These guys are awesome! They always get me in when I need something and are entertaining while you wait.

I had a little trouble with my car last week and I was able to call up My Mechanic to get it fixed. Honestly the best customer service, true quality work and just an overall great experience. Pete and Ryan were there to answer all my questions and were very patient with me and thorough in explaining all of my options and Thomas did a great job on the repairs! If you are looking for a reliable and thorough mechanic in the loop, I would highly recommend My Mechanic.

I am so pleased to know that there is a reliable auto shop so close by. I trust my mechanic to take care of my car, provide a great service, and charge a great price.
I expected the prices to be higher based on the area, but I was shocked at how reasonable they were! After getting an estimate, they found out that my vehicle needed extra work but they didn’t charge me for it!
Peter is great, he’s so friendly and down to earth. Everyone I’ve worked with in the office has had a great sense of humor and has been in a great mood. Even when they are busy, they make an effort to make each costumer feel welcome and important. I really felt comfortable trusting my mechanic with my car, and I would highly recommend them to anyone who needs auto work!

Very personable and honest which is rare to find these days. Will definitely be back next time I need any auto services!

Unfriendly staff, expensive as hell, and very unprofessional. I walk in, I can immediately tell that they are going to take advantage of me because of my young age. Dishonest people. Waited more than an hour for what was originally just going to take ~45 minutes.
They also charged my account twice because their system «went down» immediately after I swiped my card and submitted my signature. How convenient. I told them that according to my bank account, the $ 40 had already been charged to my account. They completely ignore it and dismiss me, saying it’s impossible, FORCING me to swipe my card again. Turns out, they DID charge my account twice. Had to call Chase and waste my precious time disputing the charge. DON’T GO HERE!!!

UPDATE: I wish I could downgrade my original rating of 1 star to 0 stars, because My Mechanic does not even deserve the one star. I have since brought my car to another mechanic, K Auto repair. Jimmy at K Auto found a terrible short in the system as well as a cracked radiator that he says have been causing all of the problems that I was trying to get My Mechanic to fix FOR MONTHS. LITERALLY MONTHS. The short was causing a variety of problems, all of which I mentioned to My Mechanic and got responses such as «we can’t find the problem, we checked everything» or «its just a cosmetic issue» (referring to strange noises/​beeps/​loss of radio power) or «its not a big deal, its definitely safe to drive» (referring to my Check Engine light). I would rather drive both myself and my poor car off a cliff before walking back into My Mechanic.

If you bring your car here on an «emergent» basis for an unexpected breakdown which renders your car inoperable, be prepared to have a very drawn out repair process and one in which communication is rather lacking. I think this major downside is due to the fact that they are so busy, which on the one hand is a good thing because it’s an indication that they keep their customers happy and do good work. However, when your car breaks down unexpectedly and absolutely needs to be fixed in order for you to drive it, speed/​efficiency is, in my opinion, a rather important factor, as suddenly being without your mode of usual transportation truly becomes an inconvenience in you day to day life. When I dropped my car off via tow truck on a Friday evening I was given the impression that the car would be looked at that afternoon (was told there was «just one truck we’re finishing up on then we will take a look», even said they’d call my husband since my phone had died — all indications that the car would at least be looked at that afternoon). I called close to closing since I hadn’t heard anything and was told it wouldn’t be until the next mid-​morning that they would get to my car; the following afternoon rolls around and still no word, so called again and was told it wouldn’t get looked at until Monday. When it finally was looked at Monday afternoon, a part had to be ordered and overnight shipped (not totally unexpected), but despite overnight shipping the replacement part was not installed until Thursday morning. When they called around noon to tell me my car was finally ready to go they offered an oil change since I was due, which I agreed to and told them I would be picking the car up around 5:00. In keeping with the theme of inefficiency, when I showed up they had «forgot» to do the oil change, so the waiting continued while they finished. Overall, it was just a very long, drawn out process with a general lack of communication, making for a very frustrating, hectic week of rearranging schedules/​finding alternative methods of transportation, which could have been avoided had communication on timing/​expectations been made more clear from the start.
Not all mechanics will address clutch issues so I was thankful at least to find one that did; unfortunately it just turned out to be an overall frustrating experience. On the plus side though, the staff is quite friendly and while they suggest additional services for which you may be due, they are not pushy as many other mechanics can be.
If I have a routine issue that can be addressed by appointment I may take my car back here, but should I have another unexpected issue I will unfortunately be taking my business elsewhere.

These guys are a rare find in the mechanic business. Very profesional, always well dressed, the shop is always clean, and they have free cokes and movies playing (good and current ones) while you wait. I’ve always been treated fairly and honestly here. One time they changed my oil and the filter was too thin for my car so the oil all leaked out all over my driveway. My Mechanic came and picked me up, towed my car back to the shop, fixed everything, then sent someone to pressure wash my driveway and brought me home. All at no extra cost. This is the only mechanic I go to in Houston. These are great guys! I dont know why that reviewer had such a bad experience but My Mechanic is a great shop!

Had a great experience here yesterday when I brought my car in for a battery replacement. I was dreading having to take the car in because of bad prior experiences with dishonest auto shops (in Maryland). However, the excellent service provided exceeded my expectations and they have earned my business for any other car trouble I may run into in Houston.
I made an appointment the day before. When I arrived, they had an open bay waiting and got to work right away. They outlined what they were going to do and had me approve it before they started working. The waiting room is comfortable, clean and pleasant. They had to get the battery from another place in town, and when that was taking longer than expected, they were very apologetic even though it was the fault of the supplier, not them. Since it was going to take longer than expected, Peter even offered to drive me home (just down the road).
They did not try to sell me additional services or tell me anything else was wrong with my car. The pricing was also very reasonable. My Mechanic was helpful and respectful. I am sure I will be back.

