This is such a unique and cute store! My friend and I have been here a few times, and they always have interesting things in stock. Everything is made by artists, some of them local. The front of the store has real eye catchers like hanging fairies, a chocolate monopoly board game, and baskets made of… vegetables(I still can’t get over that one). Then they have two rooms in the back, a Christmas room and a Texas room, both of which also have really neat things. Each time we’ve been here the owner has been extremely friendly and helpful! Don’t be afraid to ask her about certain details of a piece. She seemed happy to answer our questions. So, if you’re on Rice Blvd or are looking for a unique gift, swing by the Village Firefly!

I really liked this store! I had just eaten at Sweet Paris(crepes) next door, and afterward I was in search of a silver necklace… I didn’t end up buying it there, but they did have a lot of neat stuff, like silverware that had been bent and sculpted into paper towel roll holders, bowls, etc. They have a bunch of Texan made jewelry and gifts in the back room. I bought a Texas shaped trivet with one side bluebonnets, the other, denim. I had a fun time browsing the store, and I think you can find some nice and unique gifts here. The owner is also very nice to talk to.

I stopped in today because I was in the area and hoping to find great stationary. Village Firefly doesn’t have much in the way of paper products, but it’s a very cute niche store. Most of the products are artistic wall hangings. One of the products the store had a lot of was wall shingles that fell off buildings during hurricanes, these shingles were then fired and painted and they had cute sayings on them. There were also adorable kitchen clocks and a room full of Christmas decorations. The back room is the Texas room — tons of fun Lone Star State décor. It’s not somewhere I would shop everyday, but a great place to pick up a unique gift. The best thing about the place is the owner who is the sweetest person. Overwhelmingly nice. When I told her I was new to the area we spent 15 minutes talking about places to eat and check out. Loved her!

Okay this place gets a 5 star rating, because the lady that owns this place is really friendly and is always in the store everyday from open to close… The Village Firefly has an interesting selection of unique jewelry, gifts and art. They have a variety of oil paintings with music lyrics on them from Frank Sinatra and The Beatles, they are way cool! I, of course, own one and it hangs over my dining room table :) This store is has some neat gifts and goodies, Go check them out!
