Hummus is great. I tried their combo plate and it was wonderful! The Baklava was good too! They moved the location across the freeway in the Manhattan building.

As much as I wanted to give this restaurant a positive review, I cannot seem to get myself to do so. The restaurant staff was overly friendly, the hole-in-the-wall look and feel of the restaurant had my expectations through the roof, and the prior reviews have been fantastic for the place. All of these things made me quite excited about the restaurant. However, when writing a review for a restaurant, it always comes down to the food. The food was below average in my opinion for a Greek restaurant. We ordered several different items to get a good feel for the restaurant. First, the peri fries(which is just the peri sauce on top of shoestring fries) are pointless. The peri sauce is a glorified chili sauce that you could find at any Asian restaurant(and when I saw glorified, I mean they charge extra for it at Stalla’s) while the shoestring fries are basic fries. Although the peri sauce is good and the fries are cooked well, the two just do not combine well together. I found myself scraping the peri sauce off the fries onto other dishes that I had ordered and eating the fries with traditional ketchup. In addition, the falafels were below average, the greek salad was average, the tahini was slightly above average, the rice was slightly above average, and the chicken shawarma tasted quite bland. The highlight of the meal was the hummus. The hummus was very different from traditional hummus, but was quite good. Otherwise, the restaurant was quite forgettable.

Pretty good. Owner(?) is a bit intimidating but went there for the food! That being said; I ordered a gyro pita and it was very different. First time to try lamb. It had a rubber like and thin feel. It was good but sauce took me by surprise. Not that crazy about it. Price tag was $ 9! Worse, I picked out veggies and was confronted for doing so and me being socially awkward felt chased out xD I will go again to try another item on their menu! This time I’ll mention to skip the veggies!

This amazing restaurant is right next door from my job. They gyros and Greek salads are to die for! Today I went out on a limb and had the chicken kabob plate. I was not disappointed! The kabob was cooked to perfection. I will definitely be getting it again!

Before I wrote this review, I had to make sure I was at the right Stalla’s — There were WAY too many good reviews. Second, I come from a city where there are Gyros on every corner(Cleveland, OH) — I grew up on this food. When I walked in all I heard was Greek Radio and the short tan skinned man behind the counter with a heavy greek accent that was rude as hell — For a greek joint these are GOOD signs lol Gyro: This is one of the worst Gyros I’ve ever had in my life but somehow the Pita Bread was some of the best?(how?!?) — They use the processed gyro slices(not very many of them either) and the tzatziki was bland and thin. No onions, a little slice of squishy tomato and lettuce… in a Gyro? NO. For those that give this joint anything over 2 stars or even think this piss poor monstrosity is a «Good» gyro — Do yourself a favor and go to Theo’s, Byzantio or even Niko Niko’s for a REAL Gyro or hell if you want a good HOOD Gyro go to Lia’s Drive In on Homestead. THISISNOT A GOODGYRO. Corned Beef Sandwich: This was by far the worst Corned Beef Sandwich I’ve ever had in my life, Ever. Corned beef tasted more like ham and had the texture of something that came out of an Oscar Mayer package. Rye Bread was pretty much white bread with a few rye seeds in it and toasted dry. Baklava: This was OK, At least it was homemade but they are too cheap to even use honey it was just simple syrup… wtf? I’m not some angry hater that’s never happy(like most 1 star reviews) just look at my other reviews… if a joint is good, I’ll say it. This joint is *NOT* good, at all.

I love this place. Hands down the best Giro plate in Houston. Don’t believe the hype from other restaurants. This is the real deal. Food was super fresh, pita was well toasted, and the cucumber yogurt was fantastic. Every time I come here I want to order something else on the menu but I keep coming back for the Giro Plate. I promised the owner that next time I will venture into another part of the menu. Whatever my next choice, I know it will exceed expectations. You can tell the owner takes great pride in the quality of his food. I hope you like the restaurant as much as I do.

This place is so close to my office that I just had to try. I ended up getting the Gyro plate. It comes with a Gyro and a side greek salad. Both were just OK, the gyro could have been packed a little bit more with meat, but the warm pita was delicious. It’s not too expensive and somewhat healthy. I might put in my lunch rotation.

I wanted a Reuben and this was nearby. I ordered a turkey Reuben sandwich with Thousand Island dressing with a side of falafel. The Reuben was alright. The wheat bread it was on was slightly toasted but it was nothing to write home about. The falafel tasted like it’s been sitting under a heat lamp for awhile. Friendly service.

Friendly staff, good food Prices are reasonable I always get the gyro and dolmades. Small, and clean place right off 290 just past magnum and McDonald’s. Same shopping center as the FedEx and marble slab

Small family owned operation, absolutely fantastic! Best gyro in Houston and the chicken peri peri is amazing. Discovered this place while I was in school nearby and I come back often as a regular. Best Greek lunch food in the city!

its a small mom and pop store, nothing date worthy. but maybe a quick lunch. Had the falafel sandwich which was not bad. Theres not much in the area so its something different for the people working around here. $ 6 – 10 price range /person

A nice family run establishment with good options. Piri piri chicken, gyros, mezza, most standard Greek fare. There aren’t that many options on this area and when you go to that parking lot, you think, this can’t be that great. Surprise! It’s a great little place. The family is always there to help. I like the mezza plate and the piri piri. Dolmades, hummus, spanakopita, all good in the hood.

This please is a hidden gem. It’s tucked away in a shopping center. I would have never found it if it wasn’t for my coworker who recommended it. The ingredients were so fresh and everything came out piping hot. The service was great and quick(perfect for lunch hour)

I always enjoy eating at Stalla’s. I’m a fan of their Mezze Plate, but the Peri Peri is really yummy. It’s not Greek, but who cares? I really want to get their Catering so I can try out her Moussaka. Stalla has good knowledge on how to use spices and you’ll probably like most of what you try here. Don’t forget to get baklava for later.

Stalla’s Deli was pretty good for a Mediterranean joint close by work. The prices are reasonable for platters and sandwiches. My sister and I ordered a gyro plate to share. The gyro meat lacked seasoning and it wasn’t as good as Niko Niko’s. The hummus as our side was pretty good. It was a bit grainy, but it was bad having that texture. My boyfriend ordered the gyro sandwich topped a nice tzatziki sauce and sliced onions and tomatoes. The chicken kabobs were a-ok. Nothing too great. The service was a bit slow because they only had 2 people working the lunch crowd/ I definitely get the baklava. It was a very moist sweet treat! My mouth started watering as I laid my eyes on that triangular nutty dessert.
