The owner, Marion Glober, looks for high-​quality pieces of remarkable beauty, value and authenticity on her European buying trips. Past Era enjoys the reputation of consistently having an inventory of prime pieces from Georgian, Victorian, Art Deco, Edwardian, Retro and Estate periods. Backed by generations of knowledge and experience, Past Era is considered one of the country’s finest antique jewelry dealers.

History

Established in 1969.

Past Era is the product of Marion’s life-​long love of antique jewelry. The daughter of London jewelers, she has had intimate experience with antique jewelry from a very young age and carries on her parents’ tradition of quality and expertise. Marion founded her successful shop in Honolulu, Hawaii in 1973 after years of training in England and the United States. After 20 years as Honolulu’s top antique jewelry dealer, Marion moved to Houston, Texas in 1993, where Past Era has continued to attract customers worldwide. In August of 2011 Past Era moved into a beautiful Shop located at 3433 W. Alabama #100, between Edloe and Buffalo Speedway.

As a long-​standing member of the Houston Antique Dealer’s Association (HADA), Marion also has a strong presence in the antique community. She has appeared on the radio and television and lectures extensively on antique jewelry; museums and collectors worldwide seek her expertise. A native of London, England, Marion was born into the trade, so to speak, to parents who were specialists in antique jewelry for over forty years in Hatton Garden, London’s world-​famous jewelry center. Trained from early childhood to appreciate the heirloom rings, pins and necklaces that sparkled on her father’s workbench, Marion opened her own store after moving to Honolulu in 1967. Past Era Antique Jewelry is known, for its superlative quality and the wide-​ranging selection of 18^th, 19^th and early 20^th century true period pieces.
