Spring Branch Honda

In April I lost my car to the horrible flooding across Houston, so I did some online research and visited multiple dealerships to check out some vehicles.
Here are my problems with Spring Branch Honda:
1. The sales person I spoke with didn’t sound very knowledgeable about the car (a Fit) and he kept speaking to me with his body turned away so I couldn’t hear him. I’m glad I did all of my own research in advance. Also, he tried to give me the ‘hard sell’ and repeatedly asked me to sign paperwork as we negotiated a figure. I told him I wouldn’t sign anything until we had a firm number agreed upon. Sorry guy, not falling for that.
2. It took them four hours to process my purchase. People were lined up and some became really angry.
3. A man in an office who completed my paperwork tried to push a service plan on me twice. When I respectfully declined, he developed an attitude. He asked if it was a money issue. I told him that I wouldn’t spend more than what I negotiated for a monthly car payment. Keep in mind that the lowest of the four services plans they offer would have been an additional $ 50 a month. He said: «So, you want it for free?» in a snide tone. No, I didn’t want it for free — I plan to pay for service when it’s necessary. Who needs $ 600 worth of oil changes a year on a brand new vehicle? Nobody. I’m not falling for that either. They only offer these plans because doing so enhances their bottom line in the end. Don’t be a sucker.
4. Next, I asked where I could obtain the floor mats because they weren’t in the car’s floorboard. A guy in the office said to check the trunk. Guess what? They weren’t in there. So, I inquired at the main desk. Multiple employees (including the original salesman) said the Fit doesn’t come equipped with them. What??? I got upset and confronted the manager. He backed down and said: «You thought you were going to have to fight for them didn’t you? We always try to take care of our people.» Total sleaze. He gave me an IOU and I had to come back days later to get them. And, oh, I did.
5. While outside getting ready to leave, the salesman appeared and coached me on how to rate him when I received the satisfaction survey. He said that he wouldn’t get paid if I gave him a poor rating. Are you kidding me? What’s the point of a survey if the business tries to manipulate you into giving favorable responses?
I will never return to this dealership as long as I live in the Houston area. This place epitomizes the car dealership stereotype.
Notice how the business manager left a comment below. She knows exactly how they operate. Please don’t insult my intelligence (again).

Took my parents old Honda in for recall work… so of course the dealership is not getting any money from me for this type of work. I wasn’t exactly sure what to do once I got there as I observed the service windows and what appears to be a bay where you drive up and the reps come out and help you??? Well that didn’t really happen. The reps kinda just ignored me by either not giving me eye contact and appearing to look busy or quite frankly didn’t care to ask if I needed any help. After about 7 minutes of standing idle and looking obviously lost REFUGIO TERAN came out. He is the new service rep I had called originally and scheduled to meet. Well the difference was night and day. Refugio was great and provided exceptional service. He is the SOLE reason I am giving a 4 star review. So moral of the story is if you go here for car service either know what you are doing and if not then ask for REFUGIO!!!

I brought my CRV to Spring Branch Honda for a promised air bag re-​install. Honda had told me that my airbags were recalled and that this dealer would provide a rental car until the parts are available. When I called Spring Branch they told me they would not provide a rental but did give me an appointment to replace the airbags. I took time off work and arrived at 7:30am for my 8am appointment. I was told for the first time that the parts were on back order. It would be nice if Spring Branch Honda valued the customer’s time enough to call a day or so ahead to inform that the part is not available. As it was, I missed a morning of work and made a long drive for nothing. And I am still driving around with a faulty airbag! This is really shoddy service.
FOLLOWUP: As recommended by the response to my posting from Spring Branch, I emailed the General Manager (one week ago) and left a voicemail for the General Manager (yesterday). I have not received a response to either. Speaks volumes.

Been getting my oil changed here since 2014 when I got my car here And they are usually good with my oil changed and haven’t had too many long waits. I don’t have any specific complaints but I also wouldn’t call it 5 star service just yet.

