Nazar’s Fine Jewelry

My husband and I bought my engagement ring here in August of 2014. Initially I was very pleased with the entire transaction, and felt like we had gotten a good deal for our money. However, in the last year and a half, I’ve lost TWO diamonds out of my setting. The first time was less than 6 months after I purchased it, so they said it was still under warranty and it was fixed. However, this time it is not under warranty, so I’m paying out of pocket to have it fixed at another jeweler. I’m really disappointed that this has happened TWICE in less than 2 years, and is a reflection of their poor workmanship.

My first negative review was disputed on here, claiming lack of detail. So here’s a new one:
The store has very nice jewelry, and pretty ok sales staff. They are very nice. The security guard stares and treats you like a criminal the entire time you’re in the store, which is a very huge mood-​killer, but I understand the need and try not to discount my experience because of that.
Prices are very high in my opinion, but that isn’t always an issue if you’re jewelry shopping.
Follow up on my order was extremely poor. I had to keep in touch with them and call to track the progress of my order, which they told me should take 2 – 3 weeks (lots of weak and failed promises throughout this process), and ended up taking up 6 weeks. They did not volunteer any statuses or keep me up to date on all the mistakes and delays, I only found out by reaching out when I was confused and worried. This was a big deal to me since I told them I lived in Dallas, planned my trip back around when the ring was promised to be ready. Instead, It was a month late, and as a result I didn’t have it for many of the occasions we had planned, including our anniversary.
I did not feel treated like a highly valued customer or well served at all. The ring is nice, but at this point I sincerely wish I had gone elsewhere.

We bought my wedding set at Nazar’s and was beyond gorgeous. The service was excellent and I regularly go in to get my rings cleaned! There is a large selection to choose from and if you can’t find the one you are looking for they can help you out!

We went here to get my engagement ring and band, no one greeted us as we walked in, we had to ask for assistance, don’t get me started on the prices, we had a deal going and salesman person changed, so the price changed??? Um, okay… did get my ring sized to fit me, then found out the deal wasn’t what we paid for… luckily they honored their price they had originally told us, but let me say one sales guy was trying to sell us into buying a rectangular diamond for a squared cut space… I’m no math genius but even a 5 y/​o knows that doesn’t fit. We were there to buy a nice ring, not something of poor quality just bc it was cheaper. No. If u make a deal, make sure everything is set in stone before u slide your card.

Buyer Beware: My husband bought my engagement ring here, and after 1.5 years, the main diamond came loose while I was drying my hands. I know this is when it came off because after turning my apartment upside down for 2 days looking for it, I found it beneath where I dry my hands.
We took the ring back to Nazar’s for them to reset it, and they said it would cost $ 50. I asked if there was any kind of guarantee when he bought it, but he said «No– I don’t know how hard she (I) hit it.» Really? I was drying my hands!
I feel like if you spend that much money on a ring, they should believe you and waive the resetting fee especially since I’ve only had it a year and a half.
Also, we were thinking about getting our wedding bands here, but the salesman was so pushy we went somewhere else.
I just want people to know that if you do decide to buy from here, the quality of the work isn’t great (obviously if it comes off that easily) and you’ll have to pay in order to get it set as strongly as it should have been set the first time. (Well, I hope it stays set this time!) It’s a good thing we found the diamond or else I wouldn’t even have an engagement ring right now.

This jewelry store is the ONLY store I will ever buy from. Their prices are the most competitive and also have the best selection in diamonds and other precious stones. They are always willing to go the extra mile to make sure you leave with a smile on your face. If you’re ever in the market for a pair of earrings or an engagement ring or anything jewelry related you must stop by and check out their store because you will not be disappointed. Thanks Nazar’s!

My sweet husband took me to Nazar’s to update my wedding ring and the experience was not what we expected. We have bought many pieces of jewelry at Nazar’s and were always pleased with the sales person. Robert was more like a used car salesman than a fine jewelry consultant. He had no interest in what we wanted in, only getting his hands on our credit card. I realize they don’t make as much money redoing an existing ring but for a repeat customer I expected better treatment. He tried the pressure technique, which usually makes me head to the door. I am saddened because I was hoping to do business with them again.

I went here a few years ago and bought a Tag watch. Product was great and they did give me a good price. In the last 6 years the watch ran out of battery twice and twice they replaced it for not that much. The Nazar family are very nice and helpful. I will return to buy a wedding ring in a few years.

I came in yesterday looking for a necklace and earring set. The woman who helped me was very attentive and understood what I was looking for. I did find earrings that I liked but when I asked how much they were, I couldn’t get a straight answer. She said, first pick the one you want and then we’ll give you a price. Umm what?
When I had narrowed it down a different woman «priced it» and I was finally given a number, but it was more than I wanted to spend and I was put off by their selling style. If you enjoy guessing games and negotiating you might like this place.

