The newest receptionist, Kaylee, is extremely rude. I love Angelica for all my needs, but this other girl, is rude, and completely unhelpful. I normally speak to Sara, who is the complete opposite of this Kaylee girl. A place of business should greet you in a friendly manner, make you comfortable to a degree and with Kaylee you will not get the full wax spot experience.

The place is nice, clean, and upscale. Christie is awesome. She makes you feel right at home and answers all your questions. She does a great job and makes it as painless as she possibly can. It is like going to see an old friend. I highly recommend going to see her.

I got my eyebrows done with Kerstin today and I absolutely love them! They were able to squeeze me in for a last minute appointment too! I definitely will be going back!

My first time ever getting a Brazilian wax and Christie really put me at ease. She made me feel very comfortable which made the process go by so fast! I definitely will be returning.

This is the best wax place in Houston, Christy is the best and absolutely love the at home feeling while you are having your appointment. Quick and painless, would not go anywhere else.

I went to Angelica for both brazilian & arm waxes for almost 2 years, and I must say she did an excellent job. It was too far from my house and not worth the traffic for me to get to the Heights though. Parking wasn’t great, but i always found street parking. I’m also not a huge fan of hard wax but the place was cozy and clean and prices were fair.

Wax spot is the best place in houston to get waxed. Christy is the best and I’m never disappointed. That’s why I keep coming back. Relax and don’t be nervous, they will always make you feel at ease.

Kyrstin does my Brazilian wax. She’s great by making it pain free, along with her being really sweet making it not so uncomfortable. They are also in my neighborhood and that’s always a huge plus!

I was pleased with my service. Kristin was fast and pleasant. Pretty painless. I felt comfortable with my Brazilian. I even decided to do an eyebrow wax and that was great as well. I found a new spot and I will return.

Christie does a fantastic job! It’s the least painful wax I’ve ever gotten, and she is very meticulous. Definitely recommend!

I was beyond impressed with my experience at The Wax Spot and have nothing but great things to say about Christie’s work. Not only did she do an excellent job waxing, but she was also so friendly & calming — I didn’t feel anxious or uncomfortable for even a second during the appointment; in fact, I was totally surprised when she said we were finished. I went here based off of the positive Unilocal reviews. Unfortunately I didn’t ask for any waxer in particular and let them assign me someone.
My eyebrows were done well. She listened to what I asked for (to keep them thick) and that was fine. My lip and side burns were waxed decently well (sideburns were perfect and my lip left a tiny thin «porn stache» of hair right above my lip… it was only noticeable to me though, I’d guess), but I had oily residue (that was used to remove excess wax) left afterwards. When I told her that I was prone to breakouts and asked for something to clean the oil off and has told her bout some things previous wavers had given me, she told me witch hazel should be fine. It wasn’t. I still felt oily as I left and broke out on my cheeks a few days later.
What I liked least was my bikini wax. I think I didn’t have a good experience because it was so quick… it was pretty clear my aesthetician prided herself on getting people in and out quickly. That’s not bad in and of itself, but my results weren’t thorough. She used very large strips and because I’m Black (though maybe this happens to everyone?) I have curly hair that grows in different directions. When she pulled the strips off, I had several patches — large enough that they warranted a second go ’round of wax — left. She probably used 5ish large strips for my whole bikini area. It was so rushed that I changed my original request of a Brazilian to a bikini wax because I didn’t want her to be rash with my more sensitive areas. When I left I was pretty sticky because nothing was used or given to me to take off the excess wax (as had been done for my face), so when I went home I did acombination of scraping wax bits off of my public area and tweeting the patches she had left behind.
I rated this two stars instead of one because I liked my eyebrows and because from a distance you couldn’t see my pubic hair. However, I think that especially given the cost and the subsequent facial breakout and maintenance I had to do myself, I wouldn’t return or recommend Kyrstin

I went to Kyrsten and was very pleased. My arch was very good and she cleaned up my brow very well. Would definitely see her again.

I actually have been to The Wax Spot about 4 years ago, back in 2011. Funny thing, I went and took an ex boyfriend as a bet and HE had to get a Brazilian. It was an interesting experience. At that time, Angelica waxed him. I will say that he definitely had a NICE bum.
Now on my end, I have never gotten any type of waxing. My ex has experienced one and I haven’t! Haha it’s taken me awhile to grab the courage to even have someone look down there, other than my obgyn.
There were a few reasons why I wanted to get a wax, specifically a Brazilian.
1. The experience.
2. Looking good.
Yeah. I thought I had a whole list, but o think those are the most common and legit reasons. I made an appt to see all the available appts, and Sarah the receptionist was so helpful! There was actually a few spots available and she was happy to fit me in. Since it was going to be my first time, I definitely needed some time to think. However I went ahead and scheduled two days after I called.
Day of service, I completely forgot to take ibuprofen! Not good for my first time. However, Sarah was understanding and incredibly hospitable! She even went to the back to see if she could find me some. Unfortunately, there aren’t any, so I was going to have to endure some pain.
Let me just say that Christie is AMAZING!!! She’s incredible. She made me feel comfortable. She spoke to me the entire time. She made sure that I was distracted. You’ll obviously feel some pain in the sensitive areas but she immediately rubs it with this oil to keep it from burning or any irritation. She obviously knew I was nervous and I even told her. Heck! My hands were sweating. She’s gentle and knows what’s she’s doing. There were some areas that definitely hurt with the initial pull, but it quickly went away. I even found out that both Christie and Angelica are sisters!
My appt was at 9am and I was done in 20 minutes! Time went by fast since Christie and I were talking. There’s also a TV in the back, but since you’re laying on your back, there’s no point. Talking to Christie was better than the TV!
If you’re wondering about the sanitary things, Christie used new Popsicle sticks every time she dipped into the hot wax. Threw away the old one and used a new one every time. By the way, that wax is pretty hot, but it won’t burn you.
Service was fantastic! The staff are very hospitable and obviously love what they do. I will definitely be coming back! With this kind of service, I tipped 20% just because my service was FANTASTIC.

