This is the worst Walgreens I have ever been in contact or had the displeasure of dealing with. I’m surprised the pharmacy is still in business with the way everyone doesn’t ever seem to have an answer for anyone. I will start having my prescriptions filled else as I feel like I need a new prescription for the headache I get dealing with this dilemma every single time. And it’s alway someone else’s fault: my doctor, the insurance, the timing, blah, blah. Every single time I have had to come here they haven’t been able to help without some sort of divine miracle from the Walgreens gods. The only thing that brings me back is the mere fact that it is walking distance. Good grief.

I’m unfortunately a «customer» of the 20^th Street location… EVERYTIME I utilize their pharmacy it is a FUCKING joke!!! To add to the 100’s of complaints, today I go to drop off prescriptions (mental health) and guess what!!? The pharmacy tells me that «they are accepting NO MORE prescriptions until further notice… what? I’m sorry, come again. We are not accepting prescriptionS until «furthur» notice. Really, a pharmacy not accepting prescriptions and can’t tell you why!
THIS ENTIRE COMPANY NEEDS TO GO THE FUCK AWAY, THEY SUCK ON EVERY LEVEL THERE IS. I HATE THEM, THERE’S ALWAYS AN EXCUSE. WHOMEVER «RUNS» THIS DISTRICT IS A JOKE! The ONLY good thing at this hopeless location is the ONLY employee that’s been there more than a week. I can’t recall her name, she’s a cashier… but she needs to be a manager because EVERYONE else T this location is a stupid douche bag!

The hours say till 12am… Walked up at 10:50pm and the doors were locked. Are you kidding? Terrible management, I can imagine the owners wouldn’t be too pleased

Great location; but inventory needs some help. Couldn’t find light bulbs. Went across to CVS and found just what I was looking for. I hate that because I always considered myself a Walgreens girl (grew up with them). Love the Walgreens at the corner of Studemont and Washington.

The policy at Walgreens is to answer in two rings.
They do not.
I called while in the store and I saw the pharmacist and techs clearly ignore me in a empty store.
I would start calling corporate walgreens to get these staff straightened up.

Worst pharmacy ever. If I could give this pharmacy zero stars, I would.
In the past two weeks, I have had two separate doctors call in prescriptions which the pharmacy claims they never recieved. One prescription took over a week to get and I am still waiting on the second prescription. I confirmed with both doctors that they did in fact call in the prescriptions and verified the phone number used.
I have been saying for months that I am going to switch pharmacy’s because it always takes at least 30 minutes to pick up a prescription but I have yet to do so because the location is so convenient. However, after these last two attempts to get medication in a timely manner for an illness that needs to be treated immediately, I have finally decided to make the switch.
Last thing… I called yesterday to get a status of my prescription and was placed on hold for 30 minutes!
Goodbye Walgreens on W 20^th!

If I could give zero stars I would. This is by far the slowest Walgreens Pharmacy in Houston not to mention that they are very unhelpful. I have had multiple occasions where there was a prescription out of stock and they didn’t call me to inform me of it for my sick child. Then they claim to call the dr and the dr has no record of their attempt. DO NOT GO TO THIS LOCATION.

I’m writing this review as I sit in line at the pharmacy drive through. I’m the third car and I’ve already been sitting here for HALF AN HOUR!!! The people that work at the pharmacy are pretty much useless. My doctor faxed in my prescription 3 times and they some how «never got it» finally he called it in and sent me a message saying this walgreens is run by idiots. Other times before this I have given them a day or two to fill and I’ll come to pick it up and they will have an issue they never addressed and haven’t filled my prescription. I’m getting the rest of my scrips filled and then NEVER COMING BACK!!! Go to CVS across the street. This is the worst pharmacy in Houston.

