Founded by Charles Saylor in 1980 as a one-van mobile Locksmith Service, Saylor Safe & Lock Inc. opened its doors in 1984 with its first storefront base on Jones Road in Northwest Houston with Peggy Saylor, Charles’ wife and partner in all things, at his side. Both are complimentary resident experts in this rapidly evolving field. We moved our shop and showroom in 1996 to 11 035 Cypress N. Houston to accommodate growing demand and fully invest in owning our land and building outright. Family owned and operated, we have serviced our community for 30 years and running, working hard with integrity and accountability to maintain our good name. The company now employs a small fleet of licensed, mobile locksmith technicians, dispatched in company service vans bearing our logo from our fully-staffed home base. We are equipped both in-shop and in-field with the extensive inventory necessary to conveniently meet our customers’ locksmith security needs.

I had lost the keys to my RV and had spent all day backtracking to try to locate them to no avail. My son googled locksmiths and randomly selected Saylor from the list as I was departing Houston the next day (NewYears Eve Day) for California. He spoke with Josh who was willing to come out that night (11:30pm) to pick the locks, remove the tumblers and re-key my locks. Unfortunately, he did not have the keys to match. Josh told me that they open at 8:30 am and that he would have my tumblers and keys ready for me to pick up at their shop, I show up at 8:30, keys and tumblers waiting on me and out the door I went. Besides the outstanding service Josh provided, the cost was no doubt a pleasant surprise, paying a fraction of what I was expecting and prepared to pay !!!

The lady I spoke with on the phone a very polite and definitely wanted my business. I just bought blank keys from the Honda dealership for my scooter. I went to one locksmith and he said he couldn’t make the key but if I got him the code he cut it for 20 bucks. I called sailors key in lock and that’s when the lady was very nice and the phone and said that they could cut the key for sure. When I arrived the guy picked the lock on the scooter and cut one of the keys that I brought. When he went to ring me up he said it was $ 46! I responded with that’s kind of expensive don’t you think. He said well the other guy couldn’t Cut it could he? He wasn’t very friendly and I definitely will never return to the shop again! I called the lady back because she was nice before and told her I was going to write a review she offered to get my money back which was very nice! I would not recommend the shop to anyone and less you want to pay double the price!

I have used them once before and they did a good job at a good price. This time, they charged me a $ 55 service charge and $ 32.50 labor to tell me they couldn’t fix the lock. So for $ 100.00 I got nothing. Man, I wish I could charge $ 100 for half and hour and say «I can’t help you.» Thanks Saylor.
