I took my truck in for a rebuilt engine about a year ago. They said 7 – 10 days, and of course it was a month like most reviews. The check engine light came on before I got home with it, so I called them and they said no problem, bring it back in. I took it in the next day, and got it back that night, with no CE light on… But, on my way to work the next day, it was back on again. I already had a code reader, so I plugged it in and found that the right side O2 sensor was unplugged? Apparently the only thing they did was clear the code and sent me on my way?
Then, about a month later, the truck started running badly. I plugged in the code reader again, and found misfire on cylinder 4… That’s weird I thought? My plugs were brand new $ 12 Iridium plugs when I took it in, why would it be misfiring so soon? Then I flashed back to them trying to sell me a new set of plugs, saying mine were worn out and no good. I said no thank you, the plugs are pretty much new. Well, I went under the hood myself, and pulled the bad plug out. It was an Autolite platinum. In other words„ NOT the plugs it went into the shop with, but one of the cheapest, shortest life plugs on the market. The kind of plugs you buy when you’re getting ready to sell a car, and don’t care about the long term.
So fast forward to this week, about a year later. You guessed it, more misfires… I broke down and bought ANOTHER set of Iridium plugs to replace the ones they STOLE from me, and started the laborious task of replacing the plugs. Anyone who has replaced the plugs in a Ford 4.6 knows it’s a major pain in the butt. Well, I pulled all of the plugs out of the engine, and there were THREE DIFFERENT BRANDS AND TYPES OF PLUGS IN IT!!? A few Motorcrafts, a few Bosch’s, and a few more junk Autolite cheapo plugs. This is what they send out the door for $ 3,000? Really? It honestly looks like they put in whatever was laying around on the work bench when it came time to send it out the door. They may have even been used plugs for all I know?
EDIT: Now I found the reason for my misfiring plug? The intake gasket is leaking on the back corner of the engine, and the spark plug hole is full of coolant. I am heading into them this afternoon, to see if they warranty their work. I am guessing they will find some reason why this is not covered…
EDIT 2: You guessed it, the leaking intake cooling passage on the right rear of the intake IS NOT COVERED. They have pretty lousy coverage I am finding out. $ 3000 that I am still paying, and I have a useless vehicle that I am going to have to pay another shop to fix to the tune of $ 500, for labor, and probably another $ 200 for the intake they either warped or cracked while installing. GO ANYWHERE ELSE BUT HERE!!! If I could give negative stars, they would get a –5!
To these people giving 5 star reviews, I can almost guaranty they were paid to write these glowing reviews. I have NO idea how the BBB rates them so highly either, unless that status can be bought as well. I would rather ride a bike to work, than give these guys another cent of my money.

I took my car in to get its engine fixed, and it scares me that review below me is SO SIMILAIR to Rob who rated them 1 star and was posted exactly 5 days ago !!!
They charged me $ 5,000 for it with labor fees they told me it would take a week, it took A MONTH. My car was in their shop for an entire month to replace an engine and i know that that an engine can be installed within 1 – 5 days.
Then when i get my car with its BRAND NEW ENGINE the engine light still appears to be on, its jerking, shaking and revs profusively while in park.
then i call them, they tell me my air valve needs to be fixed so i buy the part and they tell me its going to take 30 minutes. It took them 2 hours and when they hand me the keys they are super sketchy about it and tell me that my car is not running right and they do not know whats wrong with it they need more time??? What i dont understand is how can you hand me my car back the FIRST time knowing theres something m i did not know of or ask me if i wanted it to be fixed or told me it needed to be fixed. Nothing. I definitely think now that it wasnt even broken in the first place. I dont think it needed that part, its still running the same what the hell did i pay for ??? they are just trying to get more money out of me since ive already invested over 5,000 dollars for a car that STILL isnt fixed two months later. DO NOT COME HERE. You will be scammed.

