First and last time I ever use these people. I waited until 730PM on a call that was supposed to be from 2−6PM. The tech arrived. I needed faucets/​fixtures installed in 3 bathrooms and in the kitchen. (2 in Master, 2 in Bathroom, 1 in Guest Bathroom, 1 Kitchen sink, 1 mini bar sink). New fixtures being installed in new granite/​new sinks. He gave me an estimate of $ 4,637!!! ARE YOU KIDDING ME??? I guess he thought I was stupid. That comes out to over $ 600 per install!!! DO NOT EVER CALL THESE PEOPLE. He suggested I also add in a new trash disposal for $ 600…something I can buy at Home Depot for $ 100. This is just ridiculous and gouging at its worst. Will never ever ever recommend this company and will do everything I can to ensure that they don’t take advantage of any other women who they think don’t know any better. Shame on you.

Called around for someone to do two Nest thermostat installs and these guys said they were the local experts. The technician was late and clearly had never installed a Nest before. Watched him reading the instructions, calling the office (cursing) telling me the Nest was defective and all the reasons we didn’t want one anyway. Left after an hour with the job basically undone. Wanted to send a different repairman but why bother. You misrepresented yourself and your company. That’s called lying. Daughter came home for the weekend, installed both thermostats, charged nothing, and over a year later they are still working perfectly.

Ac wasn’t working quite like it should, called these guys to come look at it. When the repair man showed up he hooked his gauges up and told me half my freon was out and that they don’t make r22 freon anymore and the best thing I could do is replace it. Opened his book and said the cheapest one he had was $ 12,000, I obviously said no and i’d think about it, $ 12,000 seemed way to high. So I called Mel over at air well and he came out and looked, come to find out the freon was just a little bit low and I had a small leak in the attic by my expansion valve. So he replaced the valve and pumped the system with the r22 freon the guy from one call told me they didn’t make anymore. Ac works better than it ever had and it only cost me $ 900. And he also quoted me on the same system the guy from one call said was $ 12,000, quoted $ 6000 installed, literally half the price with air well.

Have been our go to solution for HVAC and plumbing. Very dependable even on holidays and weekends. Also good for routine Maintenance. We live in Montrose and always ask for Bobbie to do our service. He is awesome!

They quoted me $ 291 just to clear a clogged drain in my bathroom sight unseen. No thank you.

My AC stopped working and One Call came out the same day. They fixed my old unit and then came to install a new unit the next day. Henry was very hands on and friendly. I also had insulation added to my attic. Lance and josh did a great job with the blown in insulation.

Though I’ve worked with this company before and received satisfactory service I will NEVER use them again and would not wish their deception and thievery on anyone. I called for them to send someone to check my broken heater the first week in January and was informed by him that a panel within the heater was no longer working and that it needed to be replaced at an estimate of $ 750 — $ 950. After a week I was ready for this high cost repair and scheduled to have it performed. When they came back to replace this it was discovered that they ordered the wrong part and (to top it off this was just before Houston’s first big ice day of the year) they were not very apologetic or willing to discount for their mistake. The new piece did not come in until a week later (after BOTH of Houston’s ice days) and when they came back to replace it they realized AGAIN that it was the incorrect piece. This was blamed on my «off brand» unit and it was suggested I just buy and entirely new heater for over $ 2300. Completely fed up, I decided to call a different company who came out to check the heater and discovered a broken fuse that would only cost about $ 10 that was actually causing the heater not to work. It was fixed the next day, easy as that, by an honest company. Do not let One Call Services jerk you around and rip you off the way they tried to do me!

01/​19/​2014 My hot water heater sprung a leak. I thought I would be able to replace the needed parts and keep it simple. Well no such luck… one leak became another and another yet another. So Sunday night I was without water. I turned the main water supply off, went to bed without my shower… nothing worse. Then I remembered my first amazing experience with ONE CALL in December, when they came to the rescue… I now had a plan… They open at 7:00am ! so I called and talked with Suzanne (excellent customer service representative). She dispatched Art and within 3 hours they arrived and restored my water and hot water heater. Excellent service and worth the price for first class quality and promptness. One Call is the best in Houston!

I had a good experience with Billy. He arrived ahead of schedule and was quick and courteous. I would recommend One Call to my neighbors.