Just came here today after my car started making a nervous rumbling noise (I had dropped my car on its rotor a few days back while changing a tire). They took it in, let me watch them lift it up, and they walked through what was wrong WITH me. Apparently part of the back of the rotor was bent, and they suspected such after just hearing my story. Best of all? They didn’t charge me a dime. Honest, intelligent mechanics with integrity.

Car Mechanics often get the bad rep of dishonesty, but not the mechanics here! People are genuine in getting your car problem fixed at reasonable prices. Plus, you get a $ 10 off if you check-​in on Unilocal!
I came here because my tire was suddenly flat after sitting in the parking lot for days. After getting the spare tire up, I went here on my boss’s recommendation. I usually get glared and scorned by mechanics like a third-​class citizen elsewhere but I was met with the friendly employees at this shop. The waiting room was also showing Fast & Furious 4 when I was there so I wasn’t bored out of my mind as I wait for my car repair.
In the end, my tire was flat because of a nail and it was fortunate that the damage was easily repairable. When the bill came out, I was surprised that the total was less than $ 15! I felt bad about using my Unilocal discount, so I saved it in case I am in a bigger car trouble because I am planning to return here when I need car help again!

Very clean, nice waiting area. Staff is friendly and considerate of families (there was a grown up movie playing and they changed it to a family movie for a little 3 yo who was scared). They seem honest and to do a good job. This is my first time and I plan to keep on coming back!

The staff are very friendly and the service is great! They got me in and out for an oil change + wiper blade replacement + light bulb replacement in 30 – 45 minutes on a weekday after 5 pm.

Took my car in after it started making a noise upon acceleration and the check engine light came on. They said it was carbon buildup in the fuel system and that the ELD needed to be replaced. I needed it fixed, so I okayed it. About $ 550. I should have checked into it myself first. Car people I know and forums I’ve checked have said the fuel system service is a ripoff that is rarely ever needed. Also, the ELD is a quick fix and a $ 30 part.
I get my car after the initial fix, it is still making the same noise that I brought it in for. I was told that t Now I’m told that it’s in the manifold and that I can get that for around $ 800 if I want to, but that the car will run ok without the fix. I decline.
Two days later, check engine light is back on. This time I’m told that it’s a leak that wasn’t there 2 days ago when they ran diagnostics and that the fix will be 300 something.
Bottom line, I came in to get an engine sound fixed and get whatever was making the check engine light come on resolved. I spent $ 550, and neither thing is fixed.
Part of the blame is on me, I should have checked into things myself. But man, do I miss my mechanic back home.

It’s my first time to do an oil change here. I’ve had great experience here in regards to staff’s attitudes, waiting time and price. I went there on Monday afternoon, waited for like an hour and got my oil changed. I waiting is not unbearable especially in a cozy tiny lounge with TV showing a funny movie. The price is reasonable since I’ve used the same kind of oil last time but 10 bucks more expensive.
I also used the $ 10 coupon for the service. So that’s also a plus star, lol.
In one nutshell, I have a big love for this place.

I’ve been so busy with work that I haven’t had time to go to the dealership to get an oil change. This simple fact led me to My Mechanic, before work, at 7am this past Monday. I was in and out in about 35 minutes for a reasonable price. Given their friendly service and quick turnaround, I will most certainly be returning to them for future car work.

Ryan and Peter are great. Always honest, explain everything needed clearly and I never feel taken advantage off. Always hundreds less then the dealer shop.
I’ve had everything from oil change to brakes to motor mounts replaced. Always upfront and never try to up sell. In fact, I’ve gone in a few times for work, only for them to tell me it’s not needed, or point out an underlying cause, like bad tires vs alignment etc. I’m very loyal and won’t use anyone else. Have serviced both foreign and domestic vehicles as well as luxury carts.

Car parts and maintenance cost money. I will agree that it’s expensive and you probably haven’t saved for it, which you should start doing now.
This shop was more than reasonable with their rates and was willing to show me exactly what needed to be fixed. The even kept the car overnight so I could get other quotes.
A general rule to live by;
If it costs more than half for a brand new one, for cars more than half of its KBB resell value, it’s time to buy a new one.

I’ve only had an experience trying to get a state inspection here; I didn’t find much info on Unilocal about auto state inspections around here so I figured this review might be helpful to someone. I brought my car at around 3pm on a Friday hoping to get in and out quickly but there was a huge wait (the person behind the counter said at least 2 – 3 hrs) and they also don’t let you use the check-​in offer of $ 10 off on an inspection, so it would cost you $ 40 total. If you make an appointment ahead of time it takes 30 min. Anyway, I was bummed I couldn’t use my check-​in offer. The employee was polite about it, though.
I ended up walking next door to the Shell at Kirby/​Holcombe and got it done there in less than 20 min for $ 35.

Dropped off my 2010 Honda with them. I needed Transmission fluid change. I asked them to check my brakes. Work was finished within time promised. Brakes were reviewed good, and I was told I overfilled the air in a couple of tires. I was impressed.
Yes, it is not as cheap as a 3 man shop in the industrial part of town. However, it beats the pants off the Honda Dealership !