I really wanted to this place. I had Kristin and while she was friendly, her work was sloppy. There was no attention to detail. I had a full leg wax as well as a modified bikini. I had to shave in areas that were missed. Like whole areas of hair left on my leg as well as uneven bikini area.
The parking situation is a nightmare as you have to park on the road (which I didn’t like at all) there is also no clear sign to let you know you have arrived where you are suppose to be. Very disappointed
I gave them 2 stars just for being friendly.

I got my first real Brazilian here. Christie did an AMAZING job. After she was done I was shocked that she got all the hair off because it went so fast and didn’t hurt, just a sting here and there. It looks great and feels amazing!!! Also, this place is very nice! Professional and comfortable.

Finally found a great place for a REAL Brazilian! Moved from LA here 9 months ago and searched and searched with disappointment until finding The Wax Spot.
Both Christie and Angelica are awesome. Super sweet and fun. As pain-​free as you can expect. Reasonably priced and worth every penny.
I have been back now 4 times and very satisfied with each visit. Highly recommend.

Quick and relatively painless! I was in and out of there in 15 minutes. The special blue wax they use really does result in a less painful and longer lasting wax.

Christie was AMAZING! I was nervous about getting a full Brazilian for the first time .and even though there were points throughout the process that were a bit more «intense» than others, the overall experience involved minimal discomfort. Christie pays close attention to details and makes sure your experience is as calm and relaxing as it can be. I hope to see her again the next time I go back. because I won’t be going anywhere else!

I was waxed yesterday for the very first time in my life and I jumped right in with a Brazilian.
This place has enough glowing reviews but I’m inclined to leave one for my fellow chubby bunnies /​plus size sisters /​big girls. What ever you call yourself, I’m sure you’ve scanned countless Unilocal reviews for fellow cuties with a belly who’s been waxed and survived to tell the tale.
And sadly I couldn’t find any reviews to help ease my worries. Waxing is painful, strangers looking at your lady bits under unforgiving florescent lights is nerve wrecking and the last thing you want is to feel awkward or embarrassed about about your extra chub.
But if you’re tired of awkwardly posing in the shower to reach your under bits, or if you just want to remove all layers between you and your beau or you just want to be more aerodynamic like me, this establishment is definitely fat girl friendly.
I showed up and they attended to me right away. My waxer, a very sweet woman with purple hair gave me enough time and privacy to de-​robe. She knew I was a newbie and explained the whole process to me which was very comforting. The next 5 minutes were pure hell but let’s be honest. You’re pouring hot wax on your nether regions and ripping the hair out of your flesh. It will hurt, but there’s no beauty without pain.
This place is pricey, but worth it. I will be back.

This was my first experience getting waxed. I had half leg and a bikini wax executed comfortably by Christie. I found out about this place doing a Unilocal search for wax salons. The good reviews on here are what encouraged me to try this place and I’m glad to say I went.
I found the receptionist to be friendly and helpful in booking my appt. I ended up adding a service when she called to confirm my appt because she was able to move my time and still get me in on the same day. Super helpful. Finding the place wasn’t difficult because I used my iPhone map but the little bungalow that is their new office doesn’t have a sign out front as of the time of this review. I circled the block and saw a sign on the back of the wheel cover of one of the cars parked out front and figured it was the right place. I parked on the street. There isn’t any parking like you would find in a shopping area setting but this place is right off Heights blvd and really easy to get to. After I parked and went in, I asked the receptionist if it was okay got me to park along the street and she said it was and that my vehicle would be fine where it was so no worries there!
The reception area is clean and comfortable. There is a Kuerig machine available for those wanting coffee or tea. I arrived a little early. Christie came out to introduce herself and to let me know that she was waiting on a client and that she would give her a few minutes to show. I told Christy that I wasn’t in any hurry. We talked for a minute and had a nice brief visit. When it was time for my appointment Christie came and brought me to the room. It was a brightly lit room that was comfortable and there was a small TV in front of where I was to lie down for waxing that was a nice distraction, not too loud. I was instructed to remove everything from the waist down and lie on the reclined table. The table was cushioned and the room temp was comfortable. There was paper draped on the table for hygiene and I had a paper sheet to cover my bikini area. Christie and I talked the whole time. She is super friendly and nice. It helped take my mind off the leg waxing. I didn’t find it to be painful so much as it did sting a little but I wasn’t in any discomfort. Her work area was clean and organized. When it came time to wax my bikini area, the paper sheet came off and Christie started waxing. She asked me how much I wanted removed since I wasn’t getting a Brazilian (my first bikini wax so I wanted to be a little conservative). It was like being in a doctor’s office in a way. I wasn’t embarrassed and didn’t feel overexposed even though I was naked from the waist down. Everything was just matter-​of-​fact and done quickly and surprisingly painlessly. I expected it to hurt but it really didn’t. I appreciate Christie’s professionalism and warm personality. It made the whole experience a positive one. I enjoyed learning about how she got started in waxing and about her family. She reminds me of a friend of mine. I have some redness and on my legs some little red spots but it is to be expected. After I got dressed Christie walked me to the reception area and thanked me for my business. I was also given a sample bottle of some ointment to use twice a day to prevent ingrown hairs and irritation. I went ahead and booked another appt since the holidays are close and I’m sure they get busy. I am looking forward to seeing how long the results last and will definitely be back. I like this place!