IMPORTANT TO READ UPDATE IF NOTHING ELSE.
In deciding to invest in a new engine, I researched several shops. After speaking with Clay and watching their YouTube video, I decided on Texon. I was a bit worried when I got to the shop and it looked much sketchier than in the video. I guess they had really cleaned the place up for the video.
After speaking with Clay (he’s a good salesman) I felt more at ease. Right off the bat he misquoted me on the price by $ 800.00 saying that my jeep had a different engine in it than what he expected. Seems to me he would know or could easily find out EXACTLY what engine was in a year and make of vehicle before quoting a price. But then again, after you’ve towed the car in, it’s easier to pull that kind of thing. He explains in rather convincing detail the thorough procedure they go through in repairing vehicles. It all sounded good and convincing.
My advice would be to EXPECT them to find additional needed repairs and realize you’re 100% at their mercy. After all, you’ve decided to invest thousands of $$ by this point. What are you going to do when the call comes, (and it will) tell them to put your pieces in the trunk and you’ll send a tow truck for it ?? No, you’re committed by this point. No turning back.
Also EXPECT the repairs to take longer than the «FEW DAYS» promoted in their video. Mine was 8 days but as you see in the reviews, others have taken a month. OMG! Guess I was lucky.
Don’t be surprised if you have to take it back for more repairs. Despite their «through test drive» I could tell there was something wrong with mine before I got 3 blocks away. By the next day it was revving high anytime I stopped at a light. I took it back and they did something to it and I picked it up the next day. The problem was much better but not completely fixed. Six days later the car was dead and wouldn’t start at all. They sent a tow truck for it, at my expense of course. Now he said it needed a starter. So much for them «thoroughly» inspecting everything while they had it torn apart. After another $ 350.00 for More parts, more labor, a second tow charge, more time and more Über fees, it finally seemed to run well, except for an annoying little rattle.
!!! IMPORTANT UPDATE BEWARE !!!
Coincidence or ??? Who knows??? my 9 year old jeep with its new $ 5,000 engine was stolen 6 weeks later from my driveway in a quiet very upscale residential neighborhood (River Oaks Area) No broken glass or alarm sounded and they made off with it very quickly. They probably had a key and knew the exact address of the vehicle. No trace of the vehicle was ever found. At least not on the U.S. Side of the border.
Advice: beware and possibly put some type of anti theft/​club device on your investment or maybe give a false address so nobody knows where to find your vehicle. don’t end up like me, out $ 5,000.00 in repairs and in the market for a new car, which was the entire point of investing in a new engine.
I emailed clay about the strange «coincidence «of my vehicle being stolen 8 feet from my front door. Not a word in response. My guess is someone there has a side gig of providing a key, description, and address of newly repaired vehicles for extra cash. That’s what the police, insurance adjuster, and everyone I’ve told about the situation concluded.
The photo shows the unique parking situation I have at my home. From my living room, I could be at my car in a maximum of 5 seconds. Obviously this was no random theft.

Clay helped turn around my «Jeep breakdown nightmare». It“s been a crazy 2wks since my Jeep broke down. The Jeep dealer were backed up over 1wk, I had it towed a 2^nd time to a small auto shop who found out that it had a «engine failure». 5 days later after calling many places to get quotes on the cost of an engine, I called Texon Motor they saved the day! Clay quickly understood my case and quoted me a good rate $ 1000 cheaper than other places. He was very professional & knew what I was going thru. He even gave me good advice regarding insurance and emailed me a detailed invoice 30min later. This professional service convinced me to let them replace my engine!

I was nervous… Clay made me feel extremely comfortable about rebuilding the engine on my catering truck. He was right, I was doing parties with it the very next day. Had a small exhaust leak about a week later start to develop, and they fixed me up that day. It’s been dreamy ever since! There’s a reason they’ve been around forever… there’s a tons of mechanics (large knowledge base), it’s ultra clean, and the guys are cool. I wouldn’t go anywhere else!

Worst experience with a business of any sort let alone a automotive business.
The worst customer service imaginable.
I had my engine rebuilt, it took 2 weeks longer than promised, surcharged $ 800 over the agreed upon price, and my car didn’t start a week after I took it home. Not to mention that it took me weeks to finally air out the smell of cigarette smoke and grease from my leather.
The service rep. is rude and does not care about your car.
If your car is important to you, find somewhere else to take it.