I can only speak for my personal experience which was good. We went on a Thursday and were the only people in the store. We were immediately helped and had two guys working hard to find what I wanted.
The main reason I like this place is somewhat of a personal preference. The jewelry at Nazar’s is not even close to as expensive as a place like Zadock’s. The reason is because you are not paying for their über high rent and model looking sales divas.
I gotta tell ya, 14k gold from store A is the same karats as 14k gold from store B. This was a wedding band trip so the stakes weren’t so high.

I’m a fan of this place. I can’t say I’m shocked by some of the other reviews — this is not a mall jewelry store and the sales people embody that, but I’ve always had really good service here and I love the jewelry. Owners are super nice and good at what they do. This week my husband got me a beautiful gift and I was happy to see their little navy blue box with a white bow. I know the quality was there before I opened it and the beauty is obvious.
I got my wedding set here as well and over ten years later have had no issues with it. Holding tight and if I wander in, they’ll clean it up for me. I even had to have an updated appraisal a couple years ago for insurance and they did it no problem. Hubby got another band there because his was feeling a bit tight — they convinced him to only go half a size bigger or so and I think that was probably a bad call, but maybe they knew he was working out and didn’t need that much bigger of a band. Anyways, this is a place I trust for quality and beauty.

I will never give this place business and will tell my friends not to go here. I walked in and asked to get ring finger sized and they respond by saying are you buying something here. I said i will be and the sales person starts fumbling with his words cause he doesn’t want to size my finger. Then the other lady behind the desk tells me I can do it myself. I told them don’t worry about. My plan is to send my boyfriend somewhere else for a engagement ring, so yal just lost a sale.

I have shopped at Nazar’s since 2004. I have been extremely happy with the beautiful jewelry and the wonderful customer service, and my wedding ring was purchased from Nazars. Mr. and Mrs. Nazar are both so nice and helpful.
Every time I go in, they check my wedding ring and clean it. I have recommended two freinds to Nazar’s. One bought a neckace with a diamond pendent, and the other bought a beautiufl diamond braclet.
I have also had an item custom made and they did a beautiful job.
I would recommend them to anyone who wants quality jewelry and excellent customer service.

I’m on the verge of tears at behavior at the salesman at Nazar. They sold me a ring that I got for my husband’s 10 year anniversary with Diamonds that have cracks in a purity and when I came back to return it they said they have no return policy. When I bought the ring I was told they had a 14 day return policy any 30 day exchange policy. Now I am stuck with a 2000 dollar gift card to a place that I don’t even trust. These people are CROOKS!

DO NOT PURCHASE ANYTHING FROM THIS STORE! They are THIEVES whos only goal is to make money, not deliver quality products, service, etc.
We recently made the unfortunate accident of purchasing a diamond from Nazars (they claim to be wholesale, but — do not guarantee your diamond will appraise for double because «then you have to pay more in insurance» AKA «we want to make a few more thousand dollars off of you»). They set the diamond we purchased into a very loved setting we had. UPON picking UP the ring, the entire setting was WARPED! Diamonds were loose, the center stone was crooked and uneven, the band was more triangle than round, and worse off — it barely fit on my finger anymore. Nazars REFUSED to fix it or reimburse us for any damages. Whats worse is they REFUSED to even TRY to fix it because they had made SUCH a mess of it, they said it would completely fall apart if they attempted to fix it. They ACTUALLY had COPS escort us out of the store when we tried to talk with them civilly about the damage.
I firmly believe ANY GOOD REVIEWS come from 1) the stores owners /​employees or 2) those who made simple purchases off the shelves. But even the simple purchases that do not lead you to any problems /​issues with the store employees — YOU ARE getting ripped off. You ARE paying too much for what you are getting. PLEASE, PLEASE take my advice on this. Go to a more reputable establishment. Go somewhere that stands by their products enough to offer SATISFACTION guaranteed. NOTHING good can come from doing business with this store. NOTHING. I firmly believe in learning from mistakes — and I hope MANY people in this great city of ours can learn from us and the mistake we made of trusting these greedy, heartless individuals to do a decent job.
Please do not think this wont happen to you, because even if the sale goes smoothly, you are still overpaying and giving money to individuals who DO NOT CARE about ANY OF THEIR CUSTOMERS. Its very sad. Very sad. ALL THEY CARE ABOUT IS MAKING MONEY! They do NOT care about YOU. They do NOT care about the quality of their products or ANY end results. This is why they offer NO refunds and they are one of the only diamond wholesalers who do NOT guarantee your diamond will appraise for double the amount you paid. DO NOT PURCHASE A THING FROM THIS STORE. There are SO MANY OTHER reputable jewelers in Houston with lower costs, higher quality, AND HEARTS! These people have no souls! BUYERS BEWARE! Do not make such a precious purchase at such a horrible establishment.