Edgar and the guys at One Call are fabulous and professional. I’ve been exclusively using them since 2011 for ALL my AC, Heater, Plumbing and Electrical needs. I have a 15 year old house and things just break. Edgar has come to the rescue countless times. His call times are fast, his techs are knowledgable and professional, and his pricing is extremely fair. And if there’s ever a problem or question Edgar ALWAYS makes it right. Always. Thank you to Edgar and his team for doing a wonderful job every time! I would highly recommend One Call Services to any of my neighbors, family and friends.

Heater wasn’t working correctly so we called around they were the closest one that charges for repair and not for service call to see what was wrong. anyhow, the tech poked around and couldn’t find anything wrong, all he did was flipped the switch to reset the heater and then charged $ 87 for it. that only worked for a day and the heater is acting up again. save yourself time and money and find another place

I was happy to use One Call straight after my phone booking and rescheduling. They made it so easy and pleasant. No waiting, no useless questions and transferred immediately to technician if needed. Then I met their technicians Bobby and Ted. If you use One Call I would request them personally. Bobby is a very honest, up front, kind man that explained everything to me step by step. I had a few quotes and Bobby came in at similar prices but because he was polite, fair and co operative I wanted to book his service. I have no problem referring him to any home.

Don’t trust the good reviews and they are completely wrong.
All they care about is getting money out of you. After that, they don’t care. They said they would meet me within a time frame, and didn’t show up (I even called during the time frame to check on the status). It was not until I called, again, 30 minutes after they were supposed to show up that they said they were not coming. I lost work hours, and they completely wasted my time.
The next day they finally show up. We had some water damage (and trust me it was obvious with our floorboards out and fans everywhere) and the incompetent employee says, «So, did you experience any water damage?» I politely told him yes, but it was the reason for calling him out in the first place. After, he says he has to make a call. I asked if he was coming back, he said he would be. I walked out to check and his truck was gone. COMPLETELY UNPROFESSIONAL. Again, they don’t care so long as they have the money from you, after that you are on your own.
They will take advantage of you and not take responsibility when they screw up. Watch out.

I wanted my yearly A/​C service done which I’ve been meticulous about since unit was new (~7 yrs old), saw their special online reduced from $ 89.95 to $ 30.00 for «A/​C Tune Up». Checked Unilocal reviews, seemed good so called to make appoint (fabulous lady works there called Ms. April-​so so nice courteous and made it all very easy). Rep arrived (25 mins late), was very polite but then spent literally 2 mins at the condensor unit outside, 2 mins up in loft area (no way he couldve got over to the furnace in that time never mind checked drains etc), then proceeded to tell me that not only was the installation of the previous work not good, but my condensor was pulling 2.5amps over capacity and would likely fail within 6 – 8 weeks! (I only called them for a std service!). He then estimated $ 7300 to fix, inc new coil, and left. HE DID NOT EVEN OPEN OR CLEAN the condensor as is usual through any of the previous service appointments I’ve had, and the gauges were only on the condensor for literally 1.5 mins. After leaving message about being somewhat confused and unhappy about the visit, today I was called by an absolutely MORON called Daniel who called himself the ‘Ops Manager’, (pity he couldn’t operate any civility to a customer), who not only told me that I had ‘misinterpreted’ their statement of ‘A/​C Tune Up’ and their standard practice is not to do ‘any work’ (heaven forbid!), and that they just ‘look’ at your A/​C. He said other companies must have been lying to me when they said they were cleaning my condensor unit in previous years (I saw them!), and the best he could do was send someone else out but they’d only do the same thing … so I asked for my money back. He said he’d talk to ‘the Manager’. so I asked to speak to Edgar and he said ‘no, he doesn’t talk to customers and leaves the customers up to him’!!! Really?!? Well, that can’t have been Edgar that I spoke to on the phone the eve before about my appointment then??, or the Edgar that everybody says is soooo good with customers? Yet Daniel wouldn’t yield and pass me onwards. So I [sarcastically] thanked him for being soooo very helpful, hung up and called back. I got Ms. April on the phone who is a credit to Edgar and his team (Excl Daniel), and quickly sorted out the entire situation by talking to Edgar who said that wasn’t standard operating behaviour and apologised for the problems.
I was very pleased with the level of customer service from both Ms April and Edgar, but FORGET DANIEL — he’s a complete waste of time and doesn’t have a clue how to resolve any customer issues. I wouldn’t want him representing my company that’s for sure because I wasn’t impressed at all by his behaviour, and based solely on him, is the reason why I’d think twice about calling this company ever again.

