There are parts of this thing that I love and there are other parts that gets the majority of my swear words. The stretch right around 610/​Galleria area is one of the worst clusterF (*& in all of Houston. And for some reason that area always has a flipped over 18-​wheeler that just shuts down all of Houston traffic.
However, coming from 288 north towards 610 N, I usually opt to take 59 N instead of 45 N just because that stretch where 45 splits is just awful.
At the end of the day it is a highway, and if you drive it enough you learn the tricks and live with it.
