Social Security Administration

The website says they're open from 9am to 4pm M-Friday. But when you click to get directions, it says 9am to 3pm every day, except Wednesday, which is 9am to noon. Which is it? I think it's the shorter hours. I'd be unhappy to drive an hour only to find they're closed.

I tried to call, but it sent me to the national #, which wouldn't allow me to talk to a human. I was able to get a phone # for this location, but nobody answered and it didn't match the number on this location's website.

At ticket office 44 there is a Spanish-speaking young man who refers all the Hispanics who do not answer him to the number of health and human services so as not to provide them with the proper service. I think the insurance administration must be attentive to this sensitive issue.

There is no reason it should take 2 ½ plus hours of waiting for what ended up being a less than 5 minute engagement to change my last name. What a waste of my work day.
The security officers seem rather rude and you can’t use your phone while waiting (you can stare at the blank walls or other angry patrons — fun fun!)
Also, I waited over an hour before I was called to a booth and told that I checked in using the wrong reason, so they had to switch the waiting list that I was on. They said there was a sign by the check in kiosk, which indicated what I needed to press. Why don’t they just inform me better on the computer and so many people wouldn’t have this issue?
The 3 stars is for the nice desk officers. They all seem very knowledgeable and professional.

5 stars for a government building seems really weird? Did for us too! Security helped hold our spot since we were missing a paper, man at the counter was super helpful, place was super clean… Essentially what we expected to be awful turned out pleasant!
Now they need to work on the DMV.

I came to this location to get a replacement card since I recently got married. arrived in the parking lot at 12:40 on a Thursday and I’m in my car now at 1:37 writing this review! Everything complete.
Not to mention I signed up for the wrong type of card and was placed on another list. The agents were very nice and quick! highly recommend.
Oh, and I brought my toddler who was very anxious so the quick service was very awesome!

It’s a nightmare. We were not able to get our SSN which has been applied for couple months. And we still haven’t got it. The irresponsibility of this agent has totally ruined our life — we can not get a credit card, no work permit, no driving license, all because of this terrible terrible agent. It was such a terrible 4 months.
We called the office almost every two weeks and even visited this agent in person but still no result. After many voice mails, this agent gave us a call back once and all she said was «hello hello and sorry I could not hear you «and hang up — she never really wanted to talk. No matter how many times we call back, no one answered.
We don’t know what we can do and we are surprised by quality of the service. It feels like a dead end and We still can’t believe that we cannot do anything about this. And we don’t believe this is America. Shamed. Anyway, please avoid this agent, or you may be the next victim for waiting a year or forever not getting your SSN!

Came here twice to get my last name changed. A coworker suggested this place because she didn’t have to wait at all to change hers. Which goes in line with the couple reviews I had read on Unilocal.Unfortunately I didn’t get that lucky both times. First time I came at 9:30Am on a Tuesday, thinking that no one will be here. I was wrong, but only had to wait 40 mins. The number does go pretty fast and the workers are pretty pleasant, not too friendly, just straightforward.
Second time came back on a Friday around 12:30pm, thinking it shouldn’t take long since people will most likely go early in the morning. I was wrong again :-(however, once it’s my turn, it takes about 10 mins to change my name.
Anyway, the facility is clean and the building for SS card is separated from the other services. Make sure you park on the building with Card sign. I like the self check-​in and how they keep us informed while waiting. I guess I can’t get away from waiting. That’s just life.
Fyi, the number goes from B1 to B139 and it will starts over. I know, random right (why 139?). I got B01 and they were calling B99 when I got there. Thinking I was next until B105 was called. FML

First, I read all the reviews before I select the SSA office at this location. I found it very easy to come to Dillard Dr, get on hwy 290 North frwy at exit W Little York/​Senate Ave.
Second, hell yeah the security guard is scary, fierce and got a unfriendly face, in a way he is only doing his job but I think he can be friendly when he is doing his job at the same time :)
Customer service is good and number moves fast. I’m glad to chose this office.

5 stars for a government office? You might be looking at this wondering if it’s opposite day. But it isn’t. Changing my name (officially) was a breeze thanks to this place.
I pulled into the lot and noticed the separate entrance for the card center — awesome. Then, I walked in and the front desk double checked that I had my form filled out before he let me check in. So it looks like they resolved the issue Clarrisa mentioned. I self checked in at the kiosk, sat down, and about 10 minutes later they called my number. You even sit across from a person at a real desk rather than stand at a counter. People: this is not the DMV. There was no attitude, no hassle. The woman who helped me was pleasant and the documents listed on the website were exactly what I needed.
In and out in 20 minutes. Amazing!
