Randy and his staff were great. They were respectful of my time and saw me at my scheduled appt. They were professional in the patient room, courteous to each other, and they identified what I already knew, that my insurance is aweful, and worked with me to find the best pricing possible.

They write prescriptions for 4 days of meds at a stretch and can take over five days to sort themselves out to get the prescription fulfilled. Every time I call to get a refill I get voicemail, that voicemail does not get a response so I leave another and another and another. There is a problem every time I need a prescription without fail. There is no one on staff that you can escalate to, your only recourse is to leave a message on the same voicemail that apparently never gets checked. As soon as you get a prescription filled call in for a refill the next day because it’s going to take two days before everything gets sorted out. I have been waiting since Thursday for a prescription to be taken care of and it is now Monday. Still no callback and the prescription remains unfilled. I have never waited more than 15 minutes to get medication with other offices. They obviously have some staffing or business process issues. Get your surgery done here then switch to another office entirely for your meds after surgery. This is not just one incident this is every prescription I have had from this office. Out of six prescriptions over 4 weeks only one was filled with no issues. Out of the pharmacy, insurance company and the doctors office it’s the doctors office not playing ball.

At therapy my therapist will be leaving this place soon as she moving to Ariz0na. Sad

I’ve never seen a more convoluted process of getting checked in. After waiting over a full hour, filling out tedious paperwork (even as an established patient), paying my copay before seeing the doctor, I ran out of time and had to leave. My time is valuable and I shouldn’t need to block out my entire morning for one simple appointment. No one told me to arrive early, or that there would be a ½ hour of paperwork before I was allowed to see the doctor. When I initially expressed concern over my scheduling constraints, the woman at the front desk did nothing to expedite the process. Once I was finally escorted to an exam room, the nurse told me there were 5 patients ahead of me & told me I would be seeing a different doctor than the one I had seen previously. It wasn’t until then that a supervisor came in, doing nothing more than asking me to continue waiting to see the doctor. By this point, my confidence in the aptitude of the staff didn’t not meet my standards for someone providing healthcare or, in my case, performing surgery. This is when I had to leave for a meeting. I had to call to ask for them to refund my copay. This doesn’t include what I am out from the $ 14 parking to loss of time at my job. Needless to say, I won’t be back!

In March 2014, I had a ski injury which was later diagnosed by Dr. Taylor Brown as a torn ACL with partial tears of both my MCL and LCL (yikes, right?). I found Dr. Brown by looking for orthopedic surgeons with favorable reviews and just want to pay it forward with one of my own.
First of all, I had originally considered going to a more glamorous practice (i.e. the surgeons that handle the Houston Texans). Decided against it after it was too hard to schedule an appointment (one was booked for a full month). Also I have a friend who went to them for her knee surgery and she continued to have subsequent problems post-​surgery so I was skeptical about the care I’d receive from them.
Choosing Dr. Brown at the BJC was a great decision. I never waited more than 5 minutes to be seen and I really liked how he would sit down and listen to me. No matter how long it had been since my last appointment, he remembered me and specific information I had previously mentioned («how was your friend’s wedding? How was that Prince concert?»).
But besides his positive bedside manner, I also found him to be extremely knowledgeable and competent. I never once doubted what he was telling me. And once when I emailed a gazillion questions to his assistant in a nervous rant a week before my surgery, he called me personally and answered each and every one of my questions with data and research to back up his comments. The call was during business hours and lasted about 15 minutes so I was very impressed by his willingness to give me that time and attention during peak hours just to ease my worries.
My ACL surgery went perfectly with zero complications. My scars were so minimal that my physical therapist said she couldn’t understand how he even did the surgery because I was missing a scar in a spot that normally is very prominent. My recovery was exceptional – my PT told me that I was reaching full extension and flexion several weeks sooner than I should’ve been. Also, just want to mention that 3 months after my surgery, I did a 4 hour hike up and down Machu Picchu Mountain (and I was really not that fit prior to surgery). I’m now one year post-​injury and 10 months post-​surgery and I feel as if the knee I had reconstructed is actually stronger and in better shape than the former «good» knee.
I attribute it all to having an amazing surgeon who was able to get me back on my feet much more quickly than any others would have. I can’t speak on other diagnoses but certainly if you have any knee ligament issues, please go see Dr. Brown.

