Resurrection Metropolitan Community Church

Since I was forced by the circumstances of my previous marriage to come out, I was rejected by my entire family who are extremists conservatives. But I didn’t want to be angry at God for what humans do with his grace. It is his to give and no one else’s. I wanted to continue serving God in a church where I was welcomed and not judged. I feel that this church provides that for the Houston’s homosexual Christian community. This church made me feel like I can continue my relationship with God and worship in a welcoming and accepting environment.
We only went once for the service at 9am. We enjoyed it very much and left feeling more enriched and closer to God. It was such a special experience to be able to take communion with my partner, who is also a Christian, and have someone pray over us.
We both have children and are very excited for the children’s church. I can’t wait to bring our kids so they can enjoy learning and worshiping in a church where they know that we are accepted. They met their librarian here with their first visit! That was such an amazing surprise for us and the kids!
We plan to attend again and see if there is a way that both of us can get involved in serving the church. Both my partner and I have strong church servicing backgrounds and are so excited to be able to continue our life together and serve the Lord!
I do wish that the church would emphasize more that straight people are also welcomed here. But I’m sure there is always room for improvement! Still, we loved it here nonetheless and plan to go next Sunday again.

This was my son and partner’s second visit here today, once again it was great. Last Sunday we attended service at RMCC church and we just felt at home. My 12yr was the 1^st to speak up and said I feel at home here and very comfortable too. We will be back.

My partner and I are looking for a church home for our family, so we have been visiting different churches lately. We were here last Sunday and pleasantly surprised by how friendly and loving everyone was. It was not stuffy at all and the service was very good. We left impressed and will probably be back for another visit — maybe to stay.

Been here for church twice. Very warm people and great service. Awesome praise time (contemporary music).
Kinda big congregation though. It’d be hard getting to know people here. Like other churches this big, you can be surrounded by hundreds but still feel alone.

I’m here for a social group meeting and apparently the sewage treatment plant nearby is burning off some excess gas. Whoa.
The space is adequate and typical for a church rec room. I’m not sure of the rental cost but this is great for people in the Heights «gayborhood»… the space is maybe 30×30and overlooks a huge parking lot and a field. There are dedicated restrooms in the lobby for boys and girls and they even promote «Safe-​Sex» with appropriate accoutrement in the restroom.
It’s a great space for spiritual enlightenment and/​or fellowship.

Warm, welcoming, and wonderful. Great music, interesting sermon, no fire and brimstone guilt ridden feelings! I let a lot of love and peace! I will go again and again!
