Specialties
MCC empowers our community, primarily gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender individuals and their families, to enjoy healthier and more fulfilling lives by providing culturally affirming and affordable behavioral health and prevention services.
History
Established in 1978.
The Montrose Center was founded by a group of therapists as a publicly identified, easily accessible, and safe place for Houston’s gay and lesbian community to receive mental health and social services that not only accepted but also affirmed their sexual orientation. Today, the Center is one of the most active LGBT centers in the country, offering a wide range of programs and services to meet our community’s diverse and changing needs.