I have been going to the BJC since 2006, I have seen several doctors, but I find Dr. Ronald Lepow to be very thorough. He explained what was wrong with me and what he was going to do to get me back on my feet (no pun intended). His staff was very friendly. Despite the pain I was in, they made me feel comfortable!!!
Drs. Lepow and Sassard are highly experienced and competent doctors that I would recommend to anyone.

I torn my meniscus back in Feb. A family member suggested I go here; so I gave em a call and made the appointment. I will say, their office is very nice, and I didn’t have the long wait times I’ve read about in other reviews. Additionally, they do have an onsite xray & MRI, which I’d think should be expected from such a large, specialty operation.
Either way, I go through the xray, and get to the waiting room. Dr. Smith comes in and asks what’s going on. I proceed to tell him what happened and when, where the pain is localized and under what conditions. He then says «Oh, it’s probably a torn meniscus and we can arthro that right out.» I’m sitting there thinking «I’m sure this guy has lots of experience, but isn’t it early to start talking about surgery?»
He then goes on to tell me about how Orthopedic surgeons used to remove the meniscus because they didn’t know what purpose it serves, but now they can remove pieces that tear and risk causing other problems down the line. Honestly, that bit of historical context didn’t give me the warm and fuzzies… I’m glad they learn things in their profession, but I’d rather keep as much of my knee as I can and hope that technology improves so they figure out how to fix it rather than cutting stuff out.
I ask what alternatives are available to surgery, and he just gives me this look that tells me I’ve annoyed him. Well, to hell with that! Just cause the guy has a hammer, doesn’t mean my knee is going to be his next nail!
I immediately begin my search for a new orthopedic surgeon, preferrably one who isn’t in a rush to perform surgery to pay the (what I’m sure is quite high) rent on a spiffy office at the top of the medical center. I did find one who is awesome and who (in my case) thinks along the same lines as I do in that surgery should be the last resort, not the first. His name is Dr. Anup Shah & he’s at Kelsey Seybold.
Anyway, I’ve since moved on from this quack shop, but before I made my departure, I agreed to do the MRI there since it could be scheduled for a day or two later. I made sure I’d get a copy of the images on a cd so I could take them elsewhere. I had to pay a sizeable chunk of change out of pocket for the MRI, but figured my FSA would cover it on the back end. It’s been 6 months and my insurance still hasn’t received the claim info to process it through my FSA for my reimbursement. I’ve tried calling their Business Office a dozen times and left 3 – 4 voice messages to no avail. Protip to this craptastic medical office: Hire someone in the business office who isn’t allergic to phones. Phones tend to work a lot better when answered…
Today, I’m trying a different approach of having the operator get me through to their office manager. She offered to get their Business Office person so I finally heard from her! Things seem to be on track to get resolved, but the fact that it took so much effort is absurd.

Dr. Taylor Brown has a great bedside manner, explains the options, has all xrays done conveniently near exam area (good when your knee hurts!!) and his staff was so friendly. I will admit their was a good bit of paper work on the first visit, but that is way ok for me to have a good doctor. I also enjoyed watching the dark thunderstorm approach from the beautiful view of the waiting area! Two days later and my limping for 5 months is gone! Yes!

I have been going to this practice for about 10 years. Dr. Labbe takes his time and explains options for treatment. I have see several other doctors (T.Siff, Smith, Watters) in the practice for other ortho specialties. Reading the other reviews make me wonder about the reviewers… who cares what order the doctors names are listed on a piece of paper, and many offices collect co-​pays up front.

I saw Dr Brown at the Fannin location and had a very positive experience. My wait time was around 5– 10 minutes. I found Dr Brown very caring and very thorough. What I appreciated the most, however, was the time he took to explain my diagnosis and options. I never felt rushed, and was able to ask as many questions as I wished. He also took the initiative to explain the results of an MRI I had done by another doctor in terms I could understand. I also liked his nurse very much, she came and did the intake as soon as I was shown to a examining room. As far as the rest of the office staff, they were businesslike, and efficient. Most of the doctors I go to today require the co-​pay up front, so that was not a surprise or concern to me.

This is my third time visiting this location. Each time there is a significant wait, this time it was 1 hour before i saw the doctor. There was not a singe acknowledgement of their lack of planning and running late.
Plus, they make you pay ahead of time, before seeing the doctor. How makes you pay for services before receiving them? Very poor business practices.
Dr. Greider is not a horrible doctor, but ive had much better. I had to remind him of the things he said during our last appointment and basically beg him to follow through with finding a solution for my ailments and not just send me packing with a «strengthen your core» recommendation.
I will definitely find another doctor.

