head down to Galveston if you’re feeling alright and you have a day — dip your toes in the ocean and try to relax a bit.
So, that’s all I’ve got for right now but if anything else comes to mind, I will add upon this review. This really is a world class establishment and I completely recommend it for anyone who wants comprehensive, quality care.

The school is really nice. I really did not have any idea that MD Anderson had a school apart of it. I came here with San Jacinto College as a part of to consider the health professions that most people overlook. Usually students only see two medical options: Nursing or Doctors when in reality there is more to it.
For instance, Medical Dosimetry, Clinical Laboratory Science, Radiation Therapy, Diagnostic Imaging and Sonography, Molecular Genetic Technology, Cytotechnology, Cytogenetic Technology, and Histotechnology are the programs that they offer and guess what. this is the only school in the nation that offers a bachelors degree in these specialties. Most colleges have these studies that only offer an associates. Oh and Diagnostics Genetics offer a Master’s degree. which is so cool.
The school is the hospital… lol no the hospital is in the school. Wait, wait, wait. let me get this right. The school is located in a hospital with professional doctors, nurses, and located in the medical center. Wow, I bet studying time is nice. You are centered around important, interesting, and academic things. No distractions really.
I can’t speak about parking, but I bet it isn’t good.

From the valet to the doctor himself. Everyone was caring and helpful! I can see why this is the best Cancer center in the country!

The MDs and staffs are great! I didn’t give it 5 star because the lab wait is 30 minutes. Compare with where I’m from (SF Bay Area standard), it is way too long. Also, I found this tiny hard spiky thing inside my bandage after the blood draw. Hmmm, wonder what it could be…

I have accompanied my mother there on two visits. I am not overly impressed in that their reputation is to be one of the best cancer centers in the world. I know that I only have experienced a small part of the system and they do many great things.
The most recent visit my mother was asked questions by three different people. The first was a pa and there was a communication barrier that was a little frustrating. The second person examined my mother and when her primary doctor examined her she contridicted what the first doctor thought. Not a big confience booster.
It was productive visit in that her primary at md anderson gave the ok to my mothers other doctors in Michigan to perform some procedures that they were hesitant to do without knowing the ramifications.
Sad to say there wasn’t a miracle performed.