Never again. 3 hours for an oil change. On a Tuesday morning.
To simplify things, I’ll make a timeline.
9:20 — pull up to service lane. Someone comes by and says a rep will be with me shortly.
9:25 — multiple people walk by, still no help
9:30 — finally get helped — requested an oil change and headed to the waiting area
10:30 — the group of customers who were in the room when I first entered are all gone. I think to myself — maybe they’re just really busy today
11:30 — now it’s been 2 hours. I have someone check on the status of my car, and they say they are «finishing up.» No apology for the wait, no explanation.
12:15 — 45 minutes of «finishing up» later, they’re done. Still no explanation for almost 3 hours of waiting for an oil change. The girl says that the rep who picked up my car should have told me about the wait.
I’ve been to multiple Honda dealerships/​service centers, and this was by far the worst. I usually frequent John Eagle Honda (west rd/​290), and that location has the best customer service. I’ve waited 2 hours for an oil change there, but they had warned me beforehand and they checked on me periodically.
I understand that an oil change isn’t a spa day, but seriously? 3 hours?

I had a lovely lady that once worked here, bring me by this dealership when I was shopping for a car. She hooked me up with some good sales-​folk. I got a good deal on a barely used 2015 CRV last year. The salesman were easy to deal with and did a good job. The finance folks were not as easy to deal with and I was waiting well past the closing time for the dealership, and didn’t get the rate I wanted. I suppose nothing is perfect. Even so, I love Alannah (My CRV in the pic). I’d go back to that dealership again.

¹²⁄₂₀₁₅ We brought my 2010 Honda Accord to get an oil change and for the service dept to perform the oil consumption test. We believe we had another issue dealing with what we believe to be an exhaust leak and we also wanted to do the test for that. Now I also informed them that I received a letter from Honda stating that my car warranty had my extended for 8 years or 125,000 miles due to high oil consumption. The gentleman at the counter told my husband that we needed the letter because he had no idea of what i was talking about. When we spoke to Raffy he said that our car did indeed have extended warranty. So when our Honda was complete we received a call i believe from technician 296(not sure of his name) we were told that had a exhaust leak and it would cost us $ 2200 to fix which is was way out of price range. we came to pick up my car and when we got home we notice there was no paperwork stating where the exhaust leak was located and the break down of the price of parts and labor to correct the issue.
²⁄₂₀₁₅ We wanted to get the exhaust leak fixed and me being the research person that I am found out a exhaust leak can be anywhere and i needed to know the location. So on 2/​5/​2015 I called the service department and spoke to Raffy when he went to look into the system he said there were no notes and no quoted price and technician 296 is the person who performed the test he said he was going to find out what was going on and give me a call back because that information should’ve been in there. At this point and time I am upset because I paid for Exhaust Leak Test and didn’t understand why the information we were told wasn’t anywhere to be found. So my husband called and stated that I was told there was no information in the system about the exhaust leak test we had done on the car. the gentleman he spoke to said that it stated in the system we were quoted $ 2200 and that we are also given documents of the issue when we picked up the car (which we did not). So my husband asked so why when my wife called she was told that the information couldn’t be found. The gentleman then stated he was going to get back with us and find out what was going on. about 30 mins later i received a call from Ali stating that issues with my car is that my Exhaust Pipe was bent it would cost me 882.99 to fix. How did it got from being $ 2200 to $ 883 that is a $ 1400 difference and i don’t see how anyone can make that big of mistake.
So today instead of having Honda service the car we decide to take it to a Muffler Specialist and we were told something complete different. The wasn’t an exhaust leak nor was my exhaust pipe bent but that it was just a part missing and it had part of the pipe had separated due to the missing piece which cost us $ 150 to fix!
I also found out today that my wheel bearing needed to be fixed and that is covered under my warranty so I called the service department again to set up an appointment. (the only reason i didn’t call Honda Cars of Katy is because the reviews of service is worst then yours). I spoke to Anthony he looked up car in the system and started speaking to me about oil consumption test. Which i explained to him that i already had done. I then asked him if the wheel bearing was covered under the warranty he say yes but warranty is expired i then informed him that my warranty was extended to 8 years or 125,000 miles which ever comes first. Anthony then told me he never heard of that and that I would need to bring the letter up there.
This is ridiculous If you are working for a company esp in the service department you should be educated on recalls, warranty extensions etc etc. Why isn’t this information in the system because you should be able to put my Vin Number in the system and know if my warranty was extended. Why should i have to bring a letter to prove to you my warranty was extended.
I have not been given the proper service i deserve I was lied to about the issues my car was having quoted a ridiculous price then told they couldn’t find the results of the Exhaust Test to being told 5 mins later that it was in the system. It seems to me that i was going to be scammed for a issue i really didn’t have and money was going to pocketed.
You service department really needs to get it together. That is not what Customer want or deserve!

