Casey and Jared are true professionals. I recently dyed my hair for the first time in my life and am so glad I Casey and Salon 2DYE 4 were recommended to me. Casey took his time and was very meticulous and thorough in making sure my dark brown hair processed correctly to a gorgeous blonde. Changing my hair color so drastically was a big deal for me and Casey and Jerrid made sure I was comfortable and at ease throughout the whole process.

The salon has changed and none of the stylists stick around due to poor management. The owner was messy and disrespectful

I moved to Houston a couple months ago and was having a heart attack over finding a new salon. After reading the reviews on here, I decided that I should give it a go. Let me tell you Michelle is AMAZING! She did my blonde highlights perfectly!
I spent some time in Miami, and I didn’t think it would be possible to find someone better than my person I went to there for 5 years. However, I did, This place is awesome! They are not the cheap mall version. But I promise you will walk out feeling like a million $$$.
I have even been trying to learn how to do some braiding in my hair. After my appointment Michelle taught me on the creepy mannequin head how to do a dutch braid, and now I have been able to braid my own hair for the first time ever with her help!
If you want high end color and style, then you won’t be disappointed. Thanks for making me feel and look gorgeous!

Went to this salon and was very pleased with my hair by Michelle! She is so sweet and so talented, I recommend her for anyone. My hair was ombré with my roots extensively grown out and now I’m happily blonde thanks to Michelle. She even met my needs by making my hair temporarily pastel pink (which I wanted for so long).

I moved back to Houston after being in Los Angeles for 7 years. I have been to celebrity colorists, hipster salons, anywhere you can think of in search of someone who could color my dark hair and achieve natural looking results. Casey is the best, he loves what he does, and it shows. I’m Asian and my hair is naturally dark brown (almost black) and he always manages to color my hair to perfectly match the tones in my skin. My hair is never brassy when he colors it. He fixed an ombré gone wrong a few years ago and I’ve always trusted him to do a great job.

I just recently moved to Houston and I am so thankful Salon 2 Dye 4 was recommended to me by a close friend!
I have been coloring my hair blonde for 15+years and at my very first appointment Casey blew me away! I have never received so many compliments leaving the salon!
I had heard he was exceptional and a blonde specialist and he absolutely is!!! He is definitely a master in his trade! He worked his magic to give me the healthiest brightest most beautiful blonde I have always wanted but no one else has ever been able to achieve!
He used the latest in master coloring techniques and the most advanced products to help rebuild and renew my hair to make it look both thick and healthy!!!
Now that I’ve discovered Casey I will never go anywhere else! I can’t praise him, his artistic eye and the amazing staff at Salon2Dye4 enough!
I highly recommend Casey to everyone, especially for blondes!

Courtney is a miracle worker. My hair was dry, frizzy, and felt like straw when I went in, and when I went out it was soft, shiny, and healthy. My friends almost applauded when they saw it afterwards. The place has a very chill but posh environment, and you definitely get what you pay for (which is a lot, but so, so worth it).

I must update my review. So the first few times I went to this salon I was booked with Chandra. She quit and tried to get me to follow her but I thought the way she handled her exit from the salon wasn’t very classy or professional so they started booking me with Casey.
This past weekend was my second appointment with Casey and I’m so happy he’s doing my hair now. Chandra was good, but even after three or four appointments with her she never got me quite where I wanted to be. Casey is AMAZING. My first appointment with him was a bit long because we were doing corrections on Chandra’s work, but I left the salon completely gobsmacked at the final product. I have never gotten this result with my hair ever! I’ve always wanted to be platinum blonde but every stylist I’ve ever gone to is too afraid to do it or advises against it.
Not Casey. He does my color SO well it looks like my hair is naturally platinum blonde! It’s wild. And you might thing that going platinum would wreak havoc on my hair, but it’s quite the opposite. With a good cut from Casey my hair actually started growing, and I have little to no breakage. I’m not usually one to buy the product that they are selling in the salon but the prices of their products aren’t outrageous and it’s been helping the health of my hair.
I very highly recommend Casey (especially for blondes)…if you can get an appointment with him – the boy is in very high demand!