I have been a patient at BJC for several years and my experiences include therapy, shots, and surgery. Dr. Todd Siff has always been my doctor and I have always found him to be compassionate, thorough, and thoughtful in his approach to my care. Recently, the clinic has moved to an online, real-​time charting system. Mistake! In my last visit in February, I saw the doc, got a shot and was told some anti-​inflammatories would be prescribed. No hard copy script; all electronic. Four weeks later — no script. I have called and left messages, but nothing. So, I gave up. Fortunately, doing without has not been a big deal. Next time, I will insist on a written prescriptions.

The Clinic was able to get me in the same day I called. The Doctor and nurse were both helpful and nice.

Second visit worse than the first. This office needs a good dose of operations management.
First, let’s cover the good. Dr. Todd Siff is pleasant, seems very competent and has a good approach to orthopedic care (wait and see before offering surgery).
And then there is the bad and this is a LONG review. This facility has more BAD attitude in it than you can believe. Couple that with system that are non-​patient friendly and you have an outrageously bad customer service experience.
Classic Example: At check-​in, they give you a check-​in sheet to write in your name and circle the doctor you are seeing. Here is where you learn immediately of the arrogance of this practice; the list is not ordered alphabetically by physician last name; it is by SENIORITY of physician. Do any of you know where your doc stacks up in seniority at his office?
Couple that with a receptionist carrying enough attitude to weigh down an elephant and you have already started off on the wrong foot.
Today, I checked in for a 3:00 appointment and did not see the doctor until 3:37. At which point, he and I discussed my options — only good five minutes out of the 75 minutes I spent there. He offered a steroid shot (then and there) or an MRI. We decided MRI route and I was sent two cubicles down to scheduling.
Not their fault but my insurance company required authorization which meant a three-​day wait. OK, since I am now looking at a three-​day authorization wait PLUS wait time to get an MRI appointment; I ask the «NAIVE» question, can I please get the shot you offered FIVE minutes ago since it was a viable option to mitigate my pain?
Nurse is found to answer my request … NO is the answer. Why? The answer WAS «we already closed you out in the system so we can’t do the shot.» Because of our computer system, we are not going to give you the shot we offered you five minutes ago which MIGHT reduce your pain over the next week while you wait for insurance and our office to sort it out.
Your computer system is trumping your patient care???
Change that system or find a new line of work.
If this is the best that private healthcare has to offer, I may have to change my opinion on government managed healthcare, HOW could it be WORSE?
And tragically, I will be back. Why? Because I like the doc AND more importantly because they started the paperwork with my insurance company and I am sure it would be HELL on earth to get that changed or started elsewhere.

The office operates very poorly. I have been eight times (will not be going back) and each time I have waited at least 45 minutes. This is extremely unprofessional considering I am the one paying for the visit. It also assumes my time is not valuable. I don’t have time to miss a half day of work each time I come for a follow up visit. After a long wait you see the doctor for maybe 5 minutes because they completely overschedule the appointments. I also started to think they were scheduling unecessary follow up appointments just to collect more money. For instance, while I was in physical therapy I would have to come in just to say how it was going. Couldn’t I have called for that? I felt sort of taken advantage of.
Also, the girls at the front desk are not friendly and lack professionalism. I am also bothered that my co-​pay is collected is soon as I walk in considering I have not yet received any service.
Also, I called the get copies of my medical records and was told the medical record people are not at work every day. I was then transferred to an automated message system to leave a message. I called back to ask if anyone else could help me and I was told «no.» Classic example of a large company that lacks a personal touch and gives you buyer’s remorse each time you spend $ 40 to have a follow up appointment (to speak to someone for a few minutes). I will not be going back.

I saw Dr. Taylor Brown here and had one of the best Dr. experiences ever.
I saw him for a second opinion on a meniscus tear in my left knee.
He wasn’t overbooked that morning. When he came into the exam room he literally said to me «I’m not in a rush today, so let’s go through all of images and discuss your options. I have time to sit and chat a while» I was blown away.
I got all of my questions answered. I learned a tremendous amount of information about my knee, the injury, my options, and the felt very confident with the plan going forward.
I absolutely recommend this office. The facility was very nice, new, and clean. They have all the imaging equipment they need at the office as well so you don’t have to go any where else for xrays or CT scans.