Do not use them! We have three AC units and had used this company for over three years. We had maintenance plans with them and used them at least twice a year. They were pretty good in 2011, but have gone downhill in recent years. The quality of work, the attitude of the techs, and the customer service have all declined. We recently had them do a 3 hour plumbing repair, for which we were overcharged and later found out they hadn’t glued many of the pipes and had to come back again. Even after that call, pipes were still unglued and we had to get another company to fix all of their work! They will try to sell you things you may not need and will call you to tell you they are on their way to your house even after you told them you did not want them doing the work. We had to contact the owner many times about price discrepancies, shoddy work and abrasive techs. He rarely returned ours calls and when he did had many excuses and seemed put out to honor pricing we had verbally agreed on (in terms of applying the trip charge to the repair charge).

Mixed blessings — Spend time on clarity of what you get for your money
I called OneCall when my upstairs unit in my townhome stopped cooling. I wanted to use someone in my neighbourhood to support my local community. OneCall was immediately available and sent someone right away. The tech brought sophisticated equipment and convinced me that I needed a new evaporator coil in the attic. He said I also have a small leak in the outdoor condenser and that I should consider replacing it in the future. He said that once I did that, I would enjoy a comprehensive warranty of the entire system which would be registered with the manufacturer although I don’t remember the terms (shame on me). The unit was working again, but my repeated requests for paperwork were eventually met with a simple services rendered showing my total amount due, $ 2,260 with no detail whatsoever.
One month later, the A/​C is out again, this time on Saturday. Again, OneCall came out promptly to investigate. Unfortunately, the A/​C tech was «old school», didn’t bring out the same leak sensing or pressure testing equipment and opened up the wrong unit in the attic. He didn’t check paperwork on file for my house despite my advice to do so and proceeded to leak check the brand new evaporator coil internals rather than the connections or the condenser coil outside. Ultimately, he found the outside leak and said that the previous technician had missed an obvious large leak before (ouch, that hurts).
Now, it was time for the new condenser. I wanted to upgrade to the latest environmentally acceptable Freon (410 rather than 22) so I got a quote for a new unit. I was told that the $ 700 recharge of Freon over the weekend would be taken out of the new unit. The tech professed high praise for the company owner, Edgar and said that they only used top class equipment.
I was late for work and they did not have the parts in hand as previously stated so I had to give them a cc and went to work. I paid $ 2,800 which I assumed included a deduct for the $ 700 freon and would be a top, 3 ton model from Trane. When I got home, I learned that I was sold a «builder» model which is definitely not a top model and that there was no deduction. To add insult to injury, the manufacturer’s website says they offer a standard 10 year warranty yet OneCall only offered 5 years.
So, for $ 5,760 I am the proud owner of a system which is arguably no better than what was originally installed and can expect to pay it again in 6 years which is the same lifetime as the original builder unit. If I had really dug into this, I would have declined the initial $ 700 charge for R22 Freon and stayed downstairs for the weekend to keep cool. I would have gotten a quote for a specific condenser unit of demonstrable value and a warrantee commensurate with the manufacturers standard warranty.
I phoned the owner to advise him of this dissatisfaction and requested that he review the files and advise what he could do to address this. He acknowledged that his tech had not been in the field for some time and might have been a bit rusty. He promised to call back with a proposed solution as his customer’s satisfaction is important to him. Three weeks later and nothing back from him.
I suggest that future callers to OneCall challenge the qualifications of who they plan to send out, get crystal clear on what you will receive for your money, challenge the chosen approach and demand details on your paperwork before you sign. Despite their stated pride and commitment in working for a «great guy», prospective customers should ignore this and instead get details, details, details.

I called these guys about some drain problems I was having. They were VERY fast to respond. However, the price I was qouted on the phone was less than half the estimate I got on site. On the phone they quoted the hourly rate, but on site I was quoted a flat price per drain. I called a different plumber who did the work the same day for half the price.

I found them on Unilocal and call for their service since it offers free estimate which is a plus. Edgar was courteous and scheduled the same day for their technician to fix my leaking faucet. He said just need to replace the moen cartridge and tell me the quote over the phone which is so reasonable price compares to john Moore that told me I need to get a high end new faucet at $ 499 instead of telling me what they really need to replace was a cartridge for this small fix. Then advice me to change out the other one too since it will be different facets for double the price they quote.
Guess what? One call fixed the lavatory faucet leak like less than 30 minutes. Done. I like their honesty and didn’t try to rip you off with unnecessary and ridiculous options. Overall great and prompt service. Didn’t cost me a bomb! Call them if you need plumbing or ac services.