One of the easier car buying experiences I have had. The experience will always depend on the Sales Person. That is the fiest oerson you meet and the one who gets to knwo you and your needs best. My Sales Person, Ray Jr. (Go see him), was very nice and knew what I wanted. He did not try to upsell me or get me into something more than what I needed.
We negotiated the price, and after a few back and forths, we got the price we wanted, which was better than the True Car quote.
The Sales Manager, Daryl is extremely nice and he will try to work with you.

Horrible customer service. Trust me, you don’t want to waste your time here.
I came in to test drive the Honda Pilot LX or EX. The lady who greeted us said they only had the EXL which is the nicest of the three models. The engines were the same so I said that was fine. She then proceeds to hand us a piece of paper and tells me to fill out my name, email address and phone number. I told her I wasn’t looking to give out any information. She responded with «that’s the only way we do things here.» I asked if I could give her just my drivers license and she said «no.» I told her I would take my business elsewhere and she didn’t even try to stop me from walking out.
Absolutely the worst dealership experience I’ve ever had.

I had a wonderful experience with Spring Branch Honda. I was in a car accident last week and totaled my car. I needed a car ASAP and called various dealers looking for a ²⁰⁰⁸⁄₂₀₀₉ Honda Accord but I was unimpressed with the customer service. I finally dialed Spring Branch and spoke to Chuck (the Manager). Not only was he cooperative and pleasant, he offered to pick me from my home and drop me back (1 hour round trip) given my situation. I was planning on using Über, but he sent one of his Sales Assistants, Fransisco, to get me. Fransisco made me feel very comfortable during the entire process, and I ended up getting a black 2009 Honda Accord at a very reasonable price. I will definitely be recommending this place to my friends!

I really loved my sales guy! Alejandro is a gem!!! He was very helpful and very knowledgeable! He made the process actually enjoyable and we all know it can be a headache! Thanks for excellent and speedy service! I have recommended Alejandro and Spring Branch Honda to all my residents, family and friends! Thank you! :)

Very pleasant buying experience, largely due to Diana Munoz, the salesperson (who I’d recommend using). She was not pushy or inappropriate, which can often be the case when purchasing a car. She also worked with me to match and beat the lower price I obtained from another dealer. She didn’t engage in any nonsense and there was far less «hard selling» and no deception during the buying process (whereas other Honda dealers would misrepresent pricing or trade-​in value to get you into their showroom to then try and pressure sell).
Only reason I took off a star is the paperwork process when purchasing the car took too long (several hours), but overall I’m happy with the experience and would/​will buy from Diana again.
Note: I have not used the service department yet, so no comment on that department, but will review my review once I have.

Today we bought a new used Honda Odyssey.
The entire experience was first class.
They gave us a fair price for the new van and a great price for our trade in.
Our sales lady was very professional and the sales manager treated us like we were old friends. Even the finance manager was top notch.

Went looking for a Honda and were paying cash, they were completely unwilling to work out a fair deal for a car so I went across the street to mak haik ford and bought a new fusion.