Wish I could give less than 1 star. I have never been treated so poorly as a customer in my life. I recently moved in the city and came across this place by way if Groupon. My appt was originally booked with Chandra, but I was called and told she had a death in the family (lie– she quit). My appt switched to Casey. I was coming in for a highlight touch up but wanted to add some low lights for dimension. Casey picked out the low light and foiled me hair. Color looked good (not great) but I was content. I dont wash my hair everyday and after highlights my hair becomes a bit more dry so I didnt wash if for a few days. Then I washed it… the low light washed out. The blonde was brassy and copperish in color and the low light had turned ashy with a green dingy hue. The salon is closed on Sun-​Tues. I called the next Wed to share my concern. (1 wk later). Came in the next day. I showed my concerns to Casey. He agreed the color had changed and had washed out. I showed him where we tried to match the natural color to the low light and how that had not taken place. He agreed the color was off and that he should have done more around the face and throughout the top. He also agreed it already looked like I had roots. I asked if he could do something to bring back the brightness of my highlights as they were yellow, he told me once he corrected the low light, it would help the yellow color of the blonde. He foiled my hair and this time placed me under the steamer. His assistant rinsed my hair and dried it. ITS WAS WORSE. I was mortified. I waited for Casey to finish with the client he had in effort to not embarrass him. He asked what I thought and I just made a sad face. I said, «its just not what I wanted, I feel like that colors are off and its just very dingy, looking». I told him color didnt match my natural and my blonde was very orange. He snapped, told me he refused to touch my hair again. He went on to tell me that I had horrible hair and that I came in looking way worse. This was not the case. Yes, I needed a trim and my roots done but the health of my hair was and has always been well/​professionally maintained. He told me «the good thing about owning your own salon is being able to kick people out» He walked to the door, opened it and told me to leave. I had not been rude, ugly, or insulting. I even said things like «maybe WE can use a toner or something to adjust the tone». I was careful not to be mean so I said things like «we» or «how about we try». Nothing mattered. He said he would not guarantee the color if I didnt buy the entire Wella Brand Line. I informed him I used Salon/​Professional Grade Loreal and Nioxin Color Care products, never in my life have I had to switch the line I use to match the color brand. In fact, I never have and I have never had an issue like this or any for that matter. He said «you have horrible hair, I can only work with what you have and I refuse to touch your hair again». I told him I wanted my money back and he refused. Stood at the door and said «get out of my salon.»
At the initial appt, his assistant, Cindy, called and asked if I could come early. I did. When I got there I made a comment about needing to do my (own)nmake up while I sit in the chair. Casey suggested letting his assistant, Jared, do my make up. He said, «if you want Jared can do it while you sit. He likes to do makeup and does a pretty good job.» At no time was any mention of a charge or anything brought up. This was mentioned to me in a «let him play with your make up kind of way». While Jared was rinsing my hair I asked if he went to school or was going to school for make up application. He told me no, but that he did make up in High School while he was in drama. Jared used MY makeup, and well… It was not great. I looked like I was in theater on stage. I had him stop and I did my own eye makeup and lips. When I went to check out they tried to charge me $ 65 for the make up application. I explained that there was no mention of any charge nor did I know it was a salon service being offered. I thought he was doing it in his spare time for practice or fun. Cindy made me feel bad and told me she would have to charge me a «make up retouch fee for $ 25» I did not want to hurt Jared’s feelings (hes a sweetheart) or cause any issue so I paid it AND tipped him, only to go home and wash it off. It is against the law and Texas Cosmetology Commission to charge for a salon service that an individual is not licensed for. I had already contacted the TCC and will let them handle this.
I went to have my hair fixed and heres the ringer… the person who fixed my hair knew Casey. Casey apparently has a LONG history for this MANIC response to customers who are not pleased or have any issue. He will insult any previous work, personally insult and kick customers out. I was told he takes a lot of pills and is like this… wish I knew sooner.

