Star Furniture

We had a great experience shopping at this Star location. We were looking for some contemporary/​eclectic pieces to fit in with our furniture and I had specific ideas about what types I wanted and sizes of pieces I needed after having made the rounds of model homes in the area. We visited several stores before Star and were pleasantly surprised to find all of the pieces we were looking for here! This was great because we pulled them together to make sure they looked good together in our open dining/​living area. Also, although they have a wide variety of price points, our sales person was kind enough to direct us to the sections that met our budget. Delivery experience was great also. We decided to exchange one piece once we saw it in our home and decided the color was too dark, and they were accommodating, waiting for us to contact store and determine how best to proceed. Very pleased with the entire experience.

I put a deposit on two rugs about a month ago. Once we closed on our house this week, paid off the balance and arranged for pickup today. The seller calls and says he has to get one is the rugs from a different store and they wouldn’t be available for pick up today. WELL when we put the deposit on the rugs, it was my understanding that we were purchasing the two rugs hanging on display. So we decided to at least pick up the one available. We waited almost an hour for them to «find» the rug that is supposed to be available… eventually they bring it down NOT wrapped/​protected. I’m now curious to see if the other rug will even be available later this week for pick-up.ill never shop here again.

We were shopping for a living room set. Upon walking into the store, a salesman greeted us then informed us we had 12 minutes to shop. We turned around and walked out. I have shopped here in the past but I won’t be coming back. My husband runs a auto dealership and they close when the last customer leaves! If this is how they treat there customers when they are there to buy, I can’t imagine them being helpful if something was wrong. Go to Gallery, they know how to treat customers!

My only knock on this place is the furniture is some furniture there is way over priced! The cheapest thing there was $ 600. For example there were these little stump tables and each were $ 600. The furniture there is beautiful though and there is a lot of selection.

I’ll start this review by saying … I do really like the furniture at this location and have never had a problem with customer service. In recent years, I’ve purchased a couch, ottoman, mattress/​box spring, patio table and chair set. The thing that drives me crazy about Star is the way the sales people stand in the lobby and accost you when you walk in. They are like vultures. I tell them I’m just here to look around, they state their name and tell me to let them know if I need any help. Understood … and IF I do need help, I’ll look them up. But, they end up «secretly» stalking you around the store. Every where you turn … there’s your sales stalker. This makes for a very uncomfortable shopping experience. Today, I just finally walked out, because I was so tired of being followed. IF I ever go back to Star, I’m just going to tell the salesperson that I have absolutely NO intention of buying anything, I’m just here to look around and waste some time before picking the kids up from school. Maybe that will work, if they realize there will be no commission made by following me?

If you like to be cheated and treated like crap, please visit Star Furniture at I-​10, they will make you feel like NOT at home. They will give a price on a furniture set, make you believe it’s an amazing deal and then not deliver what you thought was that you bought. I have bougth a couple of times from this store, hey a mistake can happen, I belive in second chances. What I don’t believe is in constant screw ups from management and customer satisfaction. Managers don’t care about satisfaction of the customer (is not about getting anything for free is about coming to an arrangement to fix the issue) Managers at this store are rotten thieves, they don’t talk to customers, the send their evil minions (sale associates) to talk to you and convince. My 2c are now shared.

I am really happy with the delivery service and furniture! So glad I chose Star to buy my new furniture!

Love this store! I received impeccable customer service from Linda Lindsey and Mr. Johnson… not pushy but very knowledgeable and accommodating. Furniture is great quality and not cheap at all BUT the customer service makes it worth it.

Been shopping at Star Furniture for over 10yrs. Always a great selection of quality furniture and outstanding customer service. There sales consultants are friendly and knowledgeable. Just purchased a couch and love seat, Stan Thacker our sales consultant really makes you feel welcome and communicated with us throughout the process. Great place to shop for furniture.

Horrible customer service at this location. I walked around for 30 minutes perusing sofas and did not get approached by an associate. My husband and I bought 2 bedroom sets and a desk for his office at the Southwest Houston location. This location is now closer for us but we will take our business elsewhere.

This company is BEYOND abusive of it’s employees outside of sales. Salesmen lie to their customers to make sales. Drivers and delivery workers are treated lower than scum and paid even worse. For the prices they charge for furniture, you would think the retention of the employees that actually GET the furniture to the customers, not just the salespeople, would something that Star values but it’s not. I would not recommend purchasing ANY furniture from this store unless you believe in supporting the POOR treatment of employees, many of whom are military vets. This company should be shut down for how it treats its delivery people.