It used to be that I would have given this place a 4 but recently they have downgraded themselves to a 2. We have an 06 Civic with less than 90k miles on it. She’s still in great shape. While I did not buy the vehicle here I’ve been having it serviced here for years (mostly oil changes but a few more major things as are bound to pop up).
Recently the car was in a fairly severe accident (not my fault!) and it was taken to the collision center nearby (Penske Collision Center on Conrad Sauer) and the entire front end was checked and rebuilt at a fairly large expense to the other guy’s insurance company. Not 2 weeks later we took it to SBH service for a routine oil change and state inspection and were told that the power steering had a leak and that we needed to replace the entire system for $ 1500. It was also recommended that «due to the age of the car» the steering column should be replaced (for who knows how much more $$$). After telling us that, the woman from SBH service told us they refused to perform the state inspection until after we did all of this expensive work. The car would «just fail inspection.» So, we left. I will not have my inspection held hostage over a costly repair that I do not currently see a need for.
I had just driven this car to Dallas and back and felt that, after the work done at the collision center, it was riding better than ever. No steering issues, no difficulties indicative of a power steering issue. Not to mention we were suspicious that this issue was not found during the total workup of the front end just done at Penske as they were putting the car back together.
So, we got a second opinion. Lo and behold it was found that the power steering and steering column are fine. That was a few months ago and all is still well and the car did pass the state inspection at another establishment.
Bottom line… this place is fine for a quick oil change (assuming you can afford to leave the car here for at least half a day — as others have said nothing here takes a short amount of time) but for more substantial repairs I’d get a second opinion.

I bought my car at this location brand new. I took it to get the timing belt changed as I don’t have the tools to fix it myself. Long story short, they damaged the part of the engine block where the valve cover gasket is mounted. It began to slowly leak oil and I had to change the gasket and seal the gouge they put in the aluminum as it looks like they used a screwdriver to «pop» off the cover.

I got a car from here a few years ago. The process was pretty easy since my partner emailed several local dealerships and this place was happy with us buying a car coming off their truck sight unseen. Best deal in the city. It was as good of a car-​buying process as you can get.
I’ve come back several times for maintenance, oil changes, and tire issues. The staff is always professional and courteous. The staff is very transparent about the work and pricing. You can get hole punches on a key ring tag and get a free oil change after the sixth one. I’ve gone at different days of the week, arriving at different times in the morning, but every visit turns out to be a 3 hour minimum. I don’t even understand how the wait is that long when I show up at 7:30 AM — they open at 7:00 AM — but it’s true. Most recently, I had a tire blow out and my tires were under warranty so I came here on a Friday morning. About 5 hours into my wait, they told me the transmission and brakes needed flushing. I waited a total of 6 hours.
They do have a shuttle that will take you around within a 8 mi radius or so round-​trip, longer if it’s one-​way and you have a ride back. You can definitely get to Memorial City Mall or the Galleria or Koreatown. If you opt to stay, there are magazines, a tv blaring daytime talk shows, and free public WiFi. Bring a laptop, a thick book, and/​or earplugs.

My grandmother lives by herself here in Houston and was experiencing car troubles. $ 2800 later and two trips, the battery was bad. This is after they checked the battery the first day and claimed it was okay. When it could not be resolved in the first day, she had to spend $ 200 on a rental car from the dealership itself when I would expect it to be at a discount or complimentary.
Her son took a look at her car post repair and there were countless and USELESS repairs done that had no connection to the electrical problem.
To take advantage of an elderly woman makes you scum of the earth.

I have been meaning to write this review for a while now.
I have a 2008 Honda Civic. Last year, Honda decided to extend the paint warranty for the roof of cars with certain year/​model and paint color due to a more rapid deterioration of paint. i’m guessing it is from the sun damage or something– not exactly too sure, but my roof had cloudy spots in various areas. So I’m thinking, «Heck yea! Free paint, why not?!» However, turns out– the wait for your car to be serviced was a ‘very long’ wait, the closest Honda to my home was the one off Beltway8 (Gillman Honda) and she estimated that it will take months before I can even get an appointment.
So I went to Spring Branch Honda, and although the wait was just as long, I was greeted by a very friendly and helpful man, Tim Swafford. He took care of me and reassured that everything is covered and gave me an appointment right off the bat. What impressed me the most was that you would expect ‘mediocre’ service when you are claiming something that is free/​extended warranty, but Tim’s hospitality almost made me feel a bit embarrassed. Needless to say, I left happy and confident that I had an appointment waiting for me in a few months.
When I arrived for my appointment, I was a tad worried that it would take a while for them to take my car in, or worse– they would have no idea who I was and why I even came in. Things happen, you know… However, they had me in the system and I left Honda in less than 10 minutes. Tim was not there and I called and left him a message since he gave me his business card the first time I met him. Immediately that same day, he called me back and assured me that it should be ready as mentioned before, approximately 2 – 3 weeks.
Being the anxious person I am, I called back a week later just to check up on my car, and left a message. Tim called me back and told me that my car is actually almost ready! He says that he checks it during the day and another service technician goes in the evening and does another round. What a great service!
«Thank you for keeping me updated! and WOW! My car is ready is just a week? WHOOHOO. If you live in Houston, you feel so helpless without a car. «
When my car was ready, I was in a CME class. and Tim called not once, but twice to leave me messages. I thought that was really awesome that he took personal responsibility to keep me up to date.
When I got my car that day– again, took me less than 10 minutes to get my car and outta the lot. In addition, I only expected the roof to be painted, but instead my roof, hood, and the back hood (? is there a term for it) were all painted. I guess it was also in the warranty? Whatever it was, it was a wonderful surprise.