I called Salon2Dye4 last Thursday, November 6^th, to make an appointment for Casey to color my hair after a friend referred me. I am not sure who took my call that day but I informed them that I needed the first available appointment to have a color correction from a bad service that I got from a previous salon and that I had long, curly, and thick hair so it would take a decent amount of time. She asked me for my phone number and said she would call me back. I received a call back about 10 minutes later and we confirmed an appointment for the following Thursday which would have been tomorrow, and she said that she would also put me on a list to be called if something sooner became available being that my hair was in a terrible state.
I called again today to confirm my appointment for tomorrow, 11÷12÷14, and I spoke with Cindy. She looked in the system and told me that there was no appointment scheduled for me. I of course was upset because not only was I waiting for a correction, but I also have a very important event that is taking place this weekend, and I also work as a celebrity fashion stylist. If they were not going to ensure my appointment, I could have booked with another stylist at another salon. I cancelled a Tuesday appointment with Blue Mambo which would have gotten me taken care of sooner than Thursday, but I didn’t mind because I really wanted my hair done by Casey, as I have been looking for a «salon home» since I moved back here to Houston, and I was sure that Casey would be become my regular stylist. Furthermore, Cindy was very rude. She told me that there was not another appointment available for Casey for color and highlights until mid January! Even though i was very disappointed and upset, i told her to go ahead and schedule me for January. Instead, she began insisting that she spoke with me on a Saturday instead of Thursday which I did not see the relevance in arguing that point. Although the time we spoke, that they called me back, is registered in my call logs. I asked to speak to Casey and her exact words were «NO! I am the manager here, I make the appointments, you will talk to me. And I will not take any appointments for you!». Then she hung up in my face.
It doesn’t matter how good the stylists are if the person you speak to before getting in the doors of the salon is inefficient, rude, and discourteous. It really is disappointing being that I am sure both Casey and Chandra are great at what they do. From what my friend tells me, Cindy is the newest stylist at Salon2Dye4 and has been rude to her on occasion as well. It’s not her establishment, I was not her client, and she should really be ashamed of handling someone else’s business this way and misrepresenting their company. I’ve never experienced customer service so terrible from a salon.

This salon is truly wonderful! Casey is incredible. They are all so personable and they are truly the best colorists and stylists I’ve ever had! Every time I leave I feel like I am in a Garnier fructisse commercial, swishing my flowing locks while oohing, aahing and giggling :)

I came to this salon about 9 months ago, and I can honestly say my hair has changed even in such a short time, and I even saw changes the FIRST time I came in.
I am a blonde and have had highlights for over 12 years. For whatever reason, be it my last stylist or my own styling, the front and top of my hair had become more and more damaged and was broken (this gradually happened over a year period or so).
In addition to the damage, the highlights themselves were never quite the color I was looking for.
SO…when I came to see Casey, I was in need of a lot of help and desperate to find someone who undersold what I was going for, and who also cared for the health of my hair. On my first visit we discussed what I liked and didn’t like about my hair, what I was looking for, and reviewed photos of colors he had done on other blondes. He told me I was looking for a «cool» blonde, and he was right on! I was so happy and relieved when I saw the color that first visit.
Since then, the color has never disappointed, and my hair has become healthier and stronger as he takes care not to put damaging color on the parts of the hair already blonde. He also does a treatment that protects my hair between visits.
If all that wasn’t enough, Casey himself is a delight to be around, and has a great energy! The other staff is amazing as well. I always look forward to coming in, and it is worth every penny to feel good about my hair again.

I recently Visited Salon 2DYE4 and my experience was absolutely great! Chandra was the stylist that took care of me she did a fantastic job dying my hair I left the salon very satisfied with the color that my hair turned out I did somewhat of an ombré with plenty of dimension Chandra was really helpful when it came to giving me the best advice when it came down to colors that would fit my skin tone. The atmosphere of the salon is great there’s always music playing which just adds to the experience. I will definitely be a regular customer from now on.

The stylists at this salon are great! However, the haircuts are EXTREMELY pricey! My first haircut was $ 95 not including tip and all I got was a trim (I have medium to long hair). So, they should have at least $$$$ on Unilocal since nearly $ 100 for a haircut is not average.

I recently moved to Houston and am SO grateful to have heard about this salon! I admit I was a little nervous about the gloss/​glaze because I’ve had stylists in the past who turned my hair jet black instead of the deep, rich brown that I requested. However, COURTNEY got it right the first time! She was very attentive and listened carefully to EXACTLY what I wanted, which obviously paid off because my hair looks amazing. The color, cut, and style were exactly what I requested. I could not be anymore satisfied and am SO thankful that I didn’t choose another salon.
Oh, and all of the stylists there are so friendly. Honestly, you can’t go wrong with this salon. Wonderful people, GREAT service, and competitive prices. I’ve already scheduled my next appointment :)

I had recently moved to Houston– I used Unilocal to find a hair salon and ended up going to Kourtney at salon 2dye4. She was absolutely amazing! She listened and took her time with me and the end results were fabulous. I’ve never been totally satisfied with my hair cuts before but Kourtney did a fantastic job. My lowlights and highlights were also exactly what I had wanted. Great salon for cuts and color– I’m about to go for my second visit today! 5 stars in my book