The following review pertains solely to the pharmacy at this location. This is a log account of my harrowing experience win this pharmacy. I encourage anyone considering using this pharmacy to read and beware!
This pharmacy is despicable. My fiancée and I have collectively been stolen from, lied to, misinformed, and completely disregarded by the pharmacists. A few years ago, before we met, my fiancée was prescribed a controlled medication for her severe anxiety and panic attacks. She went in and got her medication, which was labelled correctly, and opened it to find that it had been replaced with an antidepressant to which she was not prescribed. It was blatantly obvious that one of the pharmacists had stolen her medication-​when confronted, the pharmacist vehemently denied even the possibility of a mistake. The pharmacist said my fiancée was lying and was trying to get more of the medication so she could ‘continue abusing it’, and refused to check the inventory of the proper medication to prove that it had been dispensed.
Fast forward a few years. I began using this pharmacy when prescribed Suboxone for addiction treatment. For those who do not know, this medication prevents a recovering addict from using by blocking the opiate receptors. It ‘mimics’ opiates by preventing withdrawal symptoms without any of the euphoric or psychological effects caused by opiates. It has been instrumental in my lengthy journey of recovery. I’m administered the medication under the supervision of a medical doctor and it has saved my life.
The Walgreen’s pharmacists have jeopardized my sobriety multiple times. They often like to claim that they have not received my script (which I bring to them in person), and I have to make emergency calls to my doctor to receive another one. Every month, I call to make sure my medication is ready-​the pharmacists always say ‘yes’ and then when I get there, they have any one of a plethora of clever and creative excuses as to why my medication won’t be ready for any number of days, sometimes weeks. I need this medication to prevent severe withdrawal symptoms and cravings. Twice I have been stranded, sick and miserable, because the pharmacists have lied and said that I don’t have a file with them, haven’t given them a script, suddenly don’t have insurance on-​file, or have already picked up my medication. The reason always changes depending on which pharmacist you talk to.
The pharmacists are rude and callous. I constantly feel judged for being an ex-​drug addict and a few of the pharmacists have upon multiple occasions made off-​handed comments about me being a drug-​addict, medication-​abuser, etc. I feel extremely uncomfortable dealing with these horrible people and hate that my sobriety and well-​being is so unpredictable because of the whims of a few abusive pharmacists. It’s not their job to judge their patients and their medication and/​or medical issues. Pharmacists are supposed to dispense medications as directed-​this they do not do.
Today is the day I will never walk into a Walgreens again. My doctor decided to call in my medication during our last visit. It is supposed to be dispensed today and I have just enough of my medication to last another day. The pharmacist claimed they never received a script from my doctor. I called my doctor’s office and they have an on-​file correspondence saying that the pharmacy did indeed receive and approve the script. The receptionist at my doctor’s office told me that all of their patients have problems with this particular pharmacy, that they often claim to have ‘not received’ scripts for controlled medications. The pharmacist lied, and I am taking my business elsewhere.
We rely on pharmacies to dispense our medications. A lot of us unfortunately rely on these medications to function. The W 20^th St. Walgreens Pharmacy employees take it upon themselves to decide whether or not you deserve to have your medication. Stay away from these people!

Other reviewers seem to have had issues with the pharmacy. I have not used the pharmacy services here… so my review is on the rest! They always have a great selection, it’s always clean and tidy… The Redbox is great too, not sold out of everything like the Kroger on 11^th.

Took 4 employees and 20 minutes on hold to tell me that they don’t carry larger than 4.7GB dvds.

This is my neighborhood Walgreens and I’m torn on this review.
There is a super huge employee turnaround at this location, meaing there are a few familiar faces but they change ALL THE TIME.
The store staff are fairly friendly when they are paying attention to you.
The pharmacy… is mostly a nightmare. The faces rotate regularly. They tend to be slow and their notification emails are worthless. It doesn’t matter when you go — it is always understaffed and busy. There is a guy that is really nice and helpful and a girl (that I haven’t seen in a while) that was nice. I went in the other day, and it seemed like the «new» girl at the counter could care less about any of us waiting in line… she was very nonchalant and wore way too much make up.
I will continue to go to this location bc it’s close but I always prepare myself mentally when I go to the pharmacy.

These folks actually make CVS look like a professional organization. Go here when you want to experience what service looked like in communist Soviet Union.

The pharmacy is extremely slow and the drive through is even worse. They seem to be ALWAYS understaffed at the bustiers times.

Don’t even bother with this trash can better known as Walgreen’s on Yale. Just go ahead and save yourself this disgust and stroll across the street to CVS.

Worst pharmacy ever. Not sure why I have had some allegiance to Walgreens and have been putting up with them, but I am done! Waited 20 minutes to drop 3 prescriptions off, went to get them the next day after I got my text that said they were ready and they only ring up 2. No mention of the 3^rd… Apparently they needed to confirm something with the doctor and its not ready. Why did I get a text that it was ready? Just wasted 20 minutes of my life, again, with another visit on the horizon. Don’t think the drive thru will help you out, you sit there as long as you would be in line because there is only one person working.
Pharmacy is understaffed and disgusting. Transferring my prescriptions promptly.

Customer service is horrible. This location needs a whole new staff. The people here have the worst attitude and treat you as if you are a complete burden. 1 star is being extremely generous. I recommend the cvs pharmacy just across the street.

Absolutely Terrible. They forgot my prescription twice over two days… Then i came to pick it up at the time they said, and of course, they had forgot again and to top it all off once they began my Rx, they found out they were out of the medication… Plus the pharm tech acted hung over and was rude about the whole thing… Thankfully I went across the street to the CVS and they made my Rx right away. Never stepping foot in this Walgreens again…

You know you need more hobbies when you review your local Walgreens on Unilocal,but regardless this is my Walgreens and I love them. I love them so much in fact, that I’ve never ever set foot in the CVS located directly across the street. They always have what I need here!
More reasons to love them…
— Staff is friendly and keeps the store tidy
— They sell pints of Haagen-​Dazs Pralines and Cream and the Kroger on Shepherd never carries this flavor!
— They carry my favorite kind of Tylenol, also not found in the pharmacy section of Kroger
— Good sales on feminine products and Haagen-​Dazs pints
Cons: This is not a 24-​hour Walgreens!

Nothing too special about this one, the stock is irregular and it’s a bit worn.
However – it’s cheaper on many items relative to other drug stores around Heights/​Montrose.
EDIT: Actually they just raised some of their prices. I suspect all these chains play pricing games so it’s hard to tell who really is better.