We purchased a mattress from Star about 4 yrs. ago.
It has a 10 year warranty. The matress began sagging on both sides. We called to have them come out. The service tech lied and said it was stained and the measurements taken were incorrect. We asked for someone else to come out. The ghetto service rep. said no one else would be coming out and hung up. Called corporate office, they put me on infinite hold twice. Last time I was put on hold the phone hung up.
I would not personally recommend Star Furniture to anyone.

Visited on a Saturday afternoon. Upon entering we were greeted by a few sales reps. One of which immediately began trying to hard sell me a mattress.
My son and I walked through the store marveling at all of the beautifully crafted furnishings, tastefully displayed. It has been years since I was in a furniture store (besides Ikea) and was astounded by the prices. I don’t know if would label them as high as that indicates they’re over-​priced. You get what you pay for you know? The furniture ‘seemed’ high quality but what do I know except it was out of my budget. This place WILL give you sticker shock. The only couch I saw that I felt I couldn’t live without was $ 4,000! …for just the couch… that’s it… no side chairs… no side tables… no nothing… just the couch. BLAH!

Great customer experience, we bought a lot of furniture over a year ago. We are having an issue with our coffee table. They sent out a technician and ended up offering us a credit to get a replacement coffee table. They stood behind a defective product even though the warranty period has ended.

We just purchased a kids’ desk from this Star Furniture over Labor Day weekend, and brought it home instead of having it delivered. Upon picking up the desk, my husband was told if there was a problem with the desk, we should just call customer service and there would be no problem with an exchange. When we got it home, right out of the box, there was a damaged corner (crushed and chipped). We called 30 minutes after getting it home and asked if we could exchange it, but customer service said they would send someone to look at the desk and if it is not a manufacturer’s defect, then it’s our problem not theirs. The person at the loading dock obviously gave my husband wrong information, and now we are stuck with a less-​than-​perfect piece of furniture. We are definitely not satisfied customers and warn others about misinformation given by their employees.

I’ve bought two pieces of furniture from Star — both a desk and a bookcase. Both were purchased brand new and both needed repairs out of the box. It’s evident Star Furniture buys furniture from factories with very low quality control, and does a poor job of making things right.
The desk I purchased took a small repair — a piece had to be glued back. This was not a part of the assembly but something that came from the factory unglued. My bookcase was damaged and I had to wait a month to get another. The replacement was delivered free of charge, but was defective. After another month of waiting I scheduled Star to come replace the defective bookcase on Monday between 5 – 7 pm. They didn’t come, so I called; they had meant the following Monday. On the following Monday the delivery driver called 3 hours early, and was rude and an apologetic when he said he could come now or not at all, so I would have to reschedule.
I will never buy from Star Furniture again. They charge a hefty mark-​up on low quality (albeit good looking) furniture and the service you get for that price is very poor. Please save yourself the headache and spend your money elsewhere.

Our salesperson was good — although one salesperson tried to «steal» us from another salesperson which made things awkward for us.
The furniture is beautiful and the quality is good. However, two of the pieces were damaged upon delivery. Star quickly sent replacements with full service removal of the old and set up of the new. I was satisfied with the resolution.

Aaron (our associate) was awesome! Attentive to detail, very informed, and he went out of his way to help us. He wasn’t pushy and gave us space to talk and think amongst ourselves. We shopped almost every reputable furniture store in Houston but love the selection from Star Furniture. I feel the prices are reasonable for the quality… However I found out they have sales every so often. For President’s Day they had 20% off!
I finally have a dining room table to be proud of and I don’t feel like I’ve been taken to the cleaners either.

My fiancé‘ and I decided to spend more money on our first sofa thinking the quality would be better but we were VERY wrong. Do not buy from Star Furniture.
After less than a year of normal usage, the fabric is pilling horribly and gets lint on everything it touches. We thought that Star Furniture’s outstanding customer service would correct this matter but we were wrong again. My fiancé called to ask for help but they blamed it on human and dog usage (who by the way is only 5 pounds and doesn’t even lay/​sit on the areas that are messed up).
We are so disappointed and should have purchased from a more professional business! We will not recommend Star Furniture to any of our friends or family!

My Fiancé and I love shopping at Star Furniture in West Houston. The showroom is huge, and filled with a great selection of furniture and décor to suit any house. Our sales rep is Martha, and she is outstanding. She will certainly listen to your needs and help you find products that fit both your lifestyle and your budget. Be sure to ask for her on your next visit.
The prices can be steep, but the quality of the furniture is obvious. They sell pieces that will last for years. My only complaint would be that they offer sales OR financing options. It would be nice if you could get both. That would help in cases where you need multiple pieces.