A Jewelry store is like a car dealership I shouldn’t have to flag someone down for help! and I refuse to do so. Worst customer service I’ve EVER experienced!
I walked in and asked for a certain designer for a possible wish list for engagement rings and a lady came over and showed me the one ring they had by that designer, let me look then put it back and walked away!
I was not even CLOSE to done, I wanted to wander around and get ideas from other designers, I also was looking for an opal for my little sister (October is the month for opal birthstones) and she kinda pointed me in the general direction… in a HUGE store that wasn’t a help at all! then someone walked in that she obviously knew and she completely ignored me from that point on.
I don’t really know what this jewelry stores problem is but they obviously don’t need any new business as they’ve ticked off me AND my boyfriend (he came in to bring a Freemason ring he inherited to get it re-​sized, they acted like it was below them to do such minor things, and skirted around making up stories and reasons why they couldn’t do it)
We took our business to Steven Cash.

I work right across the street from Nazar’s and so it was convenient for me to go there to get batteries replaced in my husband’s watches. When I walked in I asked the salesgirl if they could change out the batteries. She wasn’t sure so she took it behind the counter and showed the older woman at the podium. Barely looking at the watches she thumbed her nose at them and quickly reply that the watches needed specialized batteries that they did not carry. If you have been inside Nazar’s or even just driven by, it is an enormous store that carries affordable to high end jewelry. So it was to my amazement that this store would not carry batteries for sport watches. How could she have known what type of batteries without opening up the back to see?
I went down to Select Jewelers on Voss (between Westheimer/​San Felipe) which is a quaint boutique and was immediately greeted by a friendly sales person who said he could change out the batteries with no problem. I left a very happy customer!
Business is business — whether a person spends $ 1000 or $ 10. Apparently, Nazar cares more about the bottom dollar then providing exceptional customer service which would result in return business. I will never step foot in Nazar’s again!

First, the good. The quality of the custom designed jewelry I received from Nazar’s was excellent and exactly as I’d envisioned it. When I picked the piece up, I had the chance to interact with Mr. Nazar and he knows a tremendous amount and is very kind.
Unfortunately, the woman who sold me the piece was very pushy. She tried to sell me a very blingy setting and told me that the way I wanted to orient the stone wouldn’t look good, but couldn’t tell me why. When I decided on a setting, she again tried to get me to reorient the stone. She told me they would call when the piece was done.
Weeks later, when they didn’t call, I called to check on the piece and the woman who answered the phone chastised me for not calling sooner. They didn’t tell me to plan to spend another 30 – 40 minutes waiting for them to set the stone.
None of this is the end of the world, obviously, but when you’re making a major purchase, you don’t want to be scolded or pushed around. I’m very happy with the work they did, but I’d probably shop around if I need a jeweler in the future.

Awful place to buy — decent place to look.
Their awful customer service drove me away. I mean AWFUL in every way. I was provided false information (due to ignorance or deceit? I don’t know and don’t care) and refused answers to very basic questions such as the weight of the gold piece I was looking at. If you require a salesperson to educate you on what you are buying, then you really shouldn’t go here. If you want decent customer service or competitive prices, you don’t want to go here either. I expected more from an independent jeweler with such a nice shop.

I took an old diamond ring into Nazar’s to have it repurposed. The ring consisted of a round-​brilliant cut diamond with two trillion (triangle) diamonds. I asked around and someone I worked with recommended Nazar’s. I made an appointment and was late because of traffic. The staff was so nice and the showroom was beautiful and well planned. I was a bit surprised when Nazar himself came out and asked what I wanted to do. I told him that I wanted to take the two side diamonds and make cuff links for my boyfriend. I had a couple of sketches that my bf made and when Nazar looked at them his face lit up and he said that he had a great idea but wanted to change one of the designs and drew it for me. I loved what he sketched. For the center diamond we decided to make it into a pendant for a necklace.
When I picked up the final product, I was well beyond pleased. The cuff links were beautiful. Even though the trillion shaped diamonds were small (.25 ct) the setting showed them off beautifully. The pendant also turned out beautiful and I purchased a chain to go with it.
I recommend this place for anyone who wants to repurpose any of their old jewelry. The customer service is awesome and Nazar is a gifted jewelry designer.
