This gallery is a bit off from the other Kirby galleries but totally worth the trip. From the outside you can’t really tell it’s a gallery since it’s surrounded by other beatiful homes. Once inside it feels like a very modern house. The floors are nicely finished wood panels. It’s very clean and spread out with plenty of spacing. There are 2 rooms the main front room and a secondary back room. There is also a garden area but this day it was locked. The curator was awesome, she even made us copies of the price sheets to take home. The best part about this gallery is it allowed me to explore the homes in the area and they are the real pieces of art.

The openings around these parts are usually held in tandem. Most of the shows are right next to each other, but Moody requires a brief walk down Colquitt to get to. Part of the Colquitt, Gallery Row Mafia(yes I made that up) – Moody has always felt like this section’s estranged sibling as it is strangely situated down the street from the other galleries. Don’t be discouraged by the walk though, it’s worth the exercise! The space itself is pretty interesting. It’s always felt like the house in Ferris Bueller’s Day Off where the car goes through the window. Watch the film if you didn’t catch that reference! The building’s uniqueness matches the art that it usually houses. The artwork on the walls or sculpture’s always throw me a curve ball when I go here, which is what I’m usually craving when strolling through galleries. The need to stroll down here pacifies the crowds – so Moody is also an enjoyable outing!