My friends think I got a new car… haha! Sure I did…

My father bought my car from me from this dealership, and we received a mailer with a complimentary first oil change in the mail. So I decided to go there for the oil change.
Let me preface before hand that I had actually gone the day before, when I got out of work early in the Woodlands, and decided to drive down to I-​10 and the Beltway only to have the service guy tell me it would be at least a 3 – 4 hour wait. And I wasn’t wanting to wait that long. Especially since I didn’t have someone to pick me up and go somewhere else to make better use of my time. So I left and made plans to go today when I thought it wouldn’t be as bad.
So I came in around 2:00pm and this time, the service guy said it would be around 2 – 2.5 hours. I thought to myself, okay whatever, I’m here and it’s gonna be free. It’s better than 3 – 4 hours. I asked him also for a car wash (apparently they don’t give every car a car wash like they do at John Eagle, where I’m use to doing an oil change at because it’s near my house, but the service guy said they provide complimentary car washes by request only, so make sure you request it).
So I went into the waiting room, which was standard. Sitting area, two TVs, a kitchen bar where there was a mini fridge with free bottled water, a coffee station. Then there was a children s area, and a «desk-​study» area where there were outlets for anyone who brought their laptops or phone chargers. Nothing fancy. There was also a popcorn machine.
I thought I might get hungry so I walked outside to scope the area. Unfortunately there is nothing that is within reasonable walking distance that would be safe to walk to, so scratch that idea. Then I looked up to see if there was a Jimmy John’s nearby because I knew they delivered, and there was! I debated however because I was hoping that they might get done with my car early, so I decided not to order. But it was nice to know it was there.
So I got on my iPad to just keep myself busy while talk shows played in the background. they provided some good side entertainment. There is also free wifi.
I got onto Unilocal just to update somethings and decided to check the reviews on the dealership. Some were bad and some were good. Nevertheless, I checked-​in and to my SURPRISE, I got a $ 10 free gas card for checking in! I was so excited. It was redeemable at the cashier. So I decided to wait till my car was done to redeem it.
And true to their word, my car was done in about two hours. Glad they did not lie about that. So I showed the cashier my coupon on my phone, and she phone their marketing lady (I assume) and she walked up and gave me a $ 10 gas card for Shell! Nevertheless, I was excited for that and the free oil change. And while we were finishing up the paper work, I asked her if there was a frequent oil change key chain thing that if you do so many oil changes there, your next one is free and such and she gave me. But she said it would only get punched if you actually pay for an oil change. And then she asked where I got the car from and I told her my dad bought it from there and she looked it up. And wouldn’t ya know it, when my dad purchased the car, it came with two free years of oil changes! Score! I was happy she told me that and she gave me instructions on what to do next I come in.
And so I thanked her and walked out to my car. The service guy handed me my keys and said thank you and goodbye. I get to my car, and not only was it washed, it was dried too! (They don’t dry your car at John Eagle). AND they vacuumed the inside! (They don’t vacuum at John Eagle)
And so I had an overall positive experience at Spring Branch Honda! Aside from having to wait for two hours, which was really the only bad part (however to be fair to them, they did say it would be 2 – 2.5 hours), everything was great! I will definitely be coming back again!