Im almost too afraid to write this review, it will make it even harder to get in with this TRUE hair genius.
After recently moving to Houston I was in need of a SERIOUS root touch up. Found a salon on Unilocal that seemed to have good reviews. I decided to take a gamble. And was absolutely SHOCKED to see what an awful job the stylists did. I had never left a salon so unhappy
In a panic I tried to find another salon and came across «hair 2dye4» on Unilocal.Called to make an appointment and couldn’t get in for a few weeks. But I was places on a waiting list just in case any cancelations happened.
To my surprised I was called back about a week later and had an appointment the next day.
First of all… the salon is just cutest salon I have ever seen. And the receptionist Cindy is so adorable and sweet.
Casey and I went pictures and had a in depth conversation about the color and cut I wanted.
After I few hours in the chair. My hair is beyond BEAUTIFUL! I have never had such a stunning blonde. After just ONE visit with him
I will definitely be going back to Casey. He saved my hair!

I never write reviews because I feel as though they are a waste of my time but because I found Casey through reviews, I will now share in hopes that those in need like me a year ago will gain the same great gift, a hair dresser for life!
Casey is AWESOME! One of the pictures posted of the work he has done is actually me, well more like, my hair. In fact, the picture posted of my hair is actually the first time he did my hair and it has only become more gorgeous and more healthy since then!
In my opinion Casey is definitely pricey but oh so very worth every single penny. I love my hair and I care about the color, the cut and how healthy it is. I found Casey because my hair dresser of 7 years up and left the business and I had to find someone else. After two years of many bad cuts, over processed highlights with hair breakage, I finally went to google and started doing some research. I found Casey through the internet and read a ton of awesome reviews on him and thought I would try him out. I was definitely skeptical about how good he was but I am now a believer and one of his products of perfection!
Things I love about Casey:
— Casey listens to the look I am going for (each time it varies) and he is right on target every time!
— Casey takes his time to do my hair, I don’t feel like I am being pushed out the door once the next client arrives.
— Casey cares about the quality/​health of my hair.
— Casey caters to the amount of maintenance I want to do. I am much lower maintenance than most women who highlight their hair. I only go once every 4 months but my hair looks good up until the next time I get it done! In fact, I still have people ask if I just got my hair done in month four.
— Casey looks at your hair as a piece of art and puts so much love and passion in what he does
— Casey continually tries to push the learning curve in the art of hair. Every time I go to him, he’s telling me about another technique he discovered.
Casey it truly an artist with the gift of listening which is the greatest combination you could ask for in a hair dresser.

I have been a loyal customer & friend to my darling Casey for 5 years. And the number one reason why I drive 50 miles to have him do my hair is because simply…“HE IS THE BEST!!!” When I first started seeing him my hair was a disaster nightmare freak show bird’s nest. My hair now is the healthiest it has ever been and it is the color I should have been born with.
Casey takes his time during the hair process and takes opportunities along the way to explain his process. I have never felt like he was pushing a look on me, I have always felt as though it was a collaboration to achieve a higher state of Fabulousity. He is a true master in his craft and it is evident while you watch him work that he truly loves what he does. I am blessed to have a talented, visionary as a hair stylist and friend.
Run, don’t walk to this place…

Salon 2DYE4 is the recently opened salon by Casey Derouen, formerly of SOK. I followed him here after hearing he was opening his own shop.
If there’s anyone in Houston who knows hair, and especially hair color, it’s Casey. He is a master at it. He’s done a ton of training, so you know you’re in good hands.
I booked an appointment with him originally after seeing one of my friend’s hair color turn out so gorgeous. I couldn’t resist giving him a shot. And it was a good decision.
I came here recently to the newly opened shop to get my hair done by him. He is very patient and enthusiastic and has a lot of advice to give about how to color your hair. I didn’t feel rushed or interrupted when telling him what I was hoping to get as a finished result. The end result is exactly what I hoped for. After so many disappointments at other salons in the past, it was refreshing. And he keeps track of how he colors your hair, so you’re sure to get the same formula next time.
I haven’t met anyone who sincerely cares about how your hair looks as much as Casey does. He takes his time and does an excellent job. Hair coloring isn’t cheap, so if you’re going to get it done, it’s comforting to get it done by someone who does it right.
